They do have a number of sorbets, raspberry and dragonfruit among other flavors. The sorbets do seem to have more sugar than their regular ice cream. I ended up getting the macadamia nut scoop (gasp!not in a waffle cone) after trying coconut and Thai tea flavors as well. The more popular flavors have chocolate or caramel which I'm not a fan of. The ice cream is soft, melts in your mouth, and the toppings mixed into the ice cream flavors are also soft. Ordered the Mini Peanut Butter Cup 'N Fudge flavor and it was delicious, the flavors were blended perfectly. This is a MUST for any trip to the island, especially for my fellow ice cream aficionados. Anyone who knows me, knows that I have a verified ice cream addiction. So naturally going on vacation I always have to scope out any creameries to try. I was not expecting find a spot that could compare nevertheless compete with all the bomb places on the mainland, particularly in the SF bay area. However, Lappert's blew me away. This location is located in a pretty lively (read: touristy) shopping center. The benefits of that being - easy to find, plenty of parking, and open fairly late. There is often a line (at least in the evenings) and it can get pretty crowded inside. There are a few tables outside and otherwise it can be nice to window-shop around the shopping center or enjoy outdoor performances going on. We ended up coming to Lappert's several times during our week long stay to get my ice cream fix. Granted that I was not able to try all of their flavors on my few visits, I would fairly confidently say that all of the options are pretty high quality. I tried to focus on the more unique, local flavors (Kauai Pie, Mauna Kea's Secrets, Nene Tracks, Luau Delight, etc). When it comes to ice cream, for me there are two important factors texture/mouth feel and flavor. I have a very low tolerance for ice cream that is icy and lacks the silky, smooth creaminess . Lappert's ice creams not only have clear, distinct flavors as well as plentiful mixins but maintains that creamy mouthfeel. For those that are fans of Talenti's sorbettos, or fruit in general, hands down you HAVE to try Auntie Lilikoi's Passion Fruit. it is simply AMAZING. Intensely fruity, silky-melt in your mouth, tropical gloriousness. The other flavor I highly recommend for those into decadent, mix-ins-a-plenty flavors is Nene Tracks - so delicious, and perfect for satisfying that sweet tooth. Service was great every time. The line moves quickly. The only downside for me is that they are a little pricey, but it's high quality AND it's Hawaii, so to be expected. The flavors are smooth and dreamy. My husband and I both love coffee ice cream so we had the Kona Java Lava that has nuts and chocolate throughout. But for non coffee cravers, they have a great assortment of ice creams that include Hawaiian favorites like macadamia, coconut, banana and pineapple. They serve it in cups or waffle cones that can be dipped if you like. They also have floats, shakes and sundaes. Reminds me of Porto's Bakery in LA! This location was the first Lappert's I visited. The long line of tourists on a Saturday night didn't scare me away as I really wanted to taste their famed ice cream. I tried the signature Kaua'i Pie and Nene Tracks flavors. Both worked well together. I ended up reordering Kaua'i Pie the next day at the Hanapepe location!
