    Delicious!

What a find! This place is such a diamond. The service, the vibe and the food, all top tier. Joel greeted us and made us feel so welcomed. Explained the menu and gave us suggestions. My husband had a seafood stew that he absolutely loved. He said the seafood was fresh and the broth was well seasoned. We shared the yucca fries while we waited since my dish took 20 minutes to prepare. They were hot, crispy, lightly salted and delicious. I ordered the fried chicken lunch special (a steal at $15) and it was worth the wait! Piping hot, fresh and well seasoned. Joel recommended a little tajin sprinkled on top and perfection! We will be back to checkout dinner and live music Thus. - Sun.

Service was 10/10 my waiter was detailed, friendly and very attentive. The ambiance was cute, it was low maintenance but a lot of space and a bar inside. I really enjoyed the lunch special they have, it's a half chicken fried or grilled with salad or fries for 15 dollars. I ended up getting the grilled chicken with a salad, which came with its own dressing delicious!!! And I ordered a side of white rice and beans! The beans were a bit lackluster but all in all the food was good quality, great service and clean space.

Food is ok..... ordered to go online. When we picked up the food we saw the restaurant had a full bar. We asked if we can grab a drink and eat our food. The manager or idk who he was rude and said "No, you ordered to go, you can eat it outside" ..... ok bud we didn't know you had a full bar/restaurant otherwise we would have eat in the restaurant. Restaurants can ask for Tips for Togo items, but God forbid they show any customer service or speak to customers with some basic respect

The portion sizes are big, especially if you get the family size meal. The atmosphere was very cozy and felt like a casual place that can be upscale if you wanted to. They had a corner stage for live music and a big bar with TVs to watch games. The service was quick and attentive which was very appreciated cause it was a busy night. The chicken was really good! We opted for the fried chicken and it was one of the best I've had. Very moist and seasoned well with not much oil dripping from the breading. Their flan dessert is great! Good for a date!

I've been to this restaurant twice and both times it was delicious! The restaurant has enough space to accommodate groups too. This last time we ate outside. It is covered so the sun isn't beaming down on your head. The bar is open to the patio too. So far I've tried the Chaufa (highly recommend; I prefer the seafood one) and the Lomo Saltado! The portions for both are pretty good! Both times I took leftovers home. My favorite appetizer is Yucca Frita!! Yumm!! The servers are also very polite and attentive.

WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER | after years of driving past Las Brasas time and time again, we finally got a small group together to try some chicken from Las Brasas! There was plenty of indoor seating when we arrived but I had brought the pup so we hoped to sit outside. Unfortunately, they had just opened their patio up at the time so seating was limited. We had to wait a bit but we were able to order some cocktails while we waited - aka a Pisco Sour, Love from Peru and Chicha Chilcano. My personal favorite was the Pisco Sour but the other two were also quite lovely to drink and to photograph. We were off to a good start with the Pantacones and the Calamari, Shrimp & Aji Pepper Frito. The Lomo Saltado (with linguine noodles) was what I was looking forward to the most but unfortunately was a little salty. But otherwise, flavor was great. The half Pollo Frito was fried TO PERFECTION - super crispy skin and juicy dark meat. However, the seasoning was a little light. The chaufa (house) was also pretty tasty but a little on the salty side. Overall, drinks were on point and our apps were perfect. The seasoning on our entrees could have been a little more refined but overall I really enjoyed the flavors. Hopefully it was just a busy day fluke because I would love to come back in again soon to try some other dishes!

Been a few years since I visited and they have redesigned the interior. Now don't come at me for my opinion as I never try to knock a place down. I give my thought on how I felt with the place & the service. The redesign is personally not to my liking feels a bit cold and the tables/chairs are just simple. Unfortunately I was seated on the tables for 2 that are right next to 3 other tables and you can hear everything being said. 2 tables to my left was a very obnoxiously loud guest. That when a father and minor child sat next to us they got up and relocated as the lady was having "adult content" conversation rather loudly he didn't want to remain there. Idk why I apologized for the lady becuz it was rather annoying. Any who. The reason for the review is the service & food. I go for my staple plate of lomo saltado, Inca & cancha & that didn't disappoint!! My husband got the salmon & he had expected more flavor overall on the dish so he wasn't a happy camper. Order came out correctly but felt the server was a bit lacking on making you feel welcome. I felt as though it was just another table he had to get thru rather quickly. 1 lady in black idk if she was a Mgr or owner she kept tending attention to the obnoxious lady so idk what was up with that. I wud return for my dish but that's about it- didn't feel anything really special about driving 1hr out of my way for dinner

We came here on a Sunday evening and were seated quickly. There are plenty of tables and one sided booth seatings. There is also a bar and a cute patio or outdoor seating. For a group of 5, we ordered a Whole Pollo A La Brasa, House Fries, Calamari & Shrimp Frito, Elotes , and Grilled Asparagus. My favorite of the night was the Pollo A La Brasa. It was my first time having Peruvian chicken, and I was excited to try as I've had recommendations recently. And my expectations were met. It was well seasoned and the chicken was tender & juicy. I will definitely be going to get Peruvian chicken more often. Also a special highlight to the Grilled Asparagus. It honestly is the top 3 asparagus dishes I've ever had. It was soft with the right amount of crunch, and I'm not sure how they seasoned them, but they were so addicting. They could be a little more generous with the asparagus portion. Service was attentive and friendly as we called them over quite often. The food also came out at a good amount of time. They also gave us some roasted Peruvian corn to snack on. These were SO good, it's like a different version of popcorn. My only point of improvement is the ambiance of the restaurant. The decor is fine, but I think the bright white lighting can be a bit too harsh. Switching to warmer lights would bring the restaurant's feel to the next level. Parking isn't an issue here, there is a shared parking lot with McDonald's.

While searching for the best fried chicken in town, I would've never thought that I'd find it at a Peruvian restaurant! Las Brasas is an institution in Decatur, serving massive portions at affordable prices. My partner and I ordered arroz chaufa, elote, and a half portion of fried chicken to share. The elote was creamy, salty, and very sour, probably from the Tajin and lime put on it-- but solid! The arroz chaufa was humongous, with enough portions to feed us for five nights-- tasty, too, and the sauce that went with it had a surprisingly-potent kick! Star of the show, however, was the Peruvian fried chicken ("pollo frito"). We got the half portion (which was the smallest amount), yet it was still massive with two thighs and a wing. I'll be honest and say that, while one of the thighs was perfect (tender, juicy, crispy), the other thigh was dry. Sadly, a bit inconsistent, but I still enjoyed most of the chicken and I especially loved the crackling outer skin. I think the chefs also sprinkled Tajin on top, which added an extra pop of flavor to an already-flavorful chicken. Be aware that service can be really slow and a little standoffish-- we spent over an hour at the restaurant, but to be honest, this is a place to take your time and enjoy the meal presented to you. Las Brasas is a great staple to the Decatur community, and I would return for more!

I knew it when it was at the smaller location before, and the food quality has changed so dramatically. Except for the drinks, we truly felt like the food was lacking flavor. I ordered a reina pepiada and it tasted super flavorless and needed salt and spices and cilantro. My boyfriend ordered the asado negro arepa and liked it but said it also lacked more flavor. The yucca was way too thick and needed way more sauce than what we got to eat with it. Even the plantains lacked salt. I'm not sure if it's because they are trying to cater to a certain audience, but the quality has gone steeply downhill. So much so, I don't think I would go back after that experience. Parking was also a bit difficult to find so plan ahead. There was no line to order. Really sad about how this spot has changed.

There were so many tempting options on the menu, but we landed on the empanadas with mango slaw, birria tacos with a side of vegetables, and the enchiladas suizas. Every single dish was mouthwateringly delicious--nothing fell short of spectacular. Even the service stood out; our waitress was outstanding and made the whole experience even better. The portions are generous, and what really sets this place apart is the seasoning. Each dish had its own unique twist that elevated it well beyond your standard Mexican menu. The slow-cooked meat in both the empanadas and birria tacos was incredibly tender--so good it kept us going back for "just one more bite" long after we were full. And the tomatillo sauce on the enchiladas? Easily the best I've ever had--and I don't say that lightly. I'm a bit of a tomatillo sauce snob, and this one completely blew me away. I will say the service was incredibly slow, I noticed there were only two servers for the entire restaurant so I'm guessing they're understaffed, but be prepared to wait a very long time. The food was absolutely delicious!! Everything was super flavorful and portions were very generous. The ceviche was delicious, I just love the onions that go with it! The fish was a little mushier than what I'm used to having, but still tasty. My favorite dish was definitely the pesto pasta, I saw that dish and I remember that being my favorite when I went to Peru and I immediately had to have it. It's just as good as I remember! The lomo saltado was also super tasty, the sauce was very flavorful. I do think there could've been more beef. The Pescado a lo Macho was super flavorful, the fish was very good and the sauce! I just wanted to take the sauce home with me haha. I wasn't super impressed with the yuca, it was just fine. The yellow sauce it came with was pretty good but the yuca just felt so dense to me. It was very warm and fresh though. I'm not sure how I feel about the picarones, it was not what I expected at all. It wasn't sweet at all which I loved, the only sweetness comes from the syrup, but it definitely needs the syrup or it just doesn't taste like much of anything. The texture was great, and it was very fresh. It was warm and crispy when it came out. It was pretty good but I definitely wasn't blown away. Overall the food was delicious, I just think the wait was too long
