It's the kind of place you go when you're drunk and don't mind some odd accompaniments. Dinner rolls for sandwich bread, that kind of thing. Not that I mind, but it comes off as somewhat cheaply put together. I know that it's just a food truck, but I feel that they could offer better food if they had better ingredients. Love love love the garlic chicken, had it once and can't bring myself to order anything else. Crispy chicken, and a mellow garlic flavor that isn't going to last with me all day. It's paired with their mac salad and white rice to complete the plate lunch, this meal is just killer. I love that their truck is now always parked at the Beergarden too! Awful! Shame on you! Worst chicken katsu, chicken teriyaki, and Mac salad I've ever had in my life! Born and raised in Hawaii so I've eaten Mac salad a few hundred times and yours was by far the worst! Chicken katsu was so over cooked and the breading was a disaster! Chx teriyaki was extremely tough and bland. Food took over twenty minutes and arrived cold. I just can't even believe that their cooks have ever even tried these dishes (as they are usually prepared) by the way they tried to imitate them. Absolutely shameful. read more

There plate lunches here are gross. Hands down worst mac salad I have had in my life. There meat seems to be slow cooked big frighten deal anyone can do that, a 12 year old kid can have enough culinary skills to do that. Needs work, also the spam musubi.... Amazing Kailua pork and teriyaki chicken that come with huge portions of noodles! Sesame Asian slaw is also top notch. Super delicious !

Wow what a star find in Eugene! You can find something here for everyone, with neighboring food trucks and a huge beer selection. The food was the best Hawaiian food truck I have ever had! I lived in Hawaii for a bit, and this still could keep up with real island food. I will say, it's not incredibly authentic at time being that their noodles are clearly pre packaged, but I'm not complaining because they taste amazing! Got in the Lani Moku line at the Food Truck Fest last weekend because it was the shortest. The line grew quickly and for good reason. I had a mixed plate with teriyaki chicken and garlic chicken and both were heavenly. The funny thing is, I ordered teriyaki beef, but got the chicken. I didn't care. Lani Moku could throw anything on my plate that comes out of their kitchen and I know it will be an incredible culinary experience. They won the people's choice award at the Food Truck Fest and when I heard that on the news later, I felt like I'd hit the lottery jackpot. Really good food for a lunch break at work! I could definitely go for less rice though. I also found it disappointing when I once got the bowl (where you a smaller portion with just rice and your choice of meat) for $5, when I swear there was only 1/4th of the normal amount of garlic chicken! I wish the garlic chicken wasn't so good, because it takes a long time to drive here and there is generally a crowd, but it is so worth it. I also love that one of the sides is green salad, because I can basically knock out my greens, rice, and chicken in the one inexpensive delicious meal. I ordered the garlic chicken and a couple spam musubi. The garlic chicken was pretty good but the plate was tiny and barely had any rice or mac salad. The real culinary surprise came when I unwrapped the spam musubi. The outside rice was hard and old and when I bit down the inside was COMPLETELY liquified with mold. It immediately stunk up my mouth, covered my lips in slime and coated my tongue in the most rancid taste I've possibly ever experienced. I was horrified. I darted off the road to the closest parking spot so I could immediately throw up. It was one of the most disgusting things that has ever happened on the inside of my mouth. Feeling more than a little irked, I went back to tell them what happened. The lady at the cart listened very briefly before cutting me off, blurting out a quick "Ok" and handing me a slightly less aged replacement musubi ( though I could tell it had been sitting there for awhile just by feeling it), offering me no apology or even a quick display of remorse for the fact that she had just handed me a saran wrapped slab of e. coli. I didn't expect a free lunch for life gift card but an "oops" would of been nice. I'm not a high maintenance consumer but a "sorry for filling your mouth with mold and almost killing you" seemed appropriate in that situation. Instead, all I got was a brief smirk and another possibly unsafe musubi (which I obviously threw away just to be safe). Their food might kill you, but at least their customer service is on point. Upon retrospect, I realized that when she handed me the musubi she pulled it out of a small basket they kept next to the register. I thought that things like canned meat shouldn't be stored at room temperature but hey, I'm no expert, and apparently neither are they. Needless to say, I won't be going back, and if you don't enjoy bloody diarrhea and/or deadly bacteria shredding apart your insides I would suggest you avoid it too. Maybe my mold meal was a fluke, who knows, but as far as my health and preference to keep my intestines on the inside of my body go its not worth taking the risk. In case you haven't read this review or you have already met an untimely end from eating the diseased food at Lani Moku I took the liberty of reporting this little snafu to my local health department. Check out Kalani's Hawaiian food truck, they're right down the street and they've never tried to poison me. Talk about a convenient solution! read more

I go to this food cart most every time I go to beer garden and last night I had an unfortunate experience. We got there and it was pretty poppin with live music so there were a lot of people. He charged me 9.50 for the teriyaki chicken with fried noodles and Mac salad and my friend got beef with rice and Mac salad. we got it to-go since there was no place to sit. After we waited for 20 minutes, we got our Togo boxes and left. We got home (about 10 mi away) and I open our boxes, my friend ordered beef and they gave her chicken and she ordered rice and they gave her noodles and I ordered Mac salad and I got squat. I was actually pretty livid cuz it was kind of expensive and they just kind of messed it all up. I don't want this to affect my opinion of this food cart, but I was severely disappointed and wished I could get my money back for that. That being said, my noodles were good. read more

It's my third time coming. So I show up, the person taking the order is on her phone and asks me to wait a minute before taking my order. I order the chicken teriyaki plate with noodles and a side of Mac. At first she tells me they had noodles and seconds later she lets me know that they ran out and can only serve it with white rice. Minutes later when my food is ready I receive it in an open plate when I specifically had asked for it to go. I look at my plate and the portions are ridiculously small. I and my husband went here on Sunday night around 6pm. It was little crowded but not too bad. I ordered Loco Moco and my husband ordered Katsu. Food was good like other Hawaiian restaurant. Nothing stand out. We tried to ordered Spam Musubi but the guy said they are busy so asked us to ordered it later when slow down. About 30 minutes later, there is no line of people so we went up to the same guy and tried to order it again, and he said still busy so order it 10 minutes later. It's so easy to make it but We kind of got the impression that they don't want to spend time to make Spam Musubi which is only $1.75. For us, if you put it on the menu, then you should provide it to the customer whatever the circumstances are. If you don't want to sell it when we want to order it, then you should take it down from menu. Food was ok so 2 stars, but service was 0 star. Really disappointed since we saw Yelp's good review then we went there. read more

I ordered the Pele Beef with slaw and noodles and was pretty disappointed all around. The beef was grisly on one end, the sauce was too sweet and not quite spicy enough (I know it's not possible to please all people), there was too much sauce, it drowned everything. I would have liked to have been able to taste the noodles better but even what I did taste was average. Some veggies in it would have been nice. The slaw was ok, but also too sweet. I ate about 1/3 and took the rest home and had my girlfriend try it and she agreed on all counts. Even though I wasn't too happy with the food the portion was a bit small for the money. The service was ok I guess. Friendly, but didn't really listen well. I see that there are good reviews here so I will likely try again. Really prefer beef but I like pork too. read more
