I went to Lamps Plus after being fed up with a dimly lit office in which I squinted to see everything after the sun went down. They have an incredible selection of all things lights ranging from pendant lights, chandeliers, track lighting, accents and sconces. I inquired with Dianna, a helpful and knowledgeable resource, who advised on the best light for my office. I actually came in for track lighting but promptly shifted my focus to a beautiful Sputnik style pendant light which was way beyond my price range. Dianna then showed me a gorgeous crystal display Possini light that was on sale. She inquired as to the lights purpose (I wanted a dimable bright task light- think sewing, projects, homework) and whipped out her calculator to compute the wattage and lumens. She aptly pointed out that the cheaper light was actually brighter. I would never think to do this. This lady is a pleasure to work with and really knows her stuff! I am seriously so thrilled with my new light and am so happy to have found such a great deal on something that makes a statement. Very disappointed. I took a burned out 100 watt tiny light bulb from a ceiling fan purchased in 2015 to the store and was given a "replacement" bulb with an confident assurance. I expected this light bulb to be adequate since the original lasted 7 years. Instead it was "mood" lighting (low light) with a somewhat orange pale glow. I returned it to the store complaining about this supposedly 100 watt halogen bulb. The young lady confidently handed me another small 100 watt halogen replacement bulb. The amount of light from the second bulb is about what one small candle would emit. Lamps Plus, you have lost my business. read more

I have heard wonderful things about these products in this store so I had to see for myself. Unfortunatley, they have to train their employees to be more professional and kind to everyone. I walked in ready to buy a few things. I saw 2 employees behind the counter. No one greeted me nor even acknowledge my presence. It felt very strange but still waited to see if they would finally welcome me. That didn't happen. I asked a question and he seemed uninterested. A few minutes later a new client walked in and he made sure he yelled across the room to greet him. I smiled and said "Wow, I wish you would givin me that same warm welcome and respect" He said oh well, I was helping another customer when you came in." Really? There was no one else at the counter. I had to be clear to let him know that I noticed the difference in the treatment and the way they ignored me. It was very unprofessional. I ask about a certain product which he said were around the corner. I walked over there and was there for a few minutes and then along comes the women acting like she had to keep on eye on me or something, she pretended to slightly turn a chair around just to see what I was doing. My advice is to please offer some diversity and inclusion training to these poor Scottsdale people. They seemed uneducated and had no clue how to see me as a person who was ready to spend money in your store. I had to walk out because this is not a business that I will support. Treat everyome with the same respect and your store will thrive. Please do better. read more

This was a horrible experience. After waiting months for our chandeliers to come in, and Swindon over $1000.00, we got it and the directions were terrible. We had it installed by an electrician but it did not look the same as it did in the store. We went back to the store to see what the issue was and they couldn't care less because we did not pay their installers a ridiculous amount of money to install. The manager, Jacob was so rude, he did not even have the courtesy to come out and answer our question. He had his employee tell us, and i quote "i will not provide any information unless they pay for an installer to come out". All we had was a question, yet he didn't even have the decency to speak to us. The instructions that came with the item was horribly vague, and we paid our trusted electrician to install it and even he was confused. I will NEVER shop there again and I would dissuade anyone from going there if they want any type of customer service or a quality item. All they care about is getting extra money and trying to upsell. Horrible horrible experience and I'm appalled that the manager was the worst of all of them! read more

Had somewhat of a bad experience here. Bought two ceiling fans, and the clerk who was checking us out was brand new, and made a huge mistake. What bothers me is that the management was pretty much like "tough Sh*t" when it came to making up for her mistake. So anyway, bought the 2 fans, had to be special ordered, would be there in 2 days. Went to pick up the fans the day they arrived, and one had accidentally been SHIPPED to my home! I had an electrical contractor coming the next day, so I had to buy a third cieling fan, and then drive back and return the one shipped to my house when it arrived. What a pain! No discounts (I asked), no compensation for my time and travel, no nothing but a rude "There's nothing I/we can do." Product was pretty good, got it on sale, and customer service rep (Melodie) was great, but management sucks and I won't be back. read more

I purchased 4 bar stools here that ended up breaking about a month after purchase. At the time of purchase I made sure that I would be able to return the barstools in which they claimed I was able to do so. Fast forward a month and all of the barstools were low quality and breaking down. I called the store about returning them and they said I had to mail the barstools back to the warehouse. Needless to say I did not have the original boxes and either way it is not possible to take apart the barstool stand. I ended up having to pay Fedex $50 to ship these barstools back to return them... I was planning on purchasing lights here as well but not anymore. This goes to show you get what you pay for... poor quality at lamps plus low pricing. read more

It's likely that those who do not live in the desert will not appreciate the importance of a bedroom fan but, when ours suddenly died, finding another was nothing short of an emergency. After calling the Scottsdale store and ascertaining that there was a good selection in stock, I went in person. The salesperson who immediately approached me was Dianna - and how lucky for me! After describing what I was looking for, she said (quoting now) "I know exactly what you want." And she did! Literally 10 minutes later, the fan was in my car. Although we have been to this store before and always came away satisfied, I never thought to leave a review. Updating my recent review of Lamps Plus. Following our first Yelp review I was contacted by Allie, who offered to video conference with me and walk me through the repair process for our ceiling fan. This worked, I have control of the fan again via the remote control. We still ended up with me on a ladder playing electrician, which is not really a good idea It turned out the more difficult part of the job was replacing the decorative cowling near the ceiling, which had to be removed to make the repair. The whole experience adds up to "meh" or "good enough for me." At least the fan turns and the light goes on and off via the remote control, so I guess both sides can declare victory on this one, for now. Thanks for your help and patience, Allie. read more

This has got to be one of the most poorly run stores I've ever been to. I wish I could give it a zero star rating. I just waited for 30 minutes to exchange 2 light bulbs. I was returning the light bulbs because the last time I went to the store, the manager sold me the wrong ones. I also waited close to 30 minutes that time. Both times with a small child, which is difficult to entertain/keep out of trouble in a store like that. The representatives there know very little about the light bulbs they carry and even though there seems to be at least 7+ employees working there at any given time, I've waited an incredibly long time every time to do simple transactions. If purchasing from this store, save yourself the time and look online and have it shipped to you, as you will certainly have the life sucked out of you while you wait to check out or get questions answered in the store. read more

I haven't been much of a fan of Lamps Plus based on prior visits, but boy was I impressed with Ripley when I stopped by yesterday. I was looking for wall mirrors and I felt I was with the manufacturer's product manager. Ripley not only answered my questions, she explained things I wouldn't have thought to ask. Although Ripley is still attending ASU, she reflects the experience and wisdom of a seasoned professional. Ripley has incredible sales acumen. She is able to read people well and respond with the insight that registers with the customer. Enough cannot be said about the mission that Robert (Bob) Mathews went on to make sure we got the matching orb light and secured all of the wall sconces which were out of stock and on sale. I was pleasantly surprised by Lamps Plus. We are currently remodeling our new home and needed new lighting for the entire home. I had been checking out their website which is very extensive and had everything for every room. I think if i really wanted to shop out each item I could find cheaper, but this place was really convenient. We had been at the Great Indoors ( lack luster ) and didn't see anything. This place was 2nd on our list. We managed to walk out with 4 outdoor fixtures, Office light, 2nd bedroom light and 2 bathroom fixtures and all were really cool and offered some sort of design element. I did find the store a bit overwhelming at first, but then slowly figure out the layout. We just walked around and wrote the model number down, this makes checking out much easier. Their service was good and friendly in fact we got HOOKED up big time and really appreciate what the sales rep did for us. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for lighting needs. They also carry ceiling fans, mirrors and some carpets/rugs. The selection is the largest I have seen in the valley when it comes to lighting. read more

We gutted our home for a complete remodel and add on. Currently I'm in the process of choosing light fixtures and ceiling fans for home. Budgeting about 4k. I went to Lamps Plus to do some comparison shopping. Being Labor Day (sales etc) it was busy and the wait was long. I understand and am ok with that even though I do feel that they could institute a better system for arriving customers. So, after waiting 45 min a sales lady came to help. We had specific questions regarding mini pendants. When I asked her to help us with looking at additional options she handed us her card with the web address and told us to go online and then come back!! Really?! I have recently moved to Fountain Hills from Chicago. Buying a house and designing it from a blank canvass has been a process. I went to Lamps Plus because I saw a dining room fixture on-line that I thought would be perfect. My sister and I were approached by Bob Mathews. I showed him a picture of what I wanted. He asked for a picture of the room it was going in and the look I was going for. He had another suggestion. I took it without consulting my husband because I thought it would be perfect. I was shopping at this store, and the experience was very bad. When I bought the light, they didn't tell me they were just entering my order into their website there on their computer. I was in the store. They have really poor customer service and in hindsight I realize they are overpriced compared to others. Their customer service department will not answer the phone. Go ahead and try calling. I waited for a half an hour and finally hung up. If you click their chat button, it says you've reached them outside of business hours, in the middle of the day. I finally had to email them. The scenario is I ordered a light less than 24 hours ago from this store. I tried to cancel it because I realized it actually does not fit my needs and the order status still says it is only "Ordered" and not "Shipped" yet. They refused to cancel the order. They said via email they are shipping it to me anyway, having me request a return once it gets to me, then Ship it back, then wait 7 business days (so by now we are talking 2-3 weeks) to get the large amount of money I spent and the correct light, when they could just stop the shipment in their warehouse like Amazon, Wayfair or anybody else. When I told customer service that this is silly and I won't be buying the replacement light with them because of how inconvenient their business is, the rep sent a template "We hope to meet your lighting and home decor needs in the future." They really don't care once they get your money. read more

Amazing customer service. After looking for a chandelier at numerous high(er) end places, I came across one here that I loved. In my excitement, I ordered the gold rather than the silver I wanted and was able to reach customer service quickly. The order was changed right away and with minimum stress. When it arrived, I called CS again because it appeared that one of the LED bulbs was not functional; Petra was so kind, so diligent in making sure that not only did we get a resolution but that it be done ASAP (she knew I had relatives coming for Thanksgiving). I cannot say enough about the service. The fact that it was done with a "virtual smile" made it all the more easy (after a bad experience with condescending CS at Jonathan Adler, I was a bit jaded). read more

I called the Scottsdale location one day and spoke with Kammy the store manager who was very friendly and helpful! I was looking for a chandelier that I had seen online on another website. She said they don't have it on their website but she could get it for me and also price match what I found on a competitor's website!! Wow!! I was so impressed!! We could have gone with the other company but I chose to go with Lamps Plus because of their excellent return policy. Most companies will allow you to return if you don't like the product but they charge a hefty restock fee! Kammy mentioned that they offer free in home design service if I was interested. I was because I needed a few chandeliers and pendants and could use a designer's eye. She gave my number to their designer, Laurie who called me the next day!! Review for Laurie: I've worked with designers before and they are very conceited and don't take into consideration what you want. Not Laurie! She is not only professional but genuinely friendly. She will always give you her honest opinion but always encourages you to choose something that you will be happy with for a long time. She sincerely wants you to be satisfied with your selection. Though she is extremely busy due to many clients, she is always good in replying within a timely manner. I am so glad Kammy told me about Laurie!! We couldn't decide which dining chandelier to go with so we ordered both. They were so accommodating!! We had the chandelier from the competitor's website shipped to their store in case we did not like the finish on it. To help us decide, one of the men at the store partially put together the chandelier so we could see it lit up. Now that is what I call 'customer service'!!! This is just one of the many examples of exemplary customer service we experienced! So refreshing as it is lacking in many industries! We finalized our decision and placed our order recently and can't wait to see them installed!!! They offer installation service which we purchased because it is covered for two years which is nice and comforting to know they will take care of it should anything go wrong.
