Went here for the half off pizza on Tuesday. It was my first time and probably the last. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. It was pretty average. Nothing stood out about the pizza, from the dough to the sauce to the toppings. Like I said, not a horrible experience but nothing to bring me back. read more

Here for Market Days. I understand that it's busy and things change for Market Days but we had two really shady experiences. The first was out at their tent. We ordered two Lark "Margaritas" (which was basically white wine and sour mix...no tequila) and the worker said "$20" We looked at the price on board and it said $7 per drink. We mentioned this and the worker said "Oh, did you want small or large?" Again we looked at the board and there was no size choices. We said this and he looked at us and just shrugged his shoulders and took the $14. Then inside later we had a few cocktails and an appetizer (4 small meatballs for $11) and when the check came for the two of us it had gratuity added. When we questioned the server he said it was because of the Market Days weekend. When we asked at the host stand on the way out they said they didn't know that was the policy. Looks to me like the staff is taking advantage of the guests and I would never be back! read more

I love this place! Such a nice patio and has great brunch specials! Get the tots - you won't regret it. Kelly was the best server! He made our experience so enjoyable (we literally stayed for three hours because we were having such a great time)! They have board games that will bring you back to your childhood (mystery date anyone?). I had the Cuban sandwich with tots and I'll definitely be back. I live a block from here and I've been wanting to try it out for the past few months. We came in around 2 PM on a Saturday and there was plenty of seating. We got a nice table in the back. Really cool atmosphere. I ordered a Bloody Mary that was the sorriest excuse for a Bloody Mary -- not trying to be dramatic but it was simply bad. It was watered down from the second I got it and I was really disappointed. My friend got a cobb salad and it looked like it was only romaine lettuce -- they even forgot the tomatoes and had to ask for them (after re-reading the menu and seeing they were supposed to come on the salad). We had to ask another staff member for ketchup after we asked our server and he didn't bring it (he came back to our table way later and still didn't have it). A little expensive for what you're getting, but I figure you're paying for the atmosphere. My friend got a pizza though and it was really good. If I came back I'd stick with the pizza and appetizers and a simple cocktail. read more

Tried Lark for the first time since opening. I asked if the Bloody Mary mix had chanced, I was offered a "taste". The waitress brought a fully made bloody. I "tasted" the bloody and did not like it. The Bloody Mary was sent back and a request for a screwdriver was asked for. The screwdriver has little to zero vodka mix and the service, not only, from waitress, the bar attendants and staff around. Much better money and quality to choose from on Halsted than a restaurant that doesn't retaliate against there customers. read more

I had a great Salmon dinner. The Salmon was melt in your mouth good. I'm from San Francisco and this was really good.

Had brunch at @LarkChicago today. Been here many times but the last few have been rough. Service is good, but the kitchen takes forever. A full 50 minutes from ordering our food. Also, times horribly for our large party-2 dishes at a time with 5 minute breaks between. Tater tots were undercooked in an obvious attempt to rush them. As food was delivered, one our group was told they didn't have the item they ordered!!! The manager/owner brought over shots as a consolation, no one wanted them. Read the room. Shots weren't going to make anyone happy. Every restaurant that sends shots to "fix" an issue needs to realize that most people don't want your random, unwanted shot. I want this place to be better than it is. It seems like it is suffering from the fact that it is one of the few places in Boystown that serves brunch. Glad they are getting more business, just wish they knew how to handle it. Seating is always a mess and clearly the kitchen cannot handle any type of crowd. Come on guys, do better. There are so many things I want to like about this place - I just wish they could get it right. read more

Meh. Edible but flavorless meatballs, pork tenderloin probably undercooked but also without any sort of flavor and really unimpressive wine. Barely attentive staff who seemed resolved to having unhappy patrons. Give it a miss. read more

So disappointing. I went for brunch, probably my third time in the last 6 months and I brought friends from out of town to this place with glowing recommendations. Something was terribly wrong with their mimosas and bloody Mary's. I had the worst bloody Mary I've ever tasted in my life, and although I hate asking for another, it was undrinkable. I figured it was just a one time thing, and the bloody Mary that came back was the most disgusting bloody Mary I've ever tasted. The attitude that I received from the server was so negative that even though the mimosas that my friends ordered tasted like they had dirty dishwater in them, they felt bad asking to send them back but they were so disgusting that they didn't even have more than two sips. I really cannot believe how bad these drinks tasted. read more

Visited with my daughter.. it was always one of my favorite places to visit .. now a new brunch menu, no huevos rancheros, not sure there was any vodka in my bloody mary, over done omlette & potatoes. Great service. Wonderful staff. They over cooked my steak and completely comped it and a round of drinks off of my bill. Other than that the food was amazing. And the atmosphere was great. I was itching for some pizza last night and my best friend suggested we go here for a quick bite. Arrived at around 8:00 pm, it was very crowded inside we were practically invisible to the waiters. Took them a good 10 minutes to serve us, any longer and we would've walked out. We decided to be quirky and get two breakfast burritos and a large four cheese pizza. Food was excellent, really hit the spot. This is a great place and I'll definitely come back for the food but I hope the waiters are faster next time. read more

First time to Chicago and picked a street to walk down and found Lark. Right when we walked in the door you felt very welcomed. All service staff was attentive including our server, Pedro ( I believe)...started with the nachos & loved that they put little sweet peppers in there; being nachos it was the best I've had out to eat. I had the beet salad which was huge and tasty maybe could have used a little more toppings for all the greens but not the end of the world. Boyfriend had the smoked salmon pizza and that was delish! LOVE Lark! Live in the neighborhood and it is a go-to staple. The pizzas are delicious, but the Cuban sandwich is next level delicious.

I have had neopolitan pizza before but nothing compared to there pizza. I had the salmon pizza and it was amazing. Looked beautiful too. And I didn't have to worry about my baby girl complaining because her attention was on the pizza guy twirling the dough in the air. Great experience read more
