There were some hiccups with the delivery and Bambi went above and beyond to find solutions--she even planned to get two of her employees to come help with the delivery (since there was an issue with the white glove delivery) and was planning to pay them out of her own pocket to help me. Even though they didn't end up coming, the fact that Bambi was willing to plan all of this to ensure I got my couch was amazing and I'm truly grateful to her! Found an LED desk lamp at their store on sale for $44.98 but when I went to pay for it the cashier told me the price is 129.99. She told me the sale ended but no one changed the price yet. We recently went to Lamps plus to find a few ceiling fans for our house. Our salesman John Vilchez was very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and patient. He explained to us the options for different fans and helped us find the best ones for our house. They were able to order the all the fans and ship them to us, I didn't think they'd fit in my car! Purchased two minka aire fans from Lamps plus. Had there installation company install them. 6 hours of work by Cesar and Luis. Tough job cement ceilings. They worked very hard and did an amazing job. Staff here are very nice and friendly. They have a good selection of contemporary and modern looking ceiling lamps (unlike places like Home Depot, Lowes, etc). The prices are okay, no real good discounts. Biggest negative is the installation process because you have to go to the store and get the light fixture yourself then the person will come install it. Also when the electrician came to our house he tried to charge us $60 extra as a "dressing charge" (to set up the individual crystals in the light fixture). Why wasn't that told to me when I bought it? I had to argue with the manager before they finally agreed to pay half if I paid the other half of the electrician's hourly rate. That experience alone would be why I won't get another light fixture from here again. read more

Just left this store, and if I could give this particular store a -5 I would! This is the 3rd time in three months that I have gone to this store and like another reviewer wrote there was a VERY RUDE woman behind the counter who would not help. I asked someone with a lamps plus shirt for help and she appologized saying that she didn't handle sales but would go and get someone. Unfortunately, she asked (yes) the woman behind the counter, who said she would help as soon as she was done. I waited 20 minutes, and still NO help, she wouldn't even make eye contact with me, or put the person on hold to see if I had a quick question. I even looked around the store for other salespeople to no avail. Unfortunately as I was walking out the door a very nice gentleman asked if he could help me. I told him it was TOO LATE because that rude woman behind the counter just cost the store a $1,000 dollar deal, because I planned on buying four outdoor lamps. Instead I will do business with PotteryBarn, Home Depot, anywhere but here, ever again! Since this was the third time I have had a similar experience, time for employee changes at this store! In reference to my review last April , I would like to commend Lamps Plus for tremendously improving customer service. First off, I would like to say that right after I wrote my review, I was contacted by the manager there, whose name was Jody. She sincerely apologized and I truly felt there was a real concern for my not so pleasant experience. She informed me that she would soon be leaving that particular store but gave me the name of the manager who was taking over. I had decided to go in a few months later and see if anything had gotten better and I was pleasantly surprised. I purchased a lamp and then just recently my husband and I purchased outdoor lighting for our home. The store was very busy when we arrived and we were immediately approached by several sales people who asked us if we needed assistance. The customer service was incredible and I noticed several sales people on the floor helping other customers. I made sure that I was able to speak to Robert, who is the new manager there and tell him how much I appreciated the great customer service. I will be returning there again. I hate to write negative reviews but this one is well deserved. I went to the Lamps Plus location in Torrance, CA right when they opened you would think that the customer service representative would have been helpful but she was not. I had brought in a picture of an outdoor wall mounted lamp that needed to be replace to support the needs of a 14 unit townhome complex. We knew that we could not get the same lamp but something that was similar was required. The customer service representative pointed me to lamps that looked nothing like the lamp that our complex needed. Then she went to the computer and only looked at the first page of 65 pages avaiable in their catalog. She claimed to be a designer but had no clue how to come close to my needs. Then she argued that we needed to change our needs. Unbelievable, our complex needs to replace 50 lamps. I don't usually write reviews, but I feel the need to highlight the EXCEPTIONAL customer service I received from Bambi, the store manager, and Tatyana, my sales associate, at the Torrance Lamps Plus. They truly went above and beyond to help me find the perfect chair to match my existing sofa. This was no easy task! I must have gone to the store 3 or 4 times and each time they would help me carry around pillows from my sofa and cushions from the store from place to place, even going outside, to see how they matched in various lighting. Once I finally selected a chair it unfortunately ended up not being immediately available, so Tatyana went out of her way to try to locate the chair for me, calling several different stores to see if they had one available. She was unable to find one, but after such a difficult search I decided to order the chair anyway. I was already impressed with the fantastic service I had been provided by Bambi and Tatyana, but they really spung into action and outdid themselves after the delivery of my chair was delayed several months. Bambi went through hoops to make sure I was able to get my chair. I was so desperate I was willing to even accept a floor model, so she called every store around to see if they had one that they might be willing to sell me. She even offered to have her employees make a box and send it to the stores in order for them to ship it. In the end, Bambi and Tatyana got me my chair!!! They also offered me a discount due to it being a floor model. I am happy to report that my family room is now complete thanks to Bambi and Tatyana! To say that they showed a true commitment to providing amazing customer service is an understatement. They are a shining example of what outstanding customer service is! read more

I want to recognize Heidi Fernandez, an employee of this location who went above and beyond her responsibilities. I cannot say enough amazing things about her skills and abilities. My husband and I went to look for lamps at the Lamps Plus and met Heidi. After talking to her for a long time and realizing we really needed some expert advice, she offered to do an in home consult (pre- Covid) as we were "challenged" in knowing how to best select the right lighting for multiple rooms. She came over as promised and was such a huge help to us in designing the lighting solutions we needed to complete a remodel in our home. She searched online and in the store to find the perfect lights for each room! I Cannot tell you how incredible she was . Without her help my husband and I would still be looking for lighting! The bulbs burnt out, so I went to Lamps Plus for replacement. My mistake was tossing out the broken bulbs (some had fallen from the 14 foot ceilings). Took photos of track and fixtures to the store. I wish I could write a better review. I've used Lamps Plus successfully over the last 4 or 5 years,but they completely dropped the ball this time. I visited on a Saturday to look at outdoor lights and also recessed lights for my kitchen remodel. I found 2 of the 3 items I needed for the outdoor lights and an order was placed for the 3rd item (matching one of the other items I purchased). I was told the item would be in the store in a couple of days -- it's been a week now. I think I will return the items I purchased and look elsewhere. The other issue is more of a problem. The salesperson I worked with offered me the services of a recessed lighting consultant (her term for the type of service that would be provided) to help with the selection and placement of the lights. I told her I would need the services by Tuesday or Wednesday since my kitchen remodel was starting on Monday and work on the lighting was scheduled for the first week.. ( Apparently the consultant does not work on Saturdays). I filled out a form she gave me and the salesperson told me she would call the consultant that day to arrange the home visit. if it wasn't possible, she would let me know. I did not hear anything from the salesperson -- and still haven't, a week later. I selected my recessed lights elsewhere and worked out the placement with the general contractor managing my project. Lamps Plus completely dropped the ball. There are a lot of choices in buying lighting -- and I don't think Lamps Plus will be on my list again. read more

I purchased a ceiling fixture on Sat IN STORE with a credit card, for delivery direct to my home since they didn't have it in stock. Then around five hours later (!) this bonehead company emails me saying they need my billing address to verify the credit card transaction. Really? They didn't ask for it as such during the transaction, though they certainly could have, AND it was on my driver's license which they DID look at. The upshot is, I doubt this transaction has even gone through, and even if I were to play their idiotic games it will have delayed delivery. SAVE YOUR VALUABLE TIME - AVOID THIS PLACE. read more

This is a review for Lamps Plus' Installation, as well as Lamps Plus (retail store). Lamps Plus' Installation (electricians Harout and Ed) were amazing and fantastic. They installed a chandelier in the kitchen as well as a light in a closet. They were one of the most nice and courteous people I've ever met!! That, plus they did their job start to finish in a most competent and efficient manner. They even did a couple things above and beyond, like painting a silver opening in the ceiling plate a black color to match the chain; as well as took the duster from me to sweep away a spider web on the ceiling (I took the opportunity to clean as the table was finally moved out of the way and a tall ladder was there anyway!). Good job to Lamps Plus for hiring these guys! Lamps Plus, the store, has always been great and I appreciate Elizabeth who kept us informed about the status of our chandelier order, and coordinated the installation date and price, always in a friendly and professional manner.
