I went to this place last December to get my face waxed (review a bit overdue). I just remembered this not-so-great experience after I waxed my own face at home. I normally wax my own face, but I decided to give this place a try. I've also gone to other salons away from Grant Park that offer quality service at a lesser price but I thought I should try a salon that's nearby (Hair Images in Emory or Miracle Beauty Salon on Howell Mill). I think the person who did my face had no idea how to wax and I was actually coaching her throughout the process. It also took a lot longer than it should have taken and she didn't even get all the hair off my face! Not worth the price and the lack of expertise! It's probably a great nail salon, but I just will never come here again for the waxing. read more

I've been here four times, and it's only been decent once. The first time I saw one of the owners. I got a manicure, and she did a decent job. It was fine. I came back for a manicure, and she pushed the cuticles back and gave me an ok gel polish, one nail had issues, and that's it. I paid over 60 dollars, and she didn't clean up around the nail, and I left with hangnails. The owner told me that to get them to cut the hangnails, I needed to upgrade to the nurturing manicure that cost 71 DOLLARS. So I had all these issues with scheduling, trying to get a manicure and a pedicure on the same day. I came in for a pedicure, and it was bad. The young lady did not know what she was doing. It took forever cause she kept taking the gel off and putting it back on. Eventually, after messing up twice, she says it must be the polish. She suggested that I leave and see what happens. She told the owner it wasn't the best job, and they told me if it came off, I should call back. It was a mess of a job, and she charged me full price. I missed the next appointment cause I was running late, and they charged me for the full visit. Today I finally went back for this nurturing manicure. It's clear to me now they don't hire experienced nail technicians. She pushed the cuticles back (which is what they consider a manicure), and that was it. I asked her about cleaning up the hangnails, and she told me we don't do that. Nurturing means, she'll apply a hand scrub. Imagine my surprise. I told her I needed the hangnails cut. She leaves and comes back with the little clippers. She doesn't know how to use them. She's holding them like she's never seen them before and got dangerously close to cutting me. At that point, I told her to stop. I was done. I went upfront and told the manager that I didn't get the nurturing manicure. She asked what did she do. I told her she removed the polish and pushed my cuticles back. She says, oh, you got a manicure. No, I didn't, but it's clear to me now that a manicure is not an actual manicure here. She charged me 40 dollars for what was essentially a polish removal and pushing back my cuticles. Never again. So this place is fine if you want a cute place to get your cuticles pushed back by people who probably aren't professionally trained. It's a trendy little place in a cute neighborhood. But not worth anywhere near what they charge you. read more

I recently went into Lark & Sparrow for a Nurturing Pedicure by Skye. This place is the real deal -- not some sweat shoppy mani/pedi place where you're just a number. It is LUXURIOUS and super relaxing. They take great steps to make sure that you're pampered and taken care of. It was the best pedicure I've ever had. What I loved about them was that they make everything in-house that they can -- hand sanitizer, herbal soak, callous remover, scrub, etc. Truly a gem. I live in a building in Buckhead with a popular nail salon and I still make the short drive to Grant Park to get my nails done! They are just that good. Skye always does my nails and even came in on her day off to do my gel mani and pedicure for my wedding weekend! Amazing atmosphere, great natural products, lavender wraps and mimosas! Their customer service is top notch. They have a great selection of CND Shellac and CND Vinylux polishes and nail embellishments to choose from. Lark & Sparrow is such a classy nail salon. The salon is decorated with exquisite taste. The environment is relaxing and meticulously clean. I loved that they use natural products e.g. aloe gel as cuticle softener. Jody did a lovely manicure and suggested a rad pattern for a nail art detail. She really takes her time to make sure everything is perfect. Stephanie gave me an incredible pedicure/foot massage. Very chic place. They do a great job but it's overpriced. They lost me when I found out they charge an additional $10 to remove your old gel polish for them to give you a new set. Great overall experience! Nails - I got a Nurturing Manicure and a Basic Pedicure and it was very relaxing. It was honestly the best mani/pedi I have received as it was gentle on my sensitive skin and still got the job done on my rough and neglected cuticles. I also got my eyebrows waxed and they use a special wax for sensitive skin and my brows were perfectly shaped, no pain and no redness after. Lark & Sparrow is also affordable, convenient, has a great atmosphere and no toxic smells. Everyone was exceptionally pleasant and accommodating as well, but I would make a reservation. read more

Absolutely wonderful experience. I set up an appointment Saturday morning on their site for 10:45. I had an upset tummy and was forced to decline their mango mojito (bummer!). I thought the strong smells of a nail salon would make me feel even queasier, but this place smells amazing! I don't know if it was the products they used for my Nurturing Pedicure or the aromatherapy oil diffuser on the top shelf, but it actually settled my bitter belly. Holy crow, I was visiting my sister in Atlanta and she made us appointments for manicure/pedicures here. This is the best nail salon I've ever been to. The bar is set WAY high. Aesthetically, it's so peaceful - tons of natural light, exposed brick, light colors, it smells nice. We had 10am appointments and were met by friendly faces who knew my sister by name and were very kind to me. They made us mimosas and got us started right away. Skye and Stef did wonderful work on our nails and took extra time to show us different stamp, foil and color options to make sure we had the looks we wanted. I've never been more excited for a manicure in my life and probably half-shouted that like three times. I briefly looked at all the lovely jewelry that was also for sale but tried to execute some self control and didn't pick anything up this go round. However, you can be sure that I'll be booking more trips to Atlanta, and when I do, we'll be going back to lark & sparrow. read more

Lark & Sparrow recently hosted my sister the day before her wedding, along with the ladies from both sides. What a wonderful experience! The manicures and pedicures were amazing, the products were gentle and homemade, the staff was wonderful, the ambiance was relaxing....and they even let us bring in our own snacks, so that we could really make it a pampering morning! Everyone's nails came out beautiful and the staff worked with each of us to really match our style. My sister's wedding was botanical themed and her nails had an amazingly detailed floral design. Ruined wedding nail experience. I researched and booked this salon several months prior to my wedding hoping to have a relaxing and fun experience with my mom, future mother in law and sister in law. When I arrived, they said I had only booked 2 manicures and 2 pedicures instead of 3 manicures and 2 pedicures.They said they would not be able to accommodate the extra service initially so my mom and I were discussing going to another salon and the owner overheard us and immediately said "if you leave there will be cancellation fees." We ended is staying and she made it clear she was put out by accommodating us and this could only be my fault. Two technicians did our services but I was not allowed to get gel bc it would take too much time (and one of my nails chipped later that night). Meanwhile, one of the techs, Sunshine, was painting her own nails for approx 45 minutes. I understand the difficulty in fitting an extra service (albeit a standard manicure) on a busy day but since this was a special occasion I should at least not have been made to feel bad about the situation like the owner did. I am giving it two stars bc it is a cute shop and the two techs we ended up working with were trying to help, but the owner was very unpleasant. You only get one bridal nail visit, and she ruined it for me by making it a stressful and disappointing experience. read more
