Weird service- one day, you can try a sample and the next day, you can't. But either way, mediocre ice cream. Why is the dark chocolate sorbet in place of what should be "fudge" per the name? Dark chocolate sorbet isn't fudge...and never will be. These flavors sound ok and then you eat them, and they kinda suck. Better to stick with the fruitier options. We came here after eating dinner at one of the nearby restaurants. There was a small line, but it moved fast. I ordered a scoop of "island inspiration" and another scoop of coconut macadamia nut. It was amazing. The ice cream was smooth and the vanilla was subtle. The amount of chunks of goodies was perfect. Very similar to the ratio in Ben and Jerry's. We visited this spot twice during our stay in Kauai, the first time it was a 5/5 star experience. Customer service was amazing and the person who helped us was helpful and patient. However the second time we went the worker, who said her name was Jenna, helping us packed the wrong bakery item and when we politely let her know of the error she made she immediately changed her tone and attitude towards us and threw the cookies she had packed and angrily packed the right cookies. By now we had already paid and gave her a tip for her services and it made the whole experience uncomfortable for our whole family. When we asked about management she said they are "overseas," not sure how accurate that information is but this alone made me not want to return to the shop ever again. read more

Convenient location in little outdoor mall close to the resort I was staying in. Recommend the pineapple sorbet, that was my favorite. Service was fine, not overly friendly but seemed mostly efficient. There was a line out the door but it moved reasonably quickly. There are a few tables inside but the fans and AC made it too cold so eating on a table outside was better. Wish they stayed open later, the hours posted on Yelp were incorrect as while they close at 9pm on Friday and Saturday night, they close at 8pm on weeknights, which is way too early and I saw them turn quite a few disappointed people away at 8:01pm on a Sunday. I ordered the "can't decide" which is 5 half scoops of ice cream in a waffle bowl for like $10. Honestly a pretty decent value, and it's a ton of ice cream. The half scoops are pretty decent sized and I was completely stuffed after finishing it all. Kind of embarrassing they gave me two spoons even though I ordered it for myself. A single can be two half scoops and is just under $6, a double can be up to four half scoops and just under $9. You seem to get more ice cream if you do half scoops than just do a full scoop of one flavor, but that might've just been our server or my opinion. Waffle cones and bowls smell better than they taste. I wouldn't pay extra to get it in a cone, but if you do order the "can't decide", then it comes with the waffle bowl. Here are the flavors I got: Pineapple sorbet - delicious and refreshing, you can tell it was made with real fruit with all the fibers of pineapple in there. By far my favorite flavor and I came back another day and only got this flavor. Passionfruit sorbet- very good and flavorful, very tart. Good if you like sour tart passionfruit but I would eat this flavor last because it's so flavorful that it could make anything you eat after taste bland. Strawberry guava ice cream - didn't impress me, kinda boring basically just plain unspectacular strawberry ice cream with a guava ribbon that you really couldn't taste in it. Tutus anniversary - looks like rainbow sherbet but the coconut ice cream kinda ruined it for me, would've preferred they used pineapple instead of coconut ice cream. Mango sorbet - very good. You can tell they use real mangos because it tastes just like a real mango, not the artificial mango taste. Green tea ice cream - fine but nothing special, I feel like Haagen dazs green tea tastes better and I've had better matcha flavored ice creams at places that specialize in it, it was good but not amazing. read more

There are three servers, and a fourth running the register, so the line it moves quickly. Note that they close and lock the doors at exactly 8 PM (9 PM on Fri-Sat) even if there are still people on line. On a recent visit to Poipu on Kauai I was thrilled to discover that Lappert's (which I had previously visited in Palm Springs) was also in Hawaii! My entire family loved this shop. So many tempting house made flavors featuring Hawaiian specific goods (lilkoi, haupia, Mac nut, ube, etc.). Not only is their ice cream delicious but they also carry delectable baked goods. My husband went back in after we finished our ice cream for cookies! That's a first in our 24 years of marriage! The hours were somewhat irregular due to staffing shortages but we did get in a visit on our second attempt. Very friendly service and some indoor/outdoor seating. Few problems here. Lack of staff. Irregular hours. Not super friendly. Out of ice creams. Signs don't match what the staff was doing. Came in on st Patrick's day during the evening. Line out the door but moved pretty fast. Their one scoop is tiny. You should probably order a double scoop which is something I never do. The ice cream I wanted was out. The second one I got was delicious. Definitely didn't feel like I could ask for a sample. The kids size is probably three bites haha. My kids were disappointed with their sizes. I should have ordered them the regular one scoop. They had signs if you were wearing green you would get an extra wee scoop. This was not happening at all. 2 kids scoops, two one scoop and one double scoop was $37. Yikes! Not worth it in my opinion. read more
