The TL;DR: good food, too expensive, not the best server We were recommended to go here by a bougie friend, and we thought it would be fun. We were frist impressed by the decor, but then came the menu which totally threw me for a loop. The food was WAY more expensive than we thought it was going to be. Ok, i guess we should have known how expensive it was going to be, but it was still kind of shocking. We end up ordering a $17 side of guacamole because we were pressured by the waitress, who also was super pushy about us getting a second appetizer. it was literally the most mid guacamole of my life. We ordered the "divorced enchiladas" (because I thought it would be funny because it was our anniversary) and my wife got the fried crispy burrito. The enchiladas were so small, super tasty, but way too small for their price of $32, the burrito was pretty good. When we wanted to be done, our waitress was no where to be found and when she finally showed up she was supper pushy about what are we going to have for dessert, and we were like "we don't want dessert" and she was pretty short with us after that. When we paid the tablet suggested a 30% tip and i was like nope, so i customed tipped and the lady was watching me over my shoulder, like bro! As of now, personally would not recommend. Let's start with positives! The restaurant is beautiful. Amazing decor and seating, we were so impressed when we arrived. They had entertainment for brunch, including a guitarist and a dancer, and we loved both. But the cons outweigh the pros. The time between each interaction with our waitress was LENGTHY. By the time the waitress took our order, we all already wanted to leave. I ordered a mimosa and the breakfast tacos. You can't really mess up a mimosa, so that was great. The tacos were very very cold and didn't have any eggs on them, so it was just chorizo, potato, and cheese... they comped the tacos - which I really appreciated. Overall, I'd love to try again because I want the drinks/food to align with the ambiance. I'm hoping they were just understaffed for Mothers Day! read more

Honestly Las Botellas has some of the coolest drinks I've ever seen in Utah the espresso martini was yummy! Then we saw the rest of the fun drinks getting ordered around the restaurant and we almost tired them all!! We sat at the bar and I didn't realize until we had left but maybe it's because we were by the bar dishwasher but it was so hot we literally almost started sweating which kinda killed the vibe so if ur sitting at the bar make sure ur not by the dishwasher or you'll have a heat stroke. read more

Me and my family ate there with 6 adults and a child. Our waitress didn't make us aware that gratuity would be added to the bill, we essentially ended up double tipping on a $300 bill. It is our fault to not check, but I think they should make you aware. And the service wasn't even good, you could barely hear what the waitress was saying. read more

I took my parents from out of town here thinking it would be a great experience and a level above the rest. I had heard some interesting feedback from others and wanted to give it a shot. I was very dissatisfied and disappointed. The food took foooorrrevvvver... to come out. The wait staff was not attentive to our needs/refills or having the courtesy to let us know things would be backed up. They also failed to mention they ran out of part of my partners meal and when asking for the missing item they say we ran out and walked away... not cool at all. Food was OK nothing great... Absolutely amazing service! Great food! Cool vibe! We went on a Saturday night with a reservation so it was busy. There was some mishap in the kitchen that delayed the food. The manager came over and apologized and gave us a free appetizer and drinks. It wasn't even that long of a wait and the food ended up being amazing. The fish tacos were super good. After we ate they came back and gave us 2 free desserts for being so happy and understanding. Both desserts were absolutely delicious (churros and tres leches). Unfortunately like most of the reviews here, the food is a major disappointment. The business is beautiful however I feel the chef, I mean cook came from either Chili's or Applebee's. All the dinner menu are similar looking, Taco's, Enchiladas, Burritos or the out of this world $250 steak. The food is all similar priced $26ish for below Chili's level taste, Chili's had a better tasting burger. I made a noon reservation for Xmas eve thinking we'd have lunch (early dinner), but on arrival we discovered it was breakfast menu. Whoops my poor research and I made reservation on line. We saw there was a wonderful Santa and Mrs. Clause there, seated for photos but they left before I could wander over. It was still charming. We were seated promptly and they quickly provided us chips and salsa. Some of the best I've had in the states. The design inside is so unique there's lots to look at. We tried Las Botellas for brunch and overall left underwhelmed. The drinks were definitely delicious, but very overpriced. The food portions were small for the price--we expected more value. I ordered from the brunch menu and the beans honestly looked and tasted like they were poured straight from a can. I even tried ordering something that came with sides to avoid paying extra, but it still didn't feel worth it. On a positive note, our server was nice and very attentive. We made a reservation for Cinco De mayo right when they opened and did not have to wait. The decor is very social media friendly and there was a lot happening. During our dinner, the dj was blasting music and there was a dancer prancing around the tables. Food was ok, we ordered multiple appetizers, (guac, ceviche, calamari) and tacos. Our experience at the restaurant was really weird! That's the nicest way to put it. The restaurant was really busy, but we had a reservation so we're seated right away. The music was WAY TOO LOUD! We were at a 2 person table and couldn't hear each other. Couldn't imagine being at a bigger table. The music had more of a club vibe than an upscale Mexican restaurant. Didn't match. Our service was so bizarre! It took a while to get our drink order and apps in. So as soon as we could flag down our server, we ordered our food. And it took about 25 minutes to get our drinks. I was facing the bar. I could see the bartenders. There were 3 or 4 of them and didn't seem to be busy at all. Our food came before our drinks did. We ordered fancy cocktails because we really wanted the full experience of this place. (The anticipation of this restaurant has been the talk since we don't get high end restaurants outside of SLC proper) The presentation was cool, but took way too long! It got really awkward waiting for the server to light the drinks on fire, then sprinkle cinnamon. Then light it on fire again. Weird, I just wanted my drink at this point. Our server would disappear for extended periods of time. When she did pop up she would clear a dish without asking if we were finished. She took away our finished cocktail glasses and did not ask us again if we would like another one. Another person came by and did the same thing as well. Took a plate away without asking if we were done. Again, very bizarre. We noticed there were a lot of local social media influencers there. Ahhhh, that made a lot of sense. A lot of attention was paid to them and it seemed the rest of us patrons were left to our own devices. The food...not worth the price tag at all!!! The chips were the best thing we ate. The flight of salsa was okay. More cream sauces then salsas. The pineapple one was the best one. The queso was really tough to eat once it was no longer hot. Tasted good, but turned into a slab of cheese. I ordered the chicken flautas. No flavor. Very bland and dry. My husband ordered the barbacoa enchiladas. Again, no flavor. Not enough sauce. Very underwhelming. The desserts...oh how I wished for a better ending to our meal. The flourless chocolate cake was good. But they used a chocolate sauce with it. Not a good pairing in my opinion. The cake is so dense it really needed a raspberry sauce or something lighter to go with it. My husband got the tres leches cake. It was by far the worst tres leches cake we have had. No flavor. If you are looking for a five star meal, best drink/food presentations/displays and tastes in the world (I travel all the time), this is the place. Did I say drink presentations? Food too, and the birthday boy across from us had a Vegas VIP Club sign and DJ'ish song play for him. We were fortunate to be seated at the owners table, and learned about the creation of most of the recipes's. To create such an epicurean masterpiece they flew in 6 Michelin rated Chefs to create the menu, drinks perfect the salsa, and every bite was an absolute masterpiece. Ritz Carlton meets, Michelin Chefs, meets $25,000 Vegas VIP table, Mastros meets Javier's for a perfect fusion . Masterful food/drink presentations. I thought that I've seen everything, and who would have guessed that my new favorite 5 star Mexican & Steakhouse restaurant would be in Utah. Previously it was Javier's in Newport/Irvine and Mark Wahlberg's new restaurant in Huntington Beach, "Fletchas." A few Hispanic servers/ employees came to help who were courteous but then also received rude treatment from the server. I'm honestly surprised this place is still functioning financially considering they have nothing that makes people want to come back other than the decor inside. Vegas or NYC vibe in Riverton, Utah!? Yep, that's what you get here along with a red carpet and door man. Been here twice. Love the ambiance, the music (even though it's loud) and the service is great! You are paying for this vibe, as the food is hit or miss. For the price, portions are on the small side, but that's alright as I am there for the show and experience. We've have had the guacamole, queso fundido, enchiladas, tacos and a couple of drinks. Queso was too thick, and hardly had any chorizo, and the enchiladas were small and hardly any meat, though the flavor was good. Will def minutely be back, and explore more of the menu. If you go, dress up a little bit. It's definitely upscale for the area, and a nice departure from the same old same old food joint in the area. Also, get reservations ahead of time. Food and experience was great!! The Tres Leches French toast was amazing it's more like a fried cake so it's super sweet! The dancers were a lot of fun to watch and the fire dancer was pretty amazing! It's pretty loud there so the waiters and waitresses have a difficult time taking your order and it's not great for talking to others because you feel like your yelling the whole time. Went for brunch last Saturday for the first time. I don't know how you can mess up a traditional breakfast of eggs, hash browns, bacon and French toast, but Las Botellas did! The bacon looked a bit discolored to me, the hash-browns were mixed with something creamy/moist, the tres letches French toast was soggy and sour...even the eggs were meh, as there was no salt or pepper on the table. Steak tasted like it was boiled with zero seasoning. The rice was barely warm, overcooked and a big clump on the plate. The chips are very thick and the salsa was very heavy on the tomatoes with zero heat. To say we won't be back is a mild reaction to our experience. We had the molten flourless chocolate cake which I would definitely get again served with vanilla Ice cream on top. They were absolutely delicious and paired so well with the rest of our meal. For a starter, we got the tableside guacamole, and of came with a great story from our waiter Alex! He was very attentive with us, and was a great storyteller - it really helped to further set the whole mood of the restaurant. As for our entrees, we went with the Adobaba Pork Tacos & the 45-Day Dry Aged 20oz Bone-In Ribeye. Honestly, that steak was one of the best we have ever had in our lives. It was perfectly cooked and had the most juicy & tender texture. It came smothered in a chimichurri & butter sauce too! We had to try the dessert as well so we got the Tres Leches & the Sweet Corn and Blueberry Buneuelos. Both were also delicious, but we really loved the tres leches. It was light, sweet, and moist! Beautiful restaurant. It's Vegas/LA vibes. They have fire dancers and a DJ on weekends. The food is pricey but worth it. I a Mexican food snob and I gotta say they passed. It's super delicious and I believe the tortillas are hand made. My friend and I shared the birria enchiladas and fish tacos 10/10. The churro and ice cream sandwich was by far my favorite though. I also highly recommend the margarita. A few downfalls, u can't walk in without a reservation and even though I had a reservation at 8:30 I didn't get sat until 9:20 and it a relaxed Sunday night. Anxious to try this place out after seeing clips on social media. Hot and cold review for sure. Buildout 10/10- awesome!!! Food 6/10 Cocktails 6/10 Noise level 0/10- brutal! Entered and immediately was impressed with the buildout, home run here!! The table side guacamole is pointless because the table side experience includes explaining the process, again can't hear. Regardless, the guacamole itself was great. Fish entree was very fishy and not good, food quality not matching the brand at all. Again, difficult to order, ask about the menu etc given the music. Cocktails- all quite sweet even the Oaxaca old fashioned which typically would be liquor forward. Didn't order the "show stopper" drink that is lit on fire and sprinkled with some sort of flammable pixy dust but saw this presentation by one server and it was ok but a dud from another server as it didn't light properly which I'm sure is a training issue? Then come the fire dancers.... Not my thing and just weird but I'm sure many will like it. The "Vegas" birthday parade cheapens this place so much being in a mall in Riverton, UT. Take all the money spent on all the tacky entertainment and find a killer chef, GM and Som. Lastly located essentially in a shopping mall is probably not ideal for this type of concept. Plenty of friendly staff available. Many didn't know who ordered what as they delivered the dishes which is understandable at a new place so that did not factor into this review. Overall feels inspired by vain real housewives and dudes in ripped jeans walking on hot coals and taking multiple ice baths a day- just a guess.... Cool buildout though! read more

Many reviews critique the loud music and dark lighting but I liked both and think it adds to the ambiance. I had the fish tacos and they were fine, I was expecting better and a larger portion but they were ok. The chips and salsa were delicious and fresh.
