The food is okay. They were quick to make the food. The food, the ambience, and the menu is very American style. My spring rolls were fresh and tasted fine. The carrots and lettuce is not typical. I liked the peanut sauce. The Bun Bo Hue was missing spice and that is the whole point of this beef noodle soup dish ordered. The broth tasted like their pho broth. Instead of offering red cabbage, it was green cabbage which is a lower budget. The pho was not bad. The broth was on plain light tasting. The bowls are on the smaller side.

2/21- Dine in visit - Stopped by in the evening wanted to check out this Pho spot that used to be inside Haven city (food hall). It was really great to see they branched off and opened up their own location . Their growth is amazing especially for the city of Rancho Cucamonga. Came in was warmly greeted by staff and the restaurant was quite busy which is good for their business was seated immediately. Staff was friendly and attentive with wonderful customer service. Ordered the Lantern apps combo which had crab / cream cheese won tons , fire cracker shrimp , egg rolls and pot stickers which all came out hot & ready and fresh with their sauces . Plus the combination pho Dac biet and the new Beef bone rib pho . Broth was flavorful and savory and the great thing they do offer extra noodles for free . Overall the food is great.. price is higher than other Vietnamese restaurants I've been to. In conclusion, the food is good, awesome ambience and decor with quick service and decent Vietnamese food... especially if you are in rancho craving a bowl of pho. Typically, OC and LA areas have the best Vietnamese food options ... but for local this place is pretty decent . It's listed in day creek and baseline which is a heavy traffic area with other food options in the same plaza .

I've been looking at this little Gem since it opened up! I'm so glad I finally got to eat here! Restaurant is very nice and clean inside! The service and servers are very friendly and super attentive! The food is just another level! I was torn as to which pho soup I should try. I elected for the chicken! The broth was unbelievably delicious! It came with the usual bean sprouts, basil and lime. The soup was so delicious that I can't want to try the other versions! I also ordered the firecracker shrimp that was cooked perfectly, they came with a sweet and sour sauce! I was so hungry that I forgot to take a first picture. I'm sorry about that I will get a better picture because this is now one of my top five favorite restaurants to eat at in Rancho Cucamonga! Enjoy Yelp Family! Be Nice and Patient because remember good food is usually made to order! I'm a forever customer!

This place is adorable! The plain Pho is our go-to, so delicious tons of flavor, and their noodles are perfect. The service is great every time, very friendly staff! We order to-go all the time too. We will definitely be back. The Bahi mi is amazing by the way, it is a must try. Very flavorful, and crust tender meat. The bread was perfect, and their noodles sauce they put on it is delicious!

The moment you walk in, you're drawn to the lanterns and the clean green-and-white aesthetic -- even the menu design is beautifully done. The food is all about simple goodness: crispy shrimp that's totally unique, chicken wings that are crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seriously addictive, garlicky noodles you can't stop eating, plus a big bowl of pho that's comforting and truly authentic. Finished with their creative ube coffee -- a modern take on Asian flavors while staying true to authentic roots, definitely a must-try in the Inland Empire. IG: socalhkfoodies

One of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Rancho Cucamonga!! (haven't been to a lot in this area but wow this place is sooo yummmzz) Everything I tried at Lantern Vietnamese Kitchen was genuinely good, but the crab fried rice stood out the most. It was flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and packed with crab -- easily the highlight of the meal and something I'd come back for alone. The fresh spring rolls were light and refreshing, the crunchy chicken salad had great texture and balance, and the shaken beef was tender and well-marinated. Every dish tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared, with no misses across the table. We ended with Vietnamese coffee, which was bold, smooth, and the perfect way to wrap up the meal. Service was friendly and efficient, and the overall vibe made it a comfortable spot for both casual dining and group meals. If you're in Rancho Cucamonga and looking for solid Vietnamese food with standout dishes, Lantern Vietnamese Kitchen is definitely worth a visit

When you walk into Latern Vietnamese Kitchen, you are greeted with a nice aesthetic and calming environment (not too loud or overwhelming). Service was immediately offered, we had to wait 10 mins, but that's okay because they were quick to take our order. When looking at the cafe menu, there are many options to choose from; the iced thai tea was flavorful and not too sweet, and the iced jasmine green tea was great as well. The appetizers we ordered were the vegan eggrolls which were super good & the firecracker shrimp which were average. As for the pho, the quality of the filet mignon was amazing, much better than other places i've tried. Come check them out!!

You know when the food is so good you completely forget you love to take photos and review food? Yeah. That happened here at Lantern. Not pictured was two other lovely soups as well as garlic lobster rice my son got, which we all devoured. I promise I'm coming in and learning all the names. I don't think I've ever been so full in my entire life LOL. I ATE. And then ate more, and I felt like I was going to burst and I still took food home, and the left overs were absolutely astronomical and otherworldly. IF YOU LIKE COFFEE, YOU HAVE TO TRY THEIR VIETNAMESE COFFEE. DO IT. Mine was insane. Sorry I yelled at you. The staff here won't and was SUPER patient with me and all my questions :) VIBE CHECK: it was lit. I'll come back for restaurant pics, too. Very modern. I will definitely be back, indefinitely. All 5 of us loved the food: hubby, myself and my three kiddos ranging from 12 to 8. There was something for all of us!

My friends and I found the closest pho spot off the 210 Freeway and it was a great find. I was hungover, so needed soup so badly. I ordered the Combination Pho ($15.95 for regular), which was still a pretty large bowl. There's plenty of meat and toppings, especially cilantro and green onions. The broth was savory and heartwarming, which really hit the spot. I ended up getting an extra order of the broth ($4.95) too. Overall, clean and nice spot for your Vietnamese cravings. They also have some Thai dishes to throw some fusion in the mix though.

I really missed the old Lantern from Haven City Market. Unfortunately, everything went wrong. We waited 45 minutes and the crab fried rice was very spicy, the egg was burned for the steak plate. The short rib pho was okay. Our server was nice as she tried to accomodate us through refund one of the dish and gave us a 20% off. However, I just really wish that the old Lantern from Haven City Market would come back.

Absolutely love this place. Service was fast, it was very clean inside and the staff were friendly. The food was amazing. My husband's step mom is Viet and the food had that authentic taste. Bun Bo hue was spicy but very good my daughter finished it all. I got the Bo Kho and loved it. Can't wait to bring the rest of the family back to try the Bánh xèo. The ube Vietnamese coffee was the best.

Great Vietnamese spot located in Rancho Cucamonga! We started with 2 Tofu Spring Rolls that were delicious. The tofu was lightly fried and still warm when the plate arrived, but did not cause any of the vegetables to be warm or soggy. The dipping sauce on the side was also very flavorful, but I would like to return and try their peanut sauce. I ordered the Pho-Rench Dip Sandwich, which it was a fun play on the classic french dip sandwich. The dish came with a brisket banh-mi, and a small bowl of beef broth with cilantro and green onions. This ended up being the perfect combination for me, as I was craving a banh-mi, but felt like I was missing out on not having pho. However, because my friend at the table ordered Pho, I was able to add some of the toppings into my broth, and it became the perfect side dish!

The line was really long but went by pretty fast! Inside, it's the same system. You build your salad and then pay, before a server seats your party. Everything tasted fresh, and my family and I piled up two plates each filled with fresh tasty food. The only downside was the long line to get in. We had to wait quite a while before being seated, and the buffet area was pretty busy during peak hours. Once we got our table, though, the service was friendly and the food was consistently replenished. If you don't mind a bit of a wait, this is a great spot for a satisfying and affordable meal. I'd recommend going during off-peak hours to avoid the crowds.

I was craving dumplings but did not want to make the drive all the way to the 626 area for dinner…read more Luckily i was able to find this little shop near to home. For starters the shop is a bit small with an ambiance of a mom and pop restaurant. Not much going on just as simple as it gets for these kind of shops. The service was a hit on the slower side. We sat for a bit before we got any attention from the servers, but as soon as you order the food comes out almost immediately so i would say they made up for it in that way. One of the things that was rare for a dumpling shop was the sauce bar. I have only seen these at hot pot restaurants, but it was pretty neat to be able to have everything available to make your own dumplings sauce. All it was missing was the chopped ginger and it would've been a 10/10 on the sauce bar alone! Idk if they make their own chili oil but i felt it may have needed to have a bit more heat. We ordered several dumpling dishes as well as the fried rice and the cucumber salad. The salad was on point! Ill take a smashed cucumber salad over a sliced one any day! I was a bit disappointed with the XLB because they were lacking the "soup" part of the soup dumpling.(completely dry) aside from that the rest of the dumplings were a generous 8.5/10. The fried rice was about the least of my favorite meals. It was lacking the WOK char on the day old rice necessary for egg fried rice. It felt more like it was an "all ingredients tossed into a rice cooker and mixed up with soy sauce" type of deal. Maybe im wrong but the rice was too fresh and mushy to be proper egg fried rice. All in all this place held up nicely. I personally give the experience a 7.5/10 altogether. Decent restaurant to consider if you are craving dumplings but not craving the traffic and long ride to the 626 area.

I had a very disappointing experience here today…read more I ordered a green pozole (chicken) and a taco plate from a waitress with a neck tattoo. When the food arrived, a different employee dropped it off, and the pozole was red pork pozole instead of the green chicken pozole we ordered. We immediately let that employee know the order was incorrect, and she took it back. A few moments later, our original waitress came to the table with an aggressive attitude and asked my wife, "So you want to switch your order from red to green?" This made it seem like we had changed our order rather than acknowledging that the wrong order had been taken in the first place. We explained that we had originally ordered the green pozole. She then told us that since we were "switching" it, it would take a while to make. When the green pozole finally arrived, she dropped the bowl on the table without making eye contact and walked away. The wait was so long that we had already finished the entire taco plate by the time the pozole arrived. We decided to just take the pozole to go. The waitress continued avoiding our table, so we eventually had to get up and walk to the counter to pay. When we asked for limes and onions to go with the green pozole, the owner informed us there would be an additional charge for each side. We paid, but the overall experience had already been soured. I told the owner about our experience, and while I was explaining what happened, the waitress with the neck tattoo walked by and laughed. I even pointed it out to the owner and said, "See, she's laughing about it right now." The owner said she would speak with the employee. After reading other reviews, it seems that poor customer service may be a recurring issue here. Mistakes happen, but the lack of accountability, poor attitude, and dismissive behavior turned a simple order mix-up into a very negative dining experience.
