I'm not too familiar with the prisons of California, but if they are all like this, the process for visiting inmates should be a fairly painless one. Only people visiting inmates are allowed on the property, meaning that you can't have anyone waiting in a car in the parking lot. Also, they do have a dress code, but the most important thing to remember is to not wear denim. They check your I.D. on the way in, as well as on the way out. They are strict about this rule, but they are gentle in enforcing it. Located in the parking lot is a bungalow for the Friends Outside company. This is a place where you can leave your personal belongings that are not allowed on the prison grounds, including your phone and wallet, and they will also provide you with clothing if the ones you're wearing don't meet the visiting criteria. The woman I talked to in the bungalow is very sweet, and it's clear they are very empathetic towards the people who visit them. The guards in the visitor are very friendly. They were very helpful, and amazingly keep their cool when faced with upset visitors. The process goes by very quick if you have an appointment. If you don't, you could be waiting there for hours. Only dollar bills are allowed in the visiting area, and I had to learn this the hard way, seeing as I only had a five-dollar bill on me. They have a change machine that doesn't work, and apparently hasn't worked in a long while. After walking through the gate and onto the prison grounds, a guard noticed that I was lost, and very happily showed me the way to the visiting area. The visiting area was packed on this specific day. Prisoners work to clean up the area, the tables, and to make sure people are comfortable. They have vending machines lining one wall, and a photo area in the corner of the room. The guard at the front was nice, not only to the visitors, but to the inmates as well. When it comes time to leave, they give you a few more moments to say goodbye, instead of ending the visit abruptly. This prison understands the basic human needs of everyone involved, and the people who run it are doing what they can to make sure those needs are being met in the best way possible.

California Code of Civil Procedure - CCP § 430.41…read more In California, before filing a demurrer, the demurring party must "meet and confer" with the party who filed the challenged pleading. This involves a discussion, either in person or by phone, to attempt to resolve the issue without court intervention. The meet and confer must occur at least five days before the responsive pleading is due. The defendant's attorney lied and said she tried to reach me by phone! The demurrer automatically gave her 30 days more to file her answer to my complaint. I checked my cell phone records for a call from that attorney, and there was no record of a call. I called the attorney and asked her to send me her phone record. She sent me her phone record, and the call was only 4 seconds long! She dialed my number and hung up immediately. She didn't have her answer ready so she lied in order to get 30 more days to respond. She committed perjury, and I charged her with perjury in my complaint! The clerk at the Antelope valley courthouse accidentally filed the limited case at their courthouse. Michael Antonvich in Antelope valley does not handle limited court cases, so the case was transferred to the Spring Street courthouse in Los Angeles. The commissioner that heard the case was not interested in the fact that the attorney committed perjury! My case was against a government agency. When big money government agencies are involved, the lying crooked judges and commissioners will take bribes! I am sure most people have watched Judge Mathis. He has thrown out many cases for perjury! In fact, under this civil code perjury is mentioned!

I came to visit friends that weren't going to trial so I can say - listen, if you have to go to this courthouse... you have no idea what a hassle it is to go to other courthouses in LA County. This one at least has parking, friendly and helpful staff and a very new, clean facility. I also felt safe there. It's hot as hades there but... that really isn't the courthouse's fault. You're in the high dessert. Bring sunscreen. I got a tan just driving there.

Very pleasant visit at the Lancaster DMV!…read more It was time to renew my driver's license and I chose this location. The parking lot is large and a big beautiful American flag waves with a California flag underneath it on the flagpole. The building looks contemporary and was very clean inside. Lots of seating. There's several postings as you enter with QR codes to scan so don't forget your phone! You'll need to scan the QR code to get in line. If you have an appointment, like I did, you can bypass the line and click the link inside the reminder email that the DMV should have sent. The visit was quick once I was called up for a confirmation of my application, visual test and a new picture. Everyone was friendly including the female law enforcement officer, who helped me find the link in my email! Would return to this location for a friendly and stress free DMV experience. Thank you!

Her name is Aqua, an African American lady. I was there for a simple drive license renewal . She asked several times if I had a passport which in which I responded "NO". She raised her voice in a very arrogant and defiant manner as if I didn't understand her question. She then proceeded to enter information onto the computer then when she must of realized something on my profile she expressed the follow statement "MAN YOU HAVE A DRIVERS LICENSE FOR UNDOCUMENTED PPL! " This made me feel humiliated angry and confused all at once, I find it derogatory and lack of professionalism form this employee which was rude and disrespectful. I truly hope some disciplinary actions are taken towards this individual, as she cannot be unprofessional, rude and disrespectful! My kids and everyone around us heard and that a shame SHAME ON her. All the uncomfortable looks , gestures the postures the yawning and murmuring with her African American coworker made my whole experience the worst ever. So unprofessional.
