Would use them again. What a relief to have a plumber I can depend on! Dan was here yesterday, and had to deal with an issue he had fixed in the past. Although the problem was out of warranty, he did not charge for his work in spite of the fact that he was here for more than an hour on a Sunday. Admittedly, I am a long-time customer, but he has never charged for a "diagnosis" visit and is very responsive when called. In addition he is totally familiar with older homes - mine was built in 1927. Also, I very much appreciate that he has always been respectful when asked questions about the problem and why he is doing what he does. This is important to me since I have been talked down to and belittled in the past by male service persons. If you're looking for a plumber and give Dan a try, you won't be sorry. read more

Saw the van in the neighborhood yesterday and decided to give him a call. He called back within 15 minutes, or so, and was able to come over after completing his current job. Once he arrived he got to work promptly and cleared the clog in about 30 minutes. We've had the issue for a couple of weeks and have called others that either haven't been able to clear it (and still charge us, of course) or don't even call us back. Apparently Larry A Hudson passed away in 2015 and Dan Biggs,his #1 employee for 10 years is now the owner of the business. When a leak developed somewhere in my tenant's hot water line between the heater and the crawl space pipe to the kitchen, Dan came right away when I called to survey the problem. He gave me an estimate which I accepted and he arrived promptly the next day at 8:30AM (a Saturday with no overtime charge.) He designed a solution which didn't require breaking up the concrete, thus saving me money. The job finished slightly over budget, but Dan only charged me the amount he estimated. I had been a Larry Hudson customer before, and was therefore familiar with Dan's competence and work ethic - involving much crawling under my house to deal with a gas leak - and recommend him VERY highly. read more

Wish I could give them ZERO stars. My mother (87) used Larry Hudson Plumbing several times this year. I don't normally write bad reviews on anyone or anything, but this company really blew it! In fact, the last "repair" trip they made to my Mom's resulted in a flood. A little background is worth mentioning: Every time she used her washing machine, the nearby bathtub would back-up with water. Rep from Larry Hudson plumbing came out and seemed to poke around and did some sort of repair. When he tested the machine, nothing backed up. The next time my Mom did laundry, the problem occurred again. She called for plumber to come back again. Same drill...poking around, testing, and seemed to be fixed. Third time she does laundry, it backs up into the tub yet again! She calls them and the owner said he cannot understand what is going on and he'll personally come out to inspect, with the original rep. They booked a period of time to come over on Valentine's Day. My Mom cancelled her plans and waited ALL DAY into the evening. She called early that evening to check status and someone (she thinks may have been the owner) acted shocked that no one was there yet. So, no one showed up that night and she wasted the whole day waiting for nothing. When they finally came in the subsequent days, the problem was checked once again and they seemed to fix it. The next time my Mom does laundry, she rushes to the bathroom to check to see if the tub is backing up and viola! it's fixed! Little did she know, that the entire kitchen was flooding at this very moment. When she walked back into the kitchen, all the tile, under the fridge, and under the stove were flooded. She found a hose was not reconnected at the back of the washing machine was not reconnected by the plumber! Mind you, my mother is 87 and has NO BUSINESS sopping up a flooded kitchen. After she cleaned it up and called Larry Hudson Plumbing to report the incident, they were very dismissive and said something to the effect of "accidents happen". One of my sisters called and voiced her disgust at this service and attitude and received the same response. This company will no longer receive my mother's business and I am very shocked at their complete lack of customer service for problems THEY caused. read more

I am totally impressed with this plumbing company. I am Program Manager at an Alcohol and Drug Residential in Spring Valley and I called Larry Hudson plumbing at 5:30pm and within the hour he arrived to find a major main line blockage. Dan the plumber never wavered and went right to work. It was a grueling 5 hour job which should have displaced and interrupted the client base here at the residential but showing his expertise,Dan was able to keep us up and running and with minimal interference to normal routine. I highly recommend this company that attends to their customers needs and comforts while on the site and the professional manor they employ while diagnosing and repairing the problems. So unprofessional. I made an appointment with this company at 2pm. By 330pm, no one had show up so i called back the company. The person on the phone told me I don't know where plumber is ...let me call you back. Ten minutes later i get a call and the person told me, i couldn't find your house. I asked why you didn't cal.... answer i didn't have your number...number that i provided during appointment. The person adding, i can't come now because it will be too much traffic with the game at the stadium. It was dec 20th with NO game at the stadium!!! We've had Mr Hudson out to our house twice to snake our bathtub drain and then deal with the drainage attached to our clothes washer. Mr Hudson (who is an older, very nice gentleman!) arrives on time to appointments, brings his coworker and gets your drain clean quickly. He's also very understanding of families who have large, hairy dogs and makes friends with your pets so they don't bark during the appointment! read more

Kitchen sink and garbage disposal both backed up; not a good situation. I called Larry Hudson plumbing and was fortunate to have Dan come out the same day. He was professional (and funny), quickly diagnosed the problem, and fixed it. He gave me helpful tips on what not to put in a garbage disposal and what is good for the garbage disposal. We have had other companies snake our drains but they didn't go as far as Dan did. We're hoping this solves the problem for at least a few more years. They weren't cheap but the service was great, and I would definitely recommend them. read more

I have used Larry Hudson plumbing for years at our townhouse. Some of the reviews here are old and don't reflect the current Larry Hudson service. It's currently owned and operated by new folks. Dan is the new owner and provides stand-up service. The company had a bad batch when Larry got ill and some lesser employees ran the show. I had Dan replumb my kitchen sink more than a year ago. He installed contractor-grade angle stops (not the cheap "consumer-grade" plastic crap sold by Home Depot.) Dan replumbed the two sink drains as well as the disposal plumbing and dishwasher waste line. Well, last week, the P-trap recently became dislodged due to the bulk storage under our sink...I called Dan at 10pm. We didn't require immediate emergency service so Dan agreed to come by first stop in the AM. He came on time, assessed the problem and reinstalled the waste and P-trap, adding a wood block to stabilize the rather long waste line. NO CHARGE for his travel time or his labor because he stands by the work he did earlier. Quick. Clean, Efficient. He won't use cheap plastic sub-par parts. Don't rely on Yelp reviews more than a year old. They're not accurate. read more
