I've had the: Lamb empanadas Elotes Yucca Fried Rotisserie and Fried Chicken Fried Rice The perfect meal is the fried chicken, yucca fries, and elotes. The lamb empanadas consisted of a ground lamb/beef combination lowkey heavy on grease. The second time, not so great. The first time it was shredded, although the man told me it wasn't. Elotes is the street corn consisting of everything good. Pure perfection. The Yucca fries are golden on the outside soft on the inside, always hot. The sauce is like spicy cream, goodness that I could dip anything in. Fried chicken. Muah. The BEST. Fried rice is insignificant, skip over it. Parking on the side of the restaurant, no charge. Really nice spot! Their ceviche offering is bomb. I've never been to place that offer specifically Ecuadorian ceviche. It was so good - I ordered it twice! It comes with buttery white rice and the best tostones I've had. I also ordered the papa a la huancaina, which was okay. The potato was cut so thick so there wasn't as much sauce relative to the large pieces of potato. I also went back and ordered the roast chicken. It was good but I honestly liked the ceviche more. Simply good food My son and I thought we were going to a Mexican spot and in ended up being one of the best experiences. Ok so first things first, I gotta get it out of the way. I am not a local but I was visiting so this was my first impression. This place blew me away. Service: Amazing. Its flavor has so many layers. From the salt level being spot on, the spices adding a nice complexity, and getting the umami just right made it one of the best meals I've had. And the crunch! Las Brasas was my first dip into the Peruvian food scene. Really wanted a Lomo Saltado and they have a great one. Perfectly cooked steak, over fries, tomatoes, and onions. Although with a side of rice and soy sauce it was a great combination of ingredients. Since Las Brasas was off the made strip of Decatur parking was not an issue as they have a sizable parking lot. It's not the fanciest place, the vibe is real casual, but the food is legit. I mean you walk in and literally see the chicken roasting. I love chaufa and $22 seems steep but the portion is huge. If you want fried chicken that is perfectly prepared, come here'l! It has a nice spice, and breading that's not too thick and overwhelming. It comes out piping hot too because their fried chick is to order. We also enjoyed the appetizer of lamb with papa rellena that is crunchy outside! This place is touted as authentic Peruvian food, which I think can be hard to find sometimes, so I was excited to see what it was all about. I wanted an authentic experience so I tried the hongo saltado - it's basically a stir fry of mushroom + other veggies and fries in a salty, slightly tangy sauce, served with either rice or linguine pasta on the side. (I don't eat meat, or else would have tried the famous lomo saltado.) It was pretty good, but it was very salty (true to its name, I suppose). Salt was the overpowering flavor of the entire dish, and I didn't particularly enjoy that - I don't think I would get it again. My friend (who has lived in Peru) ordered a pisco sour (an authentic Peruvian drink) and enjoyed that. Other things ordered were the chaufa (fried rice) and the solterito salad, and everyone seemed to enjoy those. For dessert we tried the lucuma cheesecake and chocolate cake - the chocolate cake was nothing to write home about, and the cheesecake was rich, except that it came with strawberry, not lucuma. Overall, the food is solid, and I think generally stands up to its claim of authentic Peruvian food (excepting the dessert). read more

Delicious Peruvian food right in the middle Of Decatur! This location never disappoints and has great food time and time again. They have both indoor and outdoor dining (and pick up of course). Parking is available behind the restaurant and there's a spot right in front if you are just grabbing food to go. Staff is courteous and food is fresh and flavorful. Came here twice while on a business trip to Atlanta. Why? Its good food :) !! Had different plates each night, but food was fresh and ceviche had nice blend of lemon and spices. Staff was friendly and they had outdoor dining to boot. Enjoyed the Beer selection too with alot of south american brews on offer. One of my favs while eating there were the yucca fries! I found this Peruvian place and I was looking forward to trying some Rotisserie chicken and Chaufa. I've never had fried chicken in a Peruvian restaurant so when I saw it on the menu, I figured I would try both (to share with others, don't go thinking I eat a lot of food like that). Well, the fried chicken was the best choice here. It tasted great and was surprisingly light to me. Almost like you can eat a bunch of it and think you could eat more because it tastes so good. And you know you should stop eating it but you can't help it type of tastes good. So if you go here, get the fried chicken. I also had the Chaufa Lomo. Great side item to share with others with the chicken. Give that a shot as well. This place is just a little far for me, but if I'm in the area, I'll go here. They do make the food to order, so be prepared to wait a little bit, but the food is worth it. read more

This is my second time going to the restaurant. The first time they didn't have the corn and they didn't have fried chicken. I was deeply disappointed but we still ate there and had the best Peruvian house fried rice so this time we attempted to return and have the corn and the fried chicken and they had both and it did not disappoint. It was so good and flavorful. Now their service leaves a little bit to be desired but we exercised our patients because we know these are difficult times for serving staff and restaurants but if I had to say anything was less than desirable it was the service which means everything else was on point. Environment/Decor: When you first walk in you are basically greeted by the kitchen and an ordering counter?, but then you veer off to the right and the dining room space is open and bright, with vibrant colors and a welcoming bar to the left side of the room. Food/Drink: (We were really hungry so don't judge!) Ordered 2 of the Pollo a la Brasa Half Chicken Combo (one w/ House Yucca Fries and the other w/ the Papa a la Huancaina) and the Chaufa Pollo. They had specialty cocktails that day so we ordered the HABA Straw-tini, Dragonfire-tini, Very Berry Strawberry Mojito, and the Strawberry Old Fashioned. The Polo a la Brassa was delicious, but it came out cold so I had to send it back to get reheated (which they did with no fuss). The Yucca Fries were really crispy and great and the Papa a la Huancaina tasted somewhat like a potato salad. All the cocktails were tasty and I like that they incorporated fresh ingredients like fruits, mint, and ginger. Service: Rob the bartender was stellar! The ceviche was nice & fresh, papa a la huancaina delicious, the pollo salteado yummy! Street corn was a little on the tart side but it was very good. I tried both the white & red sangrías: both delicious! 4 stars instead of 5 only because we waited a long time for our drinks while the bar tender watched videos on her phone. We really enjoyed our dinner at Las Brasas. We recently traveled to Peru and had a hankering for some Peruvian fare so went with our daughter and son in law. We ordered the whole chicken family style meal as well as lomo saltado, salad, lamb empanadas and several of the cocktails. We really enjoyed everything. The lomo was the stand out. I'm not a lamb fan, so will just say others loved the empanadas. We all loved the chicken and sauces. But everyone's favorite was the lomo. We ordered one entre and shared it all around. The drinks were all great. I had the sangria, and others ordered the mama quilla, the Roselyn, etc. Basically we tried several and they were all super! Cant' wait to go back and try the pisco sour and other menu items. I'm visiting Atlanta and being Peruvian myself I was excited to try this place, however I was a little disappointed with the food specially from a place that has favorable reviews. My 5 year old ordered ceviche de pescado and I ordered anticuchos de corazón. The ceviche had a weird taste, probably limón was not used or it had been out too long? The pieces of fish were big and it needed more seasoning. Way too much onions too. The seasoning in the anticuchos did not taste like the traditional seasoning, the ají sauce was not traditional and it wasn't served with choclo either. I think the only good part was the potatoes. When I asked for rocoto sauce I thought they had a sauce made but I'm pretty sure they gave me the ones you can buy at the store, no seasonings on it either. Pretty bland. I also got 2 raw chunks of beef heart and that made me want to throw up. The chicha morada tasted like it was old. I'm only giving them 2 stars because even though the service was slow and the food wasn't good, the server was pretty nice. read more
