Santorini Island Grills generally have very good Greek food. We used to frequent the one in Scripps Ranch before I moved (years ago now) and now this is the one we go to. It's an insult to compare this place to Daphne's. This Santorini's is much smaller with a more limited menu than the other location. So I had to take a star off. Otherwise, very friendly service, great food, cheap prices and large portions. The half Greek chicken was a ton of meat and very flavorful. If you are craving Greek food, I highly recommend this place. read more

Larry is one of the friendliest funniest guys I've met. when you eat here you really feel like you're being welcomed into someone's home. The Greek chicken salad is my personal favorite but my boyfriend loves the gyros or the gyro salad. This is one of mine and my boyfriend's favorite spots in poway. Forget the corporate schill up the street (Daphne's). Here you get fresh food and great hospitality. read more

Fresh, delicious, and fun! We were delighted with the food and the dining experience with friendly and welcoming staff. The kebab was tender, moist, and flavorful. The Greek salad had crispy lettuce, with cucumbers, tomatoes, and melt in your mouth feta cheese. The Greek red wine was a very good accompaniment to the meal. The humus was creamy and smooth with piping hot pita bread, which was a tasty appetizer! We enjoyed this restaurant and look forward to returning. read more

This was by far the best grilled chicken pita sandwich ever! Twice this week I have gone to get the pita sandwich. Very friendly as well.

One of those hidden gems! Cruised over from San Diego to see Los Lobos at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts and didn't want to go to far from the venue to eat. Looked on my phone and up popped Santorini's, which was about a mile away. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but once inside, it was a very comfortable. Not too fancy, but very clean and welcoming. The girl behind the counter was really nice and very attentive. I ordered the shrimp plate and was very pleased to see that they grill their shrimp and not fry it. They were cooked perfectly. The pita bread and rice were great as well. Salad was also very fresh. This place was fantastic! A cute restaurant tucked away in a little plaza. I was greeted right as I walked in and a friendly guy (Larry?) took us through the menu. My husband had the chicken pita which was fresh, delicious, and adequately proportioned. The chicken was tender and well marinated. I had the chicken kabob combo and again great marinated tender chicken. There were 2 kabobs and about 12 pieces of chicken. A nice fresh salad, soft pita bread, and fluffy rice accompanied the combo. We also got a side of the volcano feta dip which came with pita bread and cucumbers. It was phenomenal. A must try if you love kalamata olives and feta. Our food was done quickly with excellent service. We can't wait to go back. A note that they charge an extra .50 cents for credit cards and no public restroom. read more

Solid food and really good service - came here early on a Saturday afternoon after hiking nearby and having a Greek craving. Got the shrimp and gyro combo platter, excellent quality gyro meat and marinated shrimp. The owner Larry was great and pointed out several items on the menu. Got lost today and randomly found this place. Best wrong turn EVER! Ordered the Gyro and chicken skewer plate with salad, rice and pita bread for lunch and a Greek burrito for watch later tonight... The chicken was tender and the flavor was delicious, just a smidgen lemony. The Gyro meat was perfectly flavored and tender. No hard spots in the rice like it had been made a week ago and the salad dressing was awesome! The owner was super nice and the price was great too. Definitely going to be back. read more

We were feeling like some Greek food and coming in from Ramona. How many times have we passed by this place hidden next to the liquor store!? The owner was friendly and took our orders promptly. We say down and got our food in about 8 minutes. I had the quarter chicken and gyros. Amazing chicken, the gyro was thin and just the right amount of crispy. The side salad was good but turned epic with the dressing. The humus was wonderful and the whole meal just what we wanted. My plate was $11 I think and worth every penny. I walk into the restaurant and order the veggie plate. I see a walnut cookie by the counter so I order that too. He gives me a free drink for waiting. The powdered cookie tastes like nail polish remover for some reason. However, I am not at all alarmed as this a petty qualm. The food here is always exceptional time after time. There is some Spanish programming playing while I wait for the food, and the manager changes the channel for me. I didn't have the heart to tell him that I enjoy improving my Spanish. The plate arrives and is exceptionally diverse! There are pita slices (Around 10 triangles worth), hummus, a greek salad, Spanish rice, 2 spanish pies, 2 dhoulmas, and a large egg sized fallafel. This variety is not at the compromise of price or quality.The fallafel is hot and well seasoned. The dhoulmas are hearty and filling, and taste fresh and tangy. The Spanish pies are fluffy puff pastries with a spinach interior. Great texture and a flavor to match (a few fried items never hurt anyone). The pita bread is hot an delicious and tastes like it's fresh off the press. As far as vegetarian food goes, it doesn't get any better than Santorini's. I'm going off quality, quantity, diversity, and price, and they just can't be beat. As I leave, I ask the manager if everything is made fresh. He replies "Yes." "Even the pita bread?" I have been going to Santorini's since my high school years and let me tell you, this place is this best! It is a little shop nestled at the corner of twin peaks and espola road. The food is great if you're a fan of Greek food. They have burgers, chicken/gyro salads, gyro salads for cheap, sweet desserts, and even meals for vegetarians! The tzatziki sauce is better than the commercialized version of Daphne's and is homemade. I highly recommend getting a gyros plate, gyros salad, or a gyros/chicken kabob plate which all hit the taste buds right on. We had the family gyros special for 4 people that includes a platter of each: gyros, salad, rice and pita bread. The salad was very good and crisp. I like the dressing, not oily. The meat was juicy and tender without being greasy. However, the slicing could have been thinner and more consistent. Some pieces were thin and some were really thick. The rice was good but on the salty side. The ambiance is very casual. The servers were really nice and friendly, a little on the slow side. Really great value. My coworker and I stepped into this place on a whim. It doesn't look like much from outside, but once you step in, you feel welcomed. The menu is easy to read, with photos of most of the items posted for hassle-free ordering. The food here is fresh, tasty, and very reasonably priced. In addition, the owner (Larry) provides exceptional customer service, and is charismatic and interesting. Even the cook is quite friendly and engaging. (When even the back-of-the-house staff is happy, that tells you something...). We had one each of their daily specials, and also tried the spicy feta and hummus combo. Every item is made to order, and comes out fairly quickly. We asked about large orders and catering - and, yep, they do those too. Sweet. To be fair, after having eaten Greek food in Athens, it's hard to enjoy it in the states. This just tastes a little bland, but it's still a decent meal! I was trying to find a good one of these after my disappointing experience at luna grill and was happy after this. The gyro pita had lots of meat and the fries were good. I've eaten at Larry's Santorini many times, as I work up the road, but... it's been awhile because of the pandemic. I ordered the salmon special and to be honest I wasn't really expecting much, I just wanted healthy food. I'm also a fish snob and I want it cooked perfectly. It WAS PERFECT, absolutely a perfectly cooked piece of salmon. Not dry, not overdone, just perfect. I was kind of embarrassed to be eating such good fish out of a Styrofoam container once I sat back down at my desk. I didn't use the sauce that came with it, good fish needs nothing. I've eaten here once and had the kabob plate while my boyfriend had the Greek burger. My plate was "A-OK" but what I really enjoyed was that big fatty burger sitting across from me. The meat was juicy and complemented the feta and greek-like ingredients. I was instantly a fan. Even though I wasn't very pleased with my plate, I still enjoyed myself. You must try the burger. I was married in Santorini so I was so excited to find Greek food in poway. I asked for the dolmades. I was given cold small ones with only rice in watery lemon water (no lamb or creamy sauce). Like ones from a can. I also asked for the spanakopia quick was cold, barely any feta and flat. I asked if I could have fries for my son as a pose to salad as we had salad. The girl stated" we made a mistake, we put rice and salad"and proceeded to try and scoop it off my plate. I asked her to leave it and cancel the fries. She then told me they made the fries so you owe us $2.00 more. What? And then the fries are not fresh cut, they were frozen store bought string fries that a lady put in a microwave. Super Cheap... I had the Spicy Chicken Greek Salad where the feta was supposed to be the spicy part...not spicy at all. My mom had a Greek Salad with gyro meat. Our dinner was only $12 together! The chicken on top was good, the bread was awesome, the dressing was o.k., but the tsatski didn't really taste like anything. I'm a sauce girl...
