The Larson's team provided a full inspection with a detailed report and photos, which gave me a clear picture of what was going on. They even called me to explain everything and make sure they understood exactly what I wanted. I ended up having my brakes replaced along with a few other things repaired and serviced. I continue to bring my vehicles to Larson's because they give me something that's incredibly important to me as a single mom: peace of mind. What started as a decent experience quickly turned into a joke. Two pairs of sunglasses were stolen from my car here. When I confronted them, they brushed it off and even had the technician lie, claiming he saw a pair in the car and told me to "check under the seats." This place is dishonest and untrustworthy. I drive my vehicles until the wheels fall off. I can't even help it. The thought of letting a vehicle go, just because it may have a little trouble getting around from time to time, does not typically move me to sell. Fun times and good memories always complicate the decision making process! The issue is that I'm also slightly neurotic about safety. As my vehicles age and start to make the sounds that only a well loved car can, a soundtrack creeps into my mind that sings "one of these days you're going to be stuck out in the middle of nowhere--betrayed. You should really get that rattle checked out." Enter, Peter Larson. For as many times as he's fixed a problem, there have been just as many times that he's patiently called me and said, "Jenn, there's nothing wrong with your car. Come pick it up. No charge." He's also down to do this dance with my children's cars- and I so value his integrity! At this point in my relationship with Larson's Automotive, I never worry about being taken advantage of. In fact, I put full trust into his level of care and concern for my safety (and that of my family!) I happened to luck out when I found Larson's. My car needed a few things done, and I was aware of some existing problems that it had. My car was leaking and over heating. I was able to manage the problem temporarily by continuing to fill the radiator with coolant. I knew i also had a slow oil leak... I just didn't know where it was coming from, but it wasn't causing problems so it wasn't high on my list of things to get fixed. One day it got to the point where I just couldn't wait anymore, so I googled places and landed on Larson's. Miss Nikki at the front was the sweetest! I explained my car was leaking oil and coolant, and she informed Mr. Pete and he took a look. They couldn't get my car fixed that day due to me coming later in the afternoon, which was fine, so i had to leave my car over night. I had my toddler with me and planned to take an Uber home, and Miss Nikki was so kind and drove us home herself. I didn't live very far. The gesture made me so incredibly grateful to her Mr. Pete called me a few hours later and told me where the oil leak was coming and the coolant leak and quoted me a price. My husband and I do basic maintenance on our cars that's how I knew I had an oil leak. I just couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Mr. Pete is honest and fair in pricing. I looked up the things he said was wrong, and based on the parts that needed to be replaced, it aligned with what I already knew was wrong with my car. They don't sell you extra stuff, they're not pushy. I even asked Mr. Pete if the oil leak repair could wait. He told me it's not severe right this moment, but it would need to be taken care of in the very near future. He wasn't trying to sell me on the gloom and doom to get my business. I also requested quotes from other places and his pricing was also the best. They are military friendly, which was also nice. The best thing was the follow up call from Miss Nikki a week later, and a handwritten Thank You not from Mr. Pete. My experience with Larson's was so personal, and I really appreciate the details and steps they take to make their customers feel valued, and happy with the work they received. Very saddened that I was told to replace my engine for $7k and I opened my hood and parts were just laid on top without being secured or bolted down. Either you didn't bother to check anything and wanted me to purchase an engine from your sponsor OR you didn't care enough secure the parts back. Either way, thanks for your professionalism to a Vet that was incredibly polite and put my trust you all ! We are all going through a rough time but that doesn't mean we should omit common decency and professionalism. You all could've kept the military discount if you knew you were going to half check/diagnose my vehicle. Hope that $100 helps out some. My car is back on the road, thanks to honest mechanics. Let me preface this with the fact I know very little about cars. I have a 2002 Ford Taurus that I purchased about a year ago. I've replaced a good majority of the parts already due to failures here and there. Recently, it's been turning off while idling too long (although the AC and radio stay on), and if I apply the brakes too long it'll jerk back and forth. I used to get all my repairs done at a place called USA Motors. The last major repair I got done was my starter, which came out to just over $700. After looking around online and talking to friends, I was told that was fairly expensive. So I did a little googling to find a different repair shop, hopefully one a bit closer to my house. I came upon Larson's Automotive and they had really good reviews as well as being located less than a mile away from my house. I went in without an appointment and was told due to high volume they wouldn't be able to take a look at it for two days. Totally understandable. I dropped it off and later that same day got a call informing me they were delving a bit deeper into it as there was multiple problems and giving me a potential ballpark range. Later I get another call (and e-mail) with a detailed list of what's going on. What I really like was in the e-mail there's videos included of the things that are going on, so you can see what they're talking about. As someone who knows very little about cars, this was hugely helpful and appreciated. So they gave me a few options. The first option was to replace the broken PCV valve and oxygen sensor for about $215. Per Google, the average cost of the starter replacement I paid $700 for is $378-$481. Now, adding the PCV valve and O2 sensor replacement cost from google is anywhere from $230-$329. The price I paid for both repairs together came out to less than the lowest end of what google said average repair cost was, whereas I went way over the "max" amount on the starter. What was awesome is that I didn't feel "sold". I work Retail myself and can usually tell when people are being genuine. They said that with just that repair, the car would be (and was after they tested it a bit) drivable again. I asked about the other things notated (loose front lower ball joints, leaking/damage exhaust manifold, cracked/worn accessory drive belts) and was given a very honest answer on whether or not I had to get them done immediately. Essentially, they said that although it wasn't necessary to do it right this second, they recommended doing it as soon as possible to prevent future problems. I opted to just get everything done right now through them as I loved how honest they were and how they handled everything. I've been kept up to date on the whole process of the repair and time estimates. I've talked to Wayne a few times already and he's always been super professional and courteous even though I'm sure I've asked a bunch of dumb questions. As another bonus, the timeframe has been much better than I initially expected. When my car wouldn't start and I had it towed to the previous repair shop for the starter issue, they were unable to even look at it for a few days, with it sitting in their lot. I understand it's busy, but I waited 2-3 days just for them to glance at it and figure out what was wrong and ask if I wanted to start the repair. Then, it took another 4-5 days to get it done, with the whole process taking a little over a week. Coming from that to this, where I was called the same day I dropped it off with a thorough inspection having already been done is such a refreshing difference. Everything about this place, from the friendly staff I interacted with (Pete and Wayne), to price points, to turn around time, and more, has been excellent. When I explained my previous issue to the other repair shop, I was kind of blown off and they didn't really care what I had to say. At Larson's though, even though I had no idea what could be going wrong with the car, they let me explain in detail and didn't make me feel dumb. I can't recommend this place enough. read more

So I took my car there, had my tranny fluid changed and of course walked out with a list of things that need attention. He walked me out to the garage and showed me the things he was concerned about and helped me prioritize what to get fixed. My car is 10 years old so you expect that. My car was overheating and coolant was getting into the engine. I looked up shops on Yelp closest to me and Larsons came up. I read all the reviews and decided to give them a try. I spoke to Wayne who was very friendly and helpful. We arranged for them to look over my car (free of charge I might add). What came back was not good news. The water pump was bad and needed to be replaced. It was a very costly job because of the work required to fix. They were very honest and fair upfront with me. I agreed to the repairs. They also gave me a Veterans discount which I was super appreciative of. The next week my vehicle was done. I haven't had any issues with the repairs and was very happy with Larson's service. They also gave me a 3 year/30k mile warranty on the part and repairs. How awesome is that!? A few weeks after my car was done, I recorded this wonderful Thank You Card in the mail that was personally hand written by Pete Larson (the owner). It was a wonderful touch to an already amazing experience with this shop. I will only trust Larson's to work on my car for now on. read more

Previous shop mangled the AC on my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Read the reviews for Larson's and took it to them. Told them the history of the AC for the vehicle which was a mess, and told them I wanted it restored to manufacturer specs if possible. Also, told them I needed them to be honest and had experience with detecting dishonesty. They returned two estimates for getting it working, a lower estimate, and another higher estimate for getting it back to manufacturer specs with 3 year, 36,000 mile warranty on parts and labor. I went with the higher estimate. They returned the car to me with all the replaced parts as I asked, and everything worked as I'd hoped. They were honest, efficient, and got a major job done in just a couple days, once they began work. I was very pleased. read more

I have been to Larson's twice. I went in April for brakes and rotors. I was very pleased with the service and work in April so I returned in May. Of course as a woman, it is intimidating walking into a garage but Pete the owner is extremely personable and both times took the time to explain things so I could understand. My visit in May totally locked in Larson's as my permanent garage of choice. On a Saturday, even though their short day is filled with set appointments only, Pete squeezed in time for my car. In no way am I encouraging people to show up on a Saturday and bust up their set noon closing time like I did. I think Pete sensed my desperation so he willingly said he would try to diagnose the problem. He ended up staying until 3:30 to finish my car. I felt so bad but he assured me he had plenty of things to do while my car idled to get used to the sensor he quickly popped in. It is the idling part that takes the longest. He said he wanted to make sure the sensor adjusted so it took a little longer - almost apologizing to me when I felt guilty. Bottom line is Pete went above and beyond. Let me start by saying that I used them for a couple of times before and they were really good. But the last couple times made me change my mind. I really believe that the problem is that they grew their business but the customer and quality has been dropping since the owner is no longer doing the work himself. A year and a half ago they replaced some gaskets on my engine but later I found a scratch on the front bumper and they denied that it happened there. Just a couple of weeks ago I took it for an engine light and they replaced a sensor. They recommended several other services or problems areas that I needed to address. The problem is that they were recommending some that they did before. I asked why and they just said that it wasn't on the carfax report so they were recommending them. They had changed their computer system so they didn't have any of my previous history. I also felt that they didn't even bother to check the car and just based everything on this report . I picked up the car close to five on a Friday so they were about to leave for the weekend so I paid and left. Not even half a block from there two new lights came up. I turned around and told the guy in the front but he didn't seem to care. He just googled and gave me an idea of what the problem could be but no real answer, help or guidance on what to do. He just said that this things happen. I had to take the car to the dealership and they reset the computer. Something that I really liked about this place was the personal service from the owner. You could tell that he likes to work on the cars and paid attention to the little things. Now it just seems like they are just for the money. read more

I took my SUV in here after a light came on indicating I needed a new fuel pump. They were sure to check it out and I was pleased to hear that wasn't the issue at all. In fact when I had had my oil changed at a quick stop place a couple of weeks prior they put a cover back on wrong. So, they were able to fix the problem and replace my front brakes (and told me I had more time on my back ones still) for a good price.
