My designer recommended floor and table lamps that began at $1000+ each. No way was I going to spend that kind of money. I began browsing Lamps Plus and I've been able to find very acceptable imitations of the pricey lamps for under $300 and in some cases for much less than that. True, if you have to order a lamp it doesn't come assembled, but that is true for every light fixture I've ever ordered. The lamp assembly is especially easy and I appreciate the money it saves me. Though I haven't worked consistently with one person I've found that every person who has helped me at Lamps Plus has been service oriented and professional. read more

Might as well go to IKEA since their lamps come unassembled. They did not let me know this and I spent $1600 on 5 lights waited months and the dates promised were not correct either. When you spend that much it should come assembled. Now have to pay someone to put it together and someone to install it. Too pricey will not shop here again. And when I was picking them up an item, I got lots of attitude for no reason at all. Thumbs down. Not a good experience. read more

This store has a young lady named Ripley...she is easy to work with, knows her products and frankly totally underpaid.

When we visited this store to view a lighting fixture in person before deciding whether or not to purchase on the spot, the lady salesperson was extremely snobbish and didn't seem to want to help us. I noticed her right away when we initially entered the store, as I couldn't avoid overhearing her conversation, as she LOUDLY explained to another customer, "With the way the world is turning right now..." that she shouldn't count on getting lamps on back order...or some other discouraging explanation (not sure if this lady actually wants to SELL things or not). We had driven from across the valley to this particular Lamps Plus, since this was the only store that had the item we wanted, after several months of searching. The item was in the back, but the saleslady would not let us see it. She said they would be putting it up for display, and that it could not be viewed until then. I explained that we wanted to look at it, as we cannot tell just from a photo online, if it is the item we want (even if we were to order in the store or online, we would want to view the item in person, first). She then started to verbally describe the item to me. In frustration we left. It really seemed like she wanted to stand there and be a big snob, and not help us at all. We also wondered if we were being judged in some way, and that perhaps there were assumptions being made about our purchasing capacity. I hope this woman finds a more positive outlook on life, and can make a positive change by doing her inner work. Perhaps she can resolve to be a little more helpful and solutions oriented. Anyway, this was all completely a blessing in disguise, because before just throwing in the towel for the weekend, we gave our search one last ditch effort, and landed at Valley Light Gallery, Scottsdale. They totally turned our day around! Wow - the staff was so nice, and people were very busy buying things, and it seemed like there were a few repeat customers milling around, as well! It was so refreshing. We were able to purchase some other lights for our kitchen (and brought them home and installed them all that night - they're gorgeous), and today we are purchasing a gigantic fan for our great room. We're super happy, and Valley Light Gallery and the people who work there are a gem! We have a long way to go (it's a new house) - and Valley Light Gallery will be our go-to! read more

Horrible horrible customer service. Waited 3 weeks for installation of an expensive ceiling fan. A month later ceiling fan stopped working. Had to wait another 2 weeks for installation to come out to see what was wrong with the fan. Technician said fan needs to be replaced by just looking at it. No one followed up after he left. I called a few days later only to be out on hold for almost 10 minutes. I hung up and called again. Told the sales person i was put on hold and she said oh I thought I told you they wud call you back. Horrible customer service. read more

I'd like to say that the store on Indian Bend is awesome. Great selection and the staff is great. Michael is the manager and Stephanie is super knowledgeable. I highly recommend seeing their entire lighting selection. I recently had a couple of returns and Michael made it super easy. They have a 60-day return policy which let's you see the product in your home and gives you plenty of time to "love" it. read more

I have wasted money shopping other places for fans and lights that end up being disappointing and then having to be replaced. Walked in not too long ago searching for lamps to fit my bedroom theme. Jaime explained to us the layout of the store and we found the lamps we wanted instantly. We recently purchased a new home, and consequently, needed a lot of lamps. We'd driven by this store many times without really paying much attention to it until now. Upon going in, we realized that their prices are a bit higher.... if you're looking for just a lamp to get by, Home Depot or Target will probably do the job. But for something that will last and is more of a quality, eye-catching addition to the room, Lamps Plus is the route to go. Every time we've been in, the salespeople have been helpful and friendly. One of the many (10+) lamps we bought was defective and couldn't be assembled. I brought it back the next day (with the receipt) and had no problems exchanging it.
