I'm impressed with the food here. I normally eschew hotel restaurants. However, the food here was very good and the service was excellent. They have a wonderful bakery, all their pastries were delicious. First off our waiter Ruben was a first rate five star waiter. Very kind and attentive to our needs. Most of our family had the breakfast buffet on Sunday. Wasn't anything special. The line for the custom on letter was about 15-20 min long. Fruit selection was melons and whole apples and pears. Disappointed that they didn't have any berries or tropical fruit. We stayed at the Hyatt recently and booked through AAA, so we received complimentary breakfast for 2 at Lantana. There were 4 of us staying in the hotel for 2 nights, so we decided to take turns having free breakfast. I know, we're cheap. The first morning my little brother and his friend had breakfast. My brother had the pancakes and his friend had the cinnamon bun french toast. They also got free mini blueberry muffins with their meal. The next day my mom and I went. She had the eggs Benedict, which she didn't really care for and I had the pancakes, which weren't very good either. And we didn't get any free muffins, even though the other tables did! I don't really like blueberry muffins, but it's the principle of the matter. The waitress was nice but not very attentive, but the hostess was wonderful!! The view is great. The pizza appetizer is tasty. The risotto balls aren't worth getting. But never come on a holiday weekend. There were sooo many loud kids running around, and their parents couldn't care less that people were trying to enjoy a nice meal. This place isn't cheap by any means, so it's not right to have your kids ruining the experience. It got better as the night went on and kids fell asleep, cuz as I said it's a great view. We'd come back on an off weekend. Service was fairly terrible too. Waitress barely ever came by and when she did she'd leave before we could ask for anything. read more

Sunday mornings are always busy for breakfast anywhere - Alicia was very attentive, greeted with a smile and hyatt should be looking to promote her! She was amazing!! Definitely deserves this credit. I was staying at the hotel for a conference, and had lunch and dinner here a couple of times. The food was really good, and the desert was even better. I suggest the red velvet cheesecake, it has a bit of a twist, but it's excellent. The creme' brulee was pretty good too. The service was great, people kept stopping by my table to see how things were going, offer refills, etc.. The prices are about what you would expect from a hotel restaurant. Not overly pricey, but not exactly inexpensive either. read more

Ate here in a Saturday evening whilst staying in the hotel - what an error. My partner and I split a pizza and a salad, the salad was about 3 bits of watercress with some bizarre food which I have no idea what it was, the pizza - a margarita had no tomato on the base I know we should have read the menu closer but who has pizza with no tomatoes?!?! I must add I ur server was fantastic and made a real effort the chefs could learn a a lesson or two!! I think they're relying on their guaranteed foot fall from the hotel rather than getting people to come for the quality of the food. read more

We came out on a golf weekend and had $100 resort credit by booking with American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts. Friday night we did dinner at Lantana. Inside was very quiet, surprisingly most people were sitting outside even though it was almost 100 in August. They start you with some bread, it was very salty and you have to ask for butter, interesting. We got the carnivore pizza which was a recommendation by the server, it was really good. I got the mac and cheese for dinner, it was good and the full order was too much food. I ordered the IPA on tap which was from La Quinta Brewing company. The IPA was great, not as hoppy as a normal IPA but great taste. The IPA was $9.5 per, which adds up after a long day of golf where you can drink a few very quickly. There was live music across the lobby at Agave bar since it was a Friday night. We are going to try Lantana for breakfast next time. read more

Can't comment on the food since they could not fulfill our diner reservations (made 1+ mos in advance). Very poorly managed restaurant, which chose not to request a party of two to vacate their table long after their dinner was complete, while our party of 10 waited over 1 hour past our reservation time of 9:30 pm on New Years Eve. Finally walked away (to Vicky's of Santa Fe), which resulted in well over $2,500 in lost revenue for the restaurant and extremely bad will for all in our party. read more

Our parents took us out to enjoy a nice dinner for the Christmas holiday on Thursday. The decorations at the Hyatt wrestle a gorgeous the start of the dinner at Lantana was good the artichokes were amazing the drinks are on point. All up until the food was served everybody's food was absolutely amazing tasted delicious I ordered the scallops and shrimp over grits and when I bit into the scallop all I could taste was ammonia in my mouth. Now any good Chef knows that when the scallops or shrimp or any type of seafood smells like ammonia after it's been cooked it is not to be served because it is bad. When I complained and send it back I was asked if they could remake something unfortunately at that point the dinner and I've been ruined for me I said no thank you. I was not upset to the fact that this it happen things do go wrong especially when restaurants are not super busy I should've known better not to order the seafood. When I was upset about was when the bill came we were still build the $42 for the entrée even though I did not enjoy it and the reason why I did not enjoy it was because it was not fresh not because I just didn't like it. With that said this is terrible customer service I am a local here in the desert and I will never go back to this restaurant for that one reason the management never came over to talk to us. I had dinner on Saturday night, as I was staying at the Hyatt Regency. My server, Jason, was amazing. He was super friendly and attentive. The sea bass I ordered was cooked just right; the salad, however, was overly dressed and not too much to my liking. It would have been better to have ordered the dressing on the side. The following morning, I had breakfast and Alex, my waiter, was also fantastic. A special thanks to Erica, the hostess, who went out of her way to assist me on Saturday and Sunday. Very good food, even better service! Made sure our drinks were never empty and offered us drinks to go, plates cleared right away. My wife likes vanilla creamer and they didn't have any, our waitress offered to whip some up especially for her, other places just say no but she really took care of us. This is the second time I've been here. The first time I was blown away by the food and service. This time we were served by the manager because a large group came in for lunch, we were served after the fact. My salad was so wilted, it looked stir-fried. The chicken on top was overdone. We checked into our hotel late last night and were unsure where to eat. This is conveniently located in the Hyatt and is open until 10 PM. The shrimp penne pasta and crab linguine are good choices. Request a table outside if possible. It was nice listening to music while enjoying the warm weather. There are heat lamps if it gets cold. Pretty unimpressed with this place, over priced, under serviced, and a fairly bland menu. I expected more when I checked in with my wife last night and told her last not leave the property, let's get a great meal here and close out the night at the bar. Well, 45 minutes after we were served water, our food was still not on the tables, the slow service, the waiter never asked if we wanted a drink other than water, and our meal left us feeling unimpressed when we looked at the check, that's when we said leaving property would have been worth it. Normally I don't mind paying a little extra, but I expected to be at least satisfied with my food. All in all I would not recommend. read more

My one pet peeve is the bus boy tried to take his plate before I was finished. Obviously that is how they were taught. In Europe this never happens nor does it happen at most fine dining establishments. I find in very uncouth and rude. Please retrain your staff. Don't let this stop you from eating here! read more

Lantana has a very diverse menu, with things for both adventurous and picky eaters. The bacon wrapped figs stuffed with goat cheese were the best part of my meal! Pasta dishes were also very good. Just a note: the menu is also available from the Agave Sunset bar which is just across the way. The outside patios at Lantana and Agave were both quite pleasant. The heat lamps were a nice touch since it did get just a tad chilly after the sun went down. What really made this meal worthwhile, however, was the service. We actually stayed at the Hyatt Regency and this was the best service we had during our entire stay, though I'm not sure if that says a lot about the restaurant or very little about the hotel. read more

We stayed at the hotel & didn't want to venture out for brunch so we tried this place...we ordered off the menu & it's great! I had the chilaquiles YUMMY! Waffle was delicious...Oj was fresh squeezed...fruit plate was fresh...it was all great. Divorcido egg plate was great too! Our waiter was on point & quick with requests. All in all it was a win win. I was full for HOURS! I will add that we went back for dessert later that night...ordered choc cake...not so good...pass on that. Breakfast & lunch are a win though. read more

We just returned from Christmas dinner at Lantana. I made a reservation over a month ago, and when we arrived they did not have our reservation?!?! Ok, they were nice enough to seat us anyway. Honestly, I expected more. The atmosphere was lacking. Very little decor around the restaurant. Our server was fine. Not great, just fine. The food selection for a holiday like Christmas was much too limited, especially for the price. There were no serving utensils around the dessert items; no soup spoons anywhere to be found. Everything just seemed disorganized. I feel as though they were not prepared. We have a vacation house down here and we try all of the restaurants in the area. I don't think we will give Lantana another try. read more

This was a disappointing Easter brunch. It started off when we approached the hostess stand to tell them we have a reservation, and the hostess yells right in our faces for another guest by name. Then acknowledges us. Rude. We were seated near the kitchen area even though there were other tables available, and it was noisy and distracting to have waiters going by all the time. The food was mediocre at best. Beef and ham were being served along with a few breakfast items and some lunch type items. Hardly the variety I was expecting. We came last year and it was better. The desserts were good, but mostly chocolate candy things rather than nice deserts like cakes, pies, etc. We won't be back. Oh, and when you try to call them to make a reservation no one ever picks up the phone. They want you to leave a message.
