What we got was indeed unique in what one would expect from a $300 meal, or whatever it was after tax and the lovingly applied new 4% credit card fee which I have never seen outside of a liquor store or where I pump my gas. I had the misunderstanding that this was a fully-booked and somewhat high-end establishment, but unfortunately this was not the case. Plenty of empty seating and our waiter was better suited slanging used cars than fine food. I don't mean that in a mean way, it's just at $150/plate I thought we'd be getting some fancy Valentine's Day treatment rather than the roadside diner experience, and I believe it to be a problem with management rather than the guy himself. One of the waiters literally tossed bread onto the plates like he was playing beer pong, and I think he swung around twice to fill some waters with little other contact. Anyways, for the food, absolutely underwhelming. My wife's tuna looked great, but I ordered a Caesar salad that was literally three full stocks of lettuce with some fish tossed on top. It's funny, I just watched a show where a sous chef made the same kind of salad and the chef had to gently reprimand the sous chef by asking her to "give it a bit of a chop" so a guest wouldn't struggle to eat it. I wish he worked here. My wife had the fish which she said was 'fine,' and my steak was... well... I'm a steak guy, and when the inside is beet red and there's a massive grey band, it means they didn't thaw the steak properly and likely hid a less-than-prime cut with a hefty portion of reduction sauce. The deserts were both a tad dry, the red velvet and the chocolate lava cake. And at the end, the slap in the face with the "credit card price" vs. the "cash price" sent me over the edge. It was only a $13 difference, but its principle and the fact that I'm not a Colombian drug lord carrying stacks of hundos that was the final disappointment. Anyways, it was definitely food, but if there's a Denny's around you I might give that a shot instead for your next Valentine's Day experience.

When you enjoy a dish there and want to have it again rest assured it is the same fabulous taste as your initial time! We have had steaks, pastas, salads ,, pizza and wines and I have loved every dish I tried. The short ribs are luscious . My favorite salad is the beet salad. Always so fresh and so many flavors in one salad! The Pork Chop is excellent too. It's difficult to find a Chef who can get a pork chop just right. This chef nails it everytime!! There is a little area with high top tables Where one can catch a ball game and also one tv in one of the eating areas but they are not at all intrusive. There typically not many children when we are there but when they have been they have been well mannered at very young ages and they make dining fun! I have no negatives which is highly unusual for me (just ask my husband!!)wonderful overall experience. If you want a bit more time between courses just tell your waiter. They are very accommodating!! PS Roy the bartender is really nice and fun. Try it!!

We didn't have reservations and requested to be seated inside. There was a little awkward first impression with the hostess who told us that there was only one inside table left in the back corner. She didn't come across very friendly when we asked if we could see it before deciding if we wanted to sit there or not. I understand they were busy but she was a bit short with us. We were seated in Isabel's section and she more than made up for it. What a gem! She was so friendly and very nice. She made sure to check on us often and we had a lovely time at your restaurant because of her. We are giving this review 5 stars because of Isabel. The seared ahi tuna salad and the ahi tuna nachos were both delicious. The fish was fresh and so very tender with a light dressing. The pulled pork tacos were good too. The brownie dessert was a bit dry though.

Instead, she bit into a sharp chicken bone hidden in the salad--something that absolutely should never happen. This wasn't a small, soft fragment either; it was sharp enough to cause immediate, severe pain and pierced her gums. This is not just a minor oversight--it's a major failure in basic food safety and kitchen preparation. There is no excuse for serving food in this condition, especially something as simple as a salad. We trusted this restaurant to provide a safe meal, and that trust was completely broken. What makes this even worse is that the situation could have been far more dangerous. If swallowed, this could have led to choking or internal injury. No customer should ever have to worry about that when ordering a salad. I strongly urge the restaurant to take a hard look at their food prep standards and quality control, because this is unacceptable. Until then, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

My youngest loved her spaghetti and meatballs and she is usually pretty picky about pasta. I had the butternut squash ravioli and they were rich, creamy, and exactly what I wanted. The AC at our first table was blasting cold air right on us and the staff moved us right away with no issue at all. They were also incredibly kind to my youngest whose birthday we were celebrating. It clearly caters to a sophisticated crowd--very similar in vibe to their Calabasas location. While parking is accessible in the rear, it can get congested during peak season. The menu is extensive with plenty of excellent selections, though the pricing is definitely premium. For instance, a Cobb salad topped with fish can easily exceed $45; while the quality is high, that's a significant jump over nearby staples like Daily Grill. Service was friendly but lacked consistency; our server disappeared mid-meal without a hand-off, requiring us to flag down other staff. Overall, it's a bright, airy, and stylish spot well worth a visit, provided you're prepared for the 'luxury' price point.

I wanted to let some time pass, get through the holiday season and in an effort think some on how I might have made awful better. Having just moved I did not want to cook this Thanksgiving. I made reservations at "The Nest" a few weeks ahead of Thanksgiving I had read a number of reviews here on Yelp. I knew going in they had a lively bar scene with live music. We walk in exactly on time. It's so loud it's hard to speak with the hostess. (I'm a Boomer, a child of the 60's no stranger to, nor bothered by loud music) The dining area is separate from the bar so it should be no problem to be seated in a spot that allowed for dinner conversation. I asked the hostess if they did have a spot that was on the quieter side, she said no problem if we could wait a bit. Here is where things went off the rails. We were led to a table that was in a corner and directly under a speaker with the live music as loud as the bar area. Just to make it 'fun' about a 1/4 of the table against the wall had a slope of about 10 or so degrees. There was an older, thick flat screen on the wall so the person across from me kept hitting her head on it. But let's go to the important part the food. Each of us ordered the Thanksgiving Special, turkey dinner. Which was not only the worst turkey dinner I'ver even had but was the absolute worst meal I've ever been served ever, anywhere... including but not limited to fast food. I am left to assume my asking if we could be seated in a quieter spot pissed off the entire restaurant staff from hostess to kitchen staff Starting with the turkey itself, it was a small pile of shredded dark meat, two of us had shards of bone. Mashed potatoes? It was a small ice cream scoop amount (think school cafeteria service) of hard, cold instant like mix. A table spoon worth of some sort of liquid passing for 'gravy'. The rest was of equal 'quality' Two of us left the majority of the food on the plate. Oh and the pie.... Yeah about the same as the rest. I'm not even going to bother about the level of 'service,' I'll just say it was slightly better than food, cold and only indifferent. And now the part that just left us in awe of the whole thing. The section we were seated in was nearly empty by the time we were done, trying get find a member of the staff to bring us the damn check so we could just get out of there. And here comes a couple in their 20's having a domestic dispute, fortunately that calmed down and they left the area. And then here walks through the dining area a clown.... Yes you read that right a clown, in full clown makeup and outfit. An actual clown. No rhyme nor reason, just sauntering through. And as if this was normal and not at all bizarre. There is some sort of 'selfie' device in a corner. And along come two 'ladies' clearly intoxicated, to pose in front of it acting the fools only alcohol can induce and this obnoxious 'show' went on far too long. Just to add insult to injury the check finally comes with a mandatory 20% "large party" (of four?) gratuity. To be fair since it was a holiday would have left at least that amount normally. I appreciate those who work holidays, giving up family time to serve others. I've worked my share of holidays. I was ashamed and embarrassed, about the whole mess.
