Lan Viet Market located in the North Market downtown serves authentic and delicious food inspired by the culture of Vietnam. Today I ordered DoorDash takeout. Everything arrived hot and well packaged from the restaurant. Ordered: 2 Summer Rolls 1 Tri Tip Steak 1 Grilled Pork Pho Value: Total cost was $35. The portions were large with fresh ingredients so I felt this was a good value. Everything was delicious! The broth for the Pho was soooo good! Everything was fresh and a great balance of savory, sweet and spicy. Be sure to give this place a try!

Find more reviews & photos on my Instagram @betseat hot but valid take - best pho in cbus & my favorite Sunday hangover meal !! comment your fave pho place - always on the quest for a good one. Lan Viet offers amazing food, great portions for a very fair price. They are super quick and take-out friendly - easy to reheat & parking is accessible for in and out run ins. Let's Eat: Beef Pho - the 24 hour broth is to die for, the broth is the foundation and essence of pho and they crush it!! I love how the beef is barely cooked so it cooks in the broth and the toppings are simple to let everything shine through. I do wish they gave you more noodles - sometimes the ratio is off. I split this portion in half and reheat the broth separately and put the noodles and meat in at the end so you get two meals in one! 5/5 Beef Bahn Mi - the beef is perfectly marinated and grilled stuffed (literally stuffed so much meat) in a baguette and paired with pickeled vegetables and Mayo. the pickeled vegetables cut through the marinated meat. 5/5 Hot Sauce - the hot sauce gets its own bullet point cause it's perfectly spicy, seasoned, acidic - I pair this with my banh mi & pho and always ask for 2 on the side. Need them to bottle this up and sell it plz.

I've been getting chicken pho from Lan Viet in North Market for years! In my opinion, they're the best pho in all of Columbus! The staff is always super nice and very fast. Great portions! The pho comes with a little container with basil, bean sprouts, a few jalapeño slices, a lime, sriracha packet, and hoisin packet, as well as chopsticks and a spoon. I crave this pho often, the depth of flavor of the broth is unmatched!! I love the vibe of North Market too, so always a perk when I can go there! If you eat in, just be sure to take your pho bowl back downstairs, so the staff doesn't have to go searching for it. Definitely recommend!!!

I enjoyed my meal from Lan Viet! If you're craving something on the healthier side I think the rice and noodle bowl is a great option. I tend to prefer things with a lot of flavor and spice, and thought this could have used a bit more seasoning/flavor, but I also am newer to Vietnamese food so I'm sure there are other items or sauces on the menu I could have added to get more flavor. The service was fast and the food tasted fresh, I'll be back to try different items! And will still get the rice and noodle bowl if I'm craving something lighter.

I don't know if other people are like me, but I'm super picky with my pho. The standard for me is the one from my hometown where I go everything I'm back home. The broth needs to bring a certain level of flavor to the dish (but not too much), the noodles have to be cooked just right, and it needs to come with the right accoutrements (e.g. jalapeños, sprouts). The one I got at Lan Viet comes close, which makes me super happy. It's not perfect (I prefer dark meat in my Chicken Pho, and that's not an option here), but they're nearly spot on for most of the key dimensions. I'm so happy to be a 15 min walk from this place and to have tried this bowl, and I'll be back soon for more.

It's ok. It lacks some deep flavors. Service is good . Ambiance is of a fastfood market.

I don't think I've ever been to a Vietnamese restaurant with so many options! The moment I saw the menu, I told my boyfriend, "This is where we're eating today." And I'm so glad I made that decision. The moment we stepped inside, we already had a feeling we picked the right place. The old-school interior, the '70s and '80s music playing in the background, and the overall vibe just made me think, "Yeah, this place is going to be good." We ordered the gỏi đu đủ tôm thịt (green papaya salad with shrimp and pork), bánh bột lọc (tapioca dumplings), bánh mì thịt heo (grilled pork bánh mì), phở tái sườn bò (beef noodle soup with rare steak and beef ribs), and phở đặc biệt (beef pho combo). For the drink, we ordered iced vietnames coffee. The green papaya salad wasn't too fishy from the fish sauce, and I really enjoyed the subtle sweetness and how light and refreshing it tasted. The bánh bột lọc was a 10/10 for me. The dipping sauce and fried onions made it even better. It just disappeared into my mouth! I could've easily eaten more. When we ordered the bánh mì, we didn't really read the description or realize how big it would be. When it came out, we were shocked by the size! I also liked that the vegetables were served on the side, so we could add as much or as little as we wanted. It tasted amazing, and we enjoyed every bite. We actually ordered so many appetizers because we thought the pho portions were going to be small. Based on the reference photos and the price, we weren't expecting the bowls to be that big. But when the pho came out, we were shocked. The bowls were huge! We definitely underestimated the portion sizes here. One thing I noticed about the pho was that it tasted a little different from what I'm used to. The broth was much more herbal and aromatic, with a gentler taste rather than that strong, pungent hit on the tongue. It made me wonder if this is closer to what traditional Vietnamese pho is supposed to taste like. Just a heads-up, you pay at the counter when you're done eating rather than waiting for the server to bring the check. On our way out, we also grabbed a steamed rice cake to take home. Definitely try one if you see them because they're so good! I actually think they taste even better at room temperature rather than heated up. Everything we ordered came in such generous portions, especially for the price. Nothing tasted overly salty or overpowering, which I really appreciated. Everything tasted fresh, and I was genuinely impressed by the quality, portions, and value. I'm so glad we decided to try this place. With such a huge menu, there are already so many other dishes I want to come back for!

Don't judge the book by its cover!…read more If you want an authentic Vietnamese food look no further. Service is very quick all the time, food comes out fresh and piping hot, reasonably priced and generous portions. If you're in a rush and haaangry this is the placeto be! Happy tummy!

Quick and attentive service. We started with crispy dumplings (6), crispy egg rolls (2), and a scallion pancake. Bing, their crepe, wasn't available our night. My dining companions loved the pancake - for me perhaps a bit too much drizzled sauce. It was helpfully quartered when brought to the table so sharing was easy. The dumplings were indeed crispy and probably my favorite with a standard dark dipping sauce. The egg rolls were standard and perhaps a bit undersized and over fried, but a good creamy dipping sauce was a pivot away from the sweet chili sauce that usually accompanies such apps. Ramen is clearly the focus of the menu and three of us had ramen with chicken and one with pork. They spoke favorably of the broth and the combos of mushrooms, boiled egg, greens. I had the rice vermicelli with chicken that they called a salad. I was expecting the classic Vietnamese staple but this one had some adaptations, perhaps to a fusion or one might say less ethnic nod. Small things but the ample portion served in a small bowl made it hard to mix the rice noodles, lettuce, carrot, cucumber and chicken that is a common approach to the dish after drowning all the ingredients in both sweet sauce (nuoc cham), siracha and/or hoisin sauce. It only came with the nuoc cham. They brought Siracha when I asked for it, but I'm a fan of having these condiments on the table standard. Again, had the sense that the business lunch crowd that is probably the primary audience isn't likely to be as focused on the more authentic ingredients. The chicken was also not grilled and sliced but had a pleasant preparation. Just know it won't be the charred flavor that is so common. Finally, not to obsess on this one dish, but cutting the lettuce leaves more would enable easier chop sticks combos of the ingredients in single bites. Overall it worked for us. I am definitely the most focused on (my companions would say obsessed) on connection to what these dishes should be. If adaptations work well for you, Tiger+Lily likely will as well.

I got mild with the spicy sauce on the side, and the jerky itself was pretty hot. The spicy sauce was not any more spicy, but was very flavorful. The jerky was thin, and crispy. Not all that different from some regular jerkies. Very good. A big portion. Came with perfect sticky rice. There was a fair amount of heat in everything except the rice. I like heat, but if you don't, order carefully. I believe there is a no spice option below the mild. Portions are good, prices are good, food is fantastic. Order was ready on time.
