Old roadhouse suitable for a quick one on the way to Georgetown. Pool table and shuffleboard. The Trump picture on the wall was off-putting.

Let's see how long it takes to obtain our online order this time. Last time it was 45 min after it was supposed to be ready and it was not great. This is the second chance attempt at eating at this establishment. First time we ordered the food had no taste and was not worth the almost additional hour. My husband and I attempted a second attempt and we were completely ignored yet the people who came in behind us were helped. We walked out and went the Shandeys. The ambiance was a cluster with some guy holding a beer ramping up the volume on the tv on a very mediocre band on the tv. So this is the ultimate last time trying this place. I'll update after we pickup our food. Update* We will not be back. We tried. 3 attempts and they've all been strike outs. Sidewinder fries were the only decent thing in our order. Less than 2 pinches of "tri tip" were on both sliders. More of your coleslaw was on them than meat. We did not order veggie. Only 1 door outta 4 doors work?

The…read moreGeorgetown Distillery sits in the former building of the Mark Smith Jeep museum, and it came to life a few years ago by the former owners of Cool Beerwerks as Whiskey and food place. Now, the son Edward has taken over and the menu has been changed to feature sushi, in little old Georgetown. Edward has been making sushi for years previously at Beerwerks, has now taken that experience to running his own place. We've been there a couple times now, and Edward is great. I've been to Japan a couple times, and I casually said I miss traditional Japanese Nigiri (they put wasabi in the rice). Edward said, I can't make for most people cause it's too much, but if you want it I can make it! NO WAY! I said, can it be on the Georgetown Distillery "secret menu"?? He laughed and said sure, just ask. Emilie wanted a roll, but with soy wrap instead of seaweed. Edward said Hmm...I've never made this particular roll in soy, so I'm not sure how it will come out...but I'm up to the challenge. That's how you do it! He set the expectation level, and she said DO IT! Well...it came out perfectly. I've had miso soup, edemame, several nigiri sushi and Emilie has had the coconut curry and "the" roll. All very good.

Felt like we were coming over to a family member's house for a meal like we do every Sunday. We ordered the breakfast burrito (eggs were super soft and each bite was evenly distributed between all the fillings), lake Finnon omelette (lots of sweet savory ham), and the fluffiest buttermilk pancake. We also got a warm cup of coffee, refreshing lake Finnon sunrise, and a fried doughnut (doughnut was the perfect amount of sweet and crunch). We also loved the sweet fruits and potatoes which were fried to a nice crisp with soft interior. Place is super clean and quaint. We will definitely stop by every time we are in the area. The service was extremely friendly and you can tell that everyone was excited to make something great. I got the grilled Brie sandwich with mushrooms and caramelized onions and I added bacon but I should have added a patty. It was a good sandwich but needed some extra crunch, like apple/pear slices if not adding a patty. My boyfriend got the pulled pork sandwich and he absolutely loved it. The sauce had an orange tang that worked really well. The French fries were super salty and hot and fresh and we really enjoyed our meal. The views outside were great! Inside was clean but the real views are outside.

First, we loved this place when it was the original owners. It was always a 10/10 experience. However, since the new owners took over, it really has been a disappointing experience each time; we keep going back hopeful, but I think we've hit our limit. The positives: the menu is creative and has expanded, a great outdoor seating area with fun events throughout the week, and one of the employees (younger tall guy) is super helpful and friendly. The negatives: lacking attention to detail, customer awareness and warmth, and longer than normal wait times. Our last visit, we walked in and were hardly greeted though being the only ones there. We ordered appetizers and drinks. We finished our drinks well before our food came out, 45 minutes later. It took so long we went in to check to make sure they hadn't forgotten. The table next to us was also extremely perturbed because their food took 45+ minutes, for it not being busy. One of the guests asked why the hold up on food and the response was: "well it's Thursday after being closed for 3 days and we weren't as prepped as we thought; that's what happens in restaurants. You can take it to go." I also ordered their Macho Salad, which came without any dressing. Just lettuce and a few toppings. It's disappointing to spend a decent amount of money to have pretty poor experiences. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back.

I had the special (not on the menu, don't remember the name) Pork strips, mushroom gravy, spaetzle and a salad. Pretty tasty non breaded pork was tender, mushroom gravy had a nice salty ness to it, spaetzle was soft chewy porous egg pasta though tasteless by itself, good with the gravy mixed in. Mrs had the Hunter's Schnitzel. Essentially the same as my meal with a pounded, breaded thin pork patty. This was good with a fried crunch. Beer and wine served (Trumer German style Pilsner), couple of the owners friendly old dogs wandering around the bar seating, like eating at Grandma's house.
