After a long day on the road for 5 hours, my coworkers and I were ready for a delicious dinner. Lantana is located near the lobby of the Hyatt in Indian Wells so it was an easy choice to make for us weary travelers. Although she was new, our waitress was attentive and quickly got our drink orders, which was much appreciated given the warm weather. The seared scallops with a leek risotto stood out to me on the menu so when it arrived, I was ready to dig in. The scallops were perfect - tender and juicy and the risotto nicely complemented it. Despite the small looking plate, it was surprisingly filling and we also shared a plate of brussel sprouts which were seasoned well. I have eaten at Lantana a few times, but I had an exceptional meal there on Monday night. It was quiet night, expectantly as it is off season and it ....was... Monday, so the manager Sean Halligan was kind enough to pay some extra attention to me and my dining companion... Tasting all the highlights on the menu - For the first course we tried The Tortilla Soup (a staple), tomato and mozzarella crostini (SO GOOD), and my favorite the Crab cake (All crab, hardly any filler and oh so tasty). For the second course we tried the Jidori Chicken (which was cooked to perfection) and the Scallops (I think this was my fav!) Dessert was Key Lime Panna Cotta - ( which I would have never ordered on my own as I am not a fan of Panna Cotta or Key Lime.. but DA%$ was it good!) - Super flavorful and coconutty! and The Chocolate Peanut Butter Tart - very rich and creamy. All and all a wonderful experience. Chef Geoff Bogard knows what he is doing and Sean Halligan sure knows how to treat a gal! Dined here three times while we were staying here over Labor Day weekend, as the breakfast was complimentary with our stay. Everything we had for breakfast was delicious. Service was spectacular. It's the only decent place to eat at the Hyatt. I had both breakfast buffet and dinner here because. We had 100 dollar dinner vouchers and free breakfast with out room reservation. Dinner - I had the ravioli with excessive amounts of cream sauce. Wayyy to much. I felt as thought I ordered cream sauce with a few ravioli. Plus the inside of the ravioli had too much cheese and cream so it was very overwhelming. I think a red sauce would have helped with balancing taste. Breakfast buffet had a good selection till things started to run out. And there is an older station but by the time the omelette was done my friend were already done eating. Took so long !! The manager walks around like a pompous prick. He was wearing just a polo shirt with no indication he works for the hotel or restaurant. And stoped by to ask how is the meal going in a rude, obligatory way that would have been better if he didn't ask. read more

We're staying at the Hyatt Regency Hotel and booked to include breakfast in our stay. We liked that we were able to go to the restaurant as an option! The ambiance of the restaurant was nice. Very put together with comfortable chairs. However once sat it took a little longer than desired to get served considering the restaurant wasn't anywhere near capacity. The food itself was good, we tried the huevos rancheros and pancake sandwich. The only issue is value. While it's understood that hotels can charge more than a typical restaurant it seemed a little unreasonable to have two pancakes, two small eggs, and a sausage link for $19 - not to mention $5 for a watered down glass of juice. All in all, it was an adequate meal that left you satisfied but there's definitely some room for growth. Interested to see what the room service option for breakfast will entail. read more

Me & Mrs. Nacho & little Nachito ate at this fine establishment two times. Once for breakfast and once for dinner. First of all, I can only say good things about the staff. They are grande friendly. They really do bend over backward to make sure you're happy. Check on you repeatedly and go the extra mile. For our dinner, I wasn't so thrilled about their menu offerings so they special made me a dorado, or as the locals call it - mahi-mahi. It was waay good and flakey. Mrs. Nach had a seafood pasta. I didn't taste it, but I got some good McLovin' that night so I can only assume the Mrs. was happy. ;) Little Nachito was feelin the need for some home cooking...latina style, so we ordered him some chicken tortilla soup. Pretty darn good I gotta say. A little tomato'ee but still delicious and it had lots of chicken to make it a meal. And wanna hear the nicest part that made me sit down to write this review?? Well our waiter saw how much little Nachito liked his soup so said he would make a to go bowl of a little extra soup so Nachito could have more for later!!! Is that over the top or what?? We stayed at the Haytt for a conference. Reviews were not great, but we were short on time, so we opted to try out Lantana, and so glad we did. We were seated immediately and service was amazing. We were checked on several times, drinks filled without prompting, and they were sure to ask if we needed extras by name (Tabasco, Cholula, or ketchup) which I think is helpful. I ordered the vegetable casserole which was sauteed veggies (zucchini, broccoli, mushrooms, onions and more) plus two eggs any style on top with a side of toast. My son had the Cinnamon Date French Toast and is particular, and they were happy to make it his way and bring out extra powdered sugar. The server even packed his drink to go. Also, I believe this restaurant and their menu are what provide room service to the hotel. read more

She constantly went above and beyond for us and even before we had to ask, she brought us everything! One of the best, hardworking, sweet servers I've ever seen. For a quick lunch, I stopped by Lantana at the Hyatt. I have to say their prices are on the higher side for contemporary American comfort food, but I think their food was really delicious. I ordered the fish tacos. Of course, the portions were really tiny as I received two small fish tacos. However, they were quite delicious, packed with lots of southwestern flavors. The only downside is that after the two fish tacos, I was still slightly hungry, but I had only enough time to eat the two tacos. read more

My family and I stayed at this hotel over the holiday and the first night there, Thursday, we were too tired to go out to eat so we ate at the Lantana. First of all, I was surprised that there was only one restaurant on such a large property and even more surprised that the food was not very diverse nor very good. My partner is vegan and only had one dish of choice on the menu. (Not even a boca burger). The waiter had a bit of an attitude like -how dare we not find something on this menu! Finally he suggested a salad (not on the menu) and a plate of veggies(not on the menu) of broccoli, asparagus, brussel sprout, spinach. The veggies came on a separate plate and seemed like they were literally thrown into the microwave to steam and brought to the table, no salt, no seasoning. My son had the tiny shrimp tacos on jicama (instead of actual tortillas) and that too had no taste. We spent most of our time adding stuff to our food for it to taste good. I had the mahi encrusted with nuts which came with grilled pineapples. Is that a meal? What happened to the starch? So I ordered a side of mashed potatoes which came in a tiny bowl for an additional cost. We spent about $60 on our meal and were truly unsatisfied. Needless to say we never ate there again. The secret to dinner at Lantana is that the bar menu is also available upon request. The prices are somewhat more reasonable for pub grub, though the rib eye on the main menu was very tempting. Get the agave fries, though be sure to ask for the guac and sour cream on the side. Two fish tacos with mango and slaw rounded out the meal nicely, and the beer menu has excellent choices to pair. The burgers looked great, as did the sweet potato fries. The atmosphere and service are exemplary, with open air flames from numerous fireplaces and sconces, and staff who are top class. read more

This is the Hyatt Grand Champions restaurant. It's mentioned in some of the Hyatt reviews, but I wanted to give yelpers a heads-up that this is not a fine dining restaurant. We went to Lantana as part of Palm Springs restaurant week. It is more of a coffee shop than a fine dining restaurant and really should have not been one of the restaurant offerings. In particular, it should not have been one of the higher priced offerings. They did have outdoor seating which is always a plus in my book. I try to base my ratings more on food than service but the service was so bad I had to take that into account as it really did affect the food experience. Example: Our entrees were brought out before either one of us had finished our appetizer! That's pretty basic in my book. Food was okay. I had a flat iron steak which was quite good but very small (perhaps because it was part of the restaurant week prix fixe?). They did give us a free drink when my husband complained that I had not received the wine I ordered. I hear this a good breakfast restaurant. People staying at the Hyatt looking for a fine dining experience would be better off going to Scirocco at the Renaissance Esmeralda next door, or one of the many other good restaurants in the desert. We had DINNER at Lantana and were EXTREMELY IMPRESSED by Lantana Restaurant at the Hyatt Grand Champion. Because it was in a hotel, we were not expecting great food - and were we ever surprised. The kids menu included nice, healthy items - our son had a halibut steak, quinoa, and carrot salad-! The adults had tortilla soup (very good), the lantana salad (a mix of a greek and caesar salad - one of THE BEST SALADS I've ever had), and the Flat Iron steak (on DELICIOUS potatoes and with flash-fired broccoli). My friend and I were in town for Stagecoach and were in dire need of vegetarian food that wasn't just cheese pizza. We stopped in the restaurant prior to leaving on the shuttle to grab some food. I dined her on my last day at Palm Desert. The breakfast buffet was very luxurious. They had countless stations to create your own omelets, smoked salmon, arrays of bread, a wide variety of cereal choices, bloody mary, mimosas, & other breakfast related food. You can also order from the breakfast menu but many do the breakfast buffet. It was a high end breakfast to top off our relaxing weekend in Palm Desert. It definitely shaped the whole Hyatt experience of luxury especially since a lot of upper class men retired around the area. For 4 adults, we paid nearly a $100 for breakfast. As much as I enjoyed it, I would not go back. It was a good experience but my family was also part of the Regency Club. The Regency Club had very similar choices as the restaurant. Of course, the Regency Club did not have an omelet station. However, they were nearly similar in their breakfast food. The Regency Club does cost extra for your stay at the Hyatt but it is well worth your money in Hyatt's Palm Desert. read more

The eggs were cooked just right. Most places overcook eggs but these were great. The potatoes were tasty as well. If you come here don't bother with anything else. Service was also good and since the breakfast was free the price was right 2nd morning was ok at best. another free breakfast. I could not decide so i got the weekend buffet. Meh! typical buffet. My wife got the sticky bun french toast and that was very good. If you get the IW eggs or the sticky bun french toast this restaurant is pretty good other wise is expensive for what you get. We stayed for 4 nights at the Hyatt here with friends and ate in the Lantana for a number of breakfast/lunches and dinners. All of our meals were very good--something I find is not usually the case in hotels. (Tip: Try the Cali Benedict). We often ate outside because it is just so lovely out there by the fire pits. You can really relax. And that is what it is all about. And our servers were terrific. We had conversations about the local area and more with them. If you go for drinks to the bar area and sit outside, just a warning, that service is really slow. (I know how to sell more drinks--hire more people!) But we had a lot of time on our hands:) read more

My husband and I cosmetics every year, and the food has always been amazing in the past. This year you come up and order for the same price as you would have used to pay, go get your own coffee and water and find a table outside. They bring you your food but that is about it. When we received our food the patatoes were cold and the bacon was as cold. It was extremely disappointing from past experiences. Especially when your paying the same price. First off, this is not a fancy restaurant at all; it's definitely casual and there were lots of families having dinner. We sat outside and while it was 108F, they had the misters on so it was bearable and actually somewhat romantic. The food wasn't memorable but the service was fantastic. Lantana is a restaurant located inside the Hyatt Regency in Indian Wells. We've been coming here for years, and while we enjoyed the food in the beginning, we've noticed a big decline in the quality of the food and service (ie, kitchen service, not the waiters/servers) over the past few years. If I only consider the flavor of the food items, it's not bad. The food is usually seasoned well. However, food is more than just the flavor. Certain items should be hot (others cold), not overcooked (or under cooked), and should start from fresh ingredients. Unfortunately, our last visit was very disappointing. For example, for dinner my daughter ordered a petite filet (medium plus), but the chef overcooked the steak. Not once, but twice. For breakfast, I ordered their chilaquiles, but some of the fried corn tortillas were stale and the meal was cold. They took it back to be reheated but I think they just microwaved the dish because it was heated unevenly - some spots were hot and others were lukewarm. And some of the tortilla chips became soggy. Simply put, the quality of the food was disappointing, especially since we've had great meals at Lantana in the past. Furthermore, given how much they charge for a meal, it's not worth eating here anymore. There are far better places in the local area, even other nearby hotel restaurants. So unless you're just too exhausted from baking in the sun or swimming all day to venture out, don't waste your money here. read more

Nice breakfast spot in the Hyatt hotel. I very much enjoy their back patio with the overhead water misters. The service is friendly and the food is good. We enjoyed their hefty serving of Chilaquiles. I'd avoid ordering their Huevos Rancheros until they decide to actually make it a real breakfast. The Huevos Rancheros consists of one small tortilla covered with the ingredients but imagine a Taco Bell Mexican Pizza. It's like a small snack and is a complete disappointment for $15 when you can get a big plate of yummy Chilaquiles for $17. The Egg White Omelette with Spinach is super tasty with the Smoked Mozzarella and Cranberry Chicken Sausage. The smokiness of the cheese adds something. The IW Eggs with Mushrooms, Sausage and Smoked Gouda are good too but I think the Egg White Omelette is better. Their burgers are good and I love their Sunday Bloody Mary Bar.
