We had a great dinner at Landry's Seafood & Steak House on the San Antonio River Walk last night! It was the perfect spot for a date night. Our waiter, Davon, was awesome ...he was friendly, attentive, and had such a great attitude. He really helped make our night a great experience. I ordered the Caesar salad and sirloin, and both were cooked and prepared perfectly. The garlic bread and calamari appetizers were also fantastic! Everything we had was delicious, and we really enjoyed our time there. We'll definitely be back and would recommend Landry's to anyone looking for a great meal and great service on the River Walk! read more

Seems to be a Louisiana themed restaurant Interior atmosphere and wall art gives an under the willow tree vibe. Heavily shaded but not dark. Service is friendly and attentive, The restaurant wasn't busy at the time. Shrimp scampi & garlic sauteed spinach Order at 1:29 PM Arrived 1:42 PM The bread appetizer Quite firm bread, dry, not bad but not good either It is lightly buttered and at one point I did taste a small amount of garlic. 4/10 Shrimp scampi On first bite I did receive a very watery un-flavorful pasta, no sauce or coating on the pasta. After requesting it to be re-seasoned the noodles now are quite flavorful and a light coating of the Parmesan sauce keeps them from being dry The spinach inside tasted of a powerful lemon pepper that went very well with the pasta. The tomatoes mixed in have a powerful burst of flavor for their size, very delicious The shrimp however is very very light on flavor. It isn't overcooked or rubbery just very bland. The scampi has large flakes of rosemary you will bite down on. I don't like that part. All together the weakest part of the shrimp scampi is the shrimp everything else tasted fine. Comes with 2 slices of bread they've made into croutons and sliced those slices in half. You can trade them out with another bread. 6/10 The garlic sauteed spinach I received also was not flavorful. It is very watery and I don't taste any garlic or life from it. I do taste something very bitter every now and again that did not taste like garlic. 2/10 Maybe it was an off day but based on the wait staff and atmosphere of the building, it may be worth another visit to try the salmon, the steaks, and the Louisiana Creole Dishes. Overall 5/10 experience High marks to the waiter who served me, prices, and atmosphere. The portion sizes is quite nice as well. The atmosphere does exude that it is a place for fine dining but the silverware says otherwise. The food however did not taste very fine or fulfilling at all. At a glance there is a nice array for wine tasting I however just didn't have the time. read more

Well I'll be...! We should have been to Landry's sooner. Hubby and I ended up at Landry's riverwalk after our first choice was packed. This turned out to be the best plan B we could've chosen. Everything was 10/10. I started with a Raspberry Lemon Drop and hubby had an Old Yet Fashionable. (An Old Fashioned with a twist). Drinks - 10/10 Appetizer- Fried Calamari, 10/10. It also had fried green beans and artichokes in it. Main Course- My dish, Flounder + Shrimp Piccata that came with a bowl of Lobster Bisque, 10/10. My husband's dish, Shrimp + Crab Primavera, 10/10. Dinner was better than expected. It's a great place for a date night, casual dining with friends, or even large groups. They also have private dining spaces that can accommodate up to 50. Our waiter, Chris Clay was absolutely amazing. He was attentive, genuinely helpful and made the night memorable. We stopped into the bar to get the purple part of the sip around the rainbow drinks for Pride month. We got the violet dream drink. The service was great even though game 7 of the spurs game was on and everyone was watching. The entire bar was into it and cheering the spurs on. We didn't save room for dessert but ordered it to go. It was fantastic as a treat later. The location is right on the famous Riverwalk and offers indoor or outdoor dining. I like this location much better than the one on Canal in New Orleans. It's more sophisticated and refined. The main dining room is on the lower level near the River Walk and the bar area is upstairs at street level. My friend and I stopped in to check out their happy hour. Sadly, we had already eaten because the happy hour bites sounded tasty and were reasonably priced - ranging from $7 - $10. I ordered a Raspberry Lemon Drop & my friend got the Landry's Famous Mai Tai. Both were a great deal for $6 and were expertly made. We had a delightful conversation with the bartenders - one of whom it was her first day. Next time I'm in San Antonio I'll be sure to come back for Happy Hour, which is Monday - Friday 3 pm - 6 pm. Stopped in upstairs at the bar for an early dinner. I had a couple of Shiner drafts, the Enbrochette appetizer and the steamed mussels, all HH menu items. The beers were cold and the food was good. For only a few people in the bar, the food took quite a while to come out, but the price was right and I wasn't in a hurry. Solid place for seafood on the river walk. read more

We had an excellent meal here on a business trip. Five of us shared a great evening out thanks to awesome service and a really fun menu. The seafood here was excellent, especially the snapper and Mahi Mahi. We had some nice appetizers and the portions were huge. Overall, great experience in a traditional yet relaxed setting. We sat on the riverwalk to eat lunch. Was pretty crowded but the waiter changed out table so we got a better seating area. Food was very delicious, although I wish my shrimp cocktail had more than 5 shrimps as that was the only plate I ordered. We celebrated a birthday at Landry's during a vacation in San Antonio. We were pleasantly surprised by the service, quality of food, and value. When I read some of the reviews, it seems that some people found the pricing to be overpriced and the food to be just ok. While the prices weren't cheap, I felt that they were reasonable, considering the quality of food and the setting. Our server was Jacla, and she did an excellent job taking care of us. We started with Oysters Rockefeller as an appetizer, which was our favorite dish. For our main course she had their seafood pasta and I ordered a trio plate of red fish, andouille sausage and beans, and crawfish étouffée. Everything was tasty and the portions were generous. If you are looking for a good seafood restaurant along the river walk, I think you will be happy if you choose Landry's. read more

We decided to stop at Landry's as we were walking along the RiverWalk. Although we didn't have reservations, we were seated right away (we came before the dinner crowd). Raven was our server and her energy is contagious! She shared some menu ideas and answered any questions we had. We ordered the clam chowder and we shared the fried seafood platter (so much food). Everything was delicious. The clam chowder was seasoned wonderfully with lots of clam and potatoes. The fried seafood platter was overflowing with scrumptious fish, shrimp, and oysters. Raven checked on us regularly and we just couldn't get enough of her bubbly, uplifting personality. As dinner came to an end, Nate stopped by to check in. His genuine care for the customers was evident. It was almost like we were sitting in his dining room at home. Do we recommend Landry's? Yes, we sure do! Hubby and I were there during Fiesta and the food was amazing!!! Sitting next to the infamous Riverwalk, we had beautiful weather in the atmosphere was clean and beautiful and festive. Not sure why this place doesn't have a better rating. Came in with a group of 8 celebrating 3 birthdays and somehow the staff made every single one of us feel like the guest of honor. Nate (AGM) was hilarious and welcoming. Made us feel like we were regulars on our 1st visit. Liz, our server, was on point the whole night. Friendly, fast, and made the chaos of a big group feel smooth. The bone-in ribeye and chicken plates were spot on, cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. Even the sourdough rolls disappeared in seconds. And we all had 3 asparagus!! Not sure why so many complaints about the asparagus. They were great also! Perfect spot for celebrating or just enjoying good food with great people. Huge shoutout to the Landry's crew for making it a night to remember. Not a high end steak or seafood house by any stretch. Service was bad and the food was even worse. Only reason for the second star is the nice ambiance of the location on the riverwalk. Our food took over 45 minutes, 1st round of drinks took about 25 minutes and the 2nd round even longer. For a not-busy Tuesday night, our server acted like they were the busiest they've ever been. She claimed that they ran out of steak knives and bill/check holders.... At a "high end" dining establishment we were handed bare receipts in no folder. My pregnant wife's mocktail came out with the checks 30 mins after ordering it- and we were still charged for it. By and large the most disappointing part of our experience was the food. Our 60 dollar steaks were cooked correctly but were fatty, non-seasoned, and tough, they weren't even served with butter or oil, we had to ask for steak sauce (crusty A1). The alleged 14 oz cut of strip steak couldn't have been more than 10 oz. The 60+ dollar filet didn't even resemble a filet. They were served on big plastic plates with a scoop of mashed potatoes, clearly made in bulk as if a middle school cafeteria. For 4 people spending over 300 dollars, wow was it disappointing. At the end the waitress was going to bring the manager out to speak to us- but then must have changed her mind because she came back alone, thanked us for coming, and wished us a nice night. I have had better experiences at Applebee's for under 100 bucks. Avoid! read more

While I cleaned an area of the house, I found gift cards to Landry's Seafood House which were gifted for Dad to enjoy. We headed there last Sunday to enjoy lunch. Dad had Lemonade, Hubby had the Arnold Palmer, and I had the Berry Faux-Jito. Dad started with the Lobster Bisque while Hubby and I had side salads. Dad and I shared the Almond Crusted Mahi Mahi. We've been here a few times over the years. Servers are usually helpful, friendly, and informative. The food has been pretty hit or miss though. For the prices, they really shouldn't be having as many misses as they do. Fortunately the last time we visited the food came out fresh and hot, and we really enjoyed the seafood platter. It was a huge portion and came with fried fish, fried stuffed shrimp, fried oysters, fries butterflies shrimp and shoestring onions and fries. They do have a happy hour in the upstairs bar area if you time things right. When we went recently, the bartender told me it's on weekdays only, but when I looked it still shows a daily happy hour. If you are a Landry's member, it's worth giving it a shot if you are looking to dine on the Riverwalk. read more

Our server was Michael Rivera and he was excellent. He made recommendations and I chose the Chilean Sea Bass let him decide on how it was prepared. It came out beautifully plated, was delicious. My girlfriend ordered blackened swordfish based on his recommendation it was just as good. After we were done he gave us some great information about the River and surrounding areas.
