Everyone else's raving reviews made me excited to try Las Cazuelas, but my experience was not quite as good as I had anticipated. The food was mediocre, the service was inattentive: one person's meal came out terribly late, requested items were forgotten, refills of drinks were nonexistent and we had to go in search of a staff member to get our check after they disappeared. I don't want to focus only on the negative, since maybe it was an off night. And I can't imagine that all these good reviews are wrong. If I'm in the area, I may give it a try another time. The food and service from this family owned and run restaurant is truly second to none in this valley, and among Mexican food, in my humble opinion it is THE BEST! The make everything from scratch. Their chips, sauces, tortillas are so good and their recipes and spicing for the meats are magnificent! One of the ways I personally judge a Mexican place is by their Al Pastor and by their Carne Asada. Las Cazuelas has some of the best I have ever had, even while in Mexico. Many of my friends say the same and with see why I've never taken them there before. Tonight I had the super nachos with Al Pastor and it was spectacular!! There was all the good stuff in every bite. We used to frequent this restaurant many years ago under different ownership and haven't been for years. Decided to give it a try since it has litterally been years. The food is nice and fresh and the service is top notch. We've gone twice in the past month and have tried the chili relleno, burritos, enchiladas, entomatadas,flautas and chimichangas. All have been great. The chips are fresh and homemade, just like we like them. We will definitely be visiting more often. Update: we've back been a few more times and everything has been great. After spending $20 on a breakfast plate and a $5 aqua fresca drink , they still charge you for a side of Salsa . Very unheard of and this is why these small establishments don't last. They don't understand customer service. Definitely won't be back. read more

This place is good, damn good, small little hole in the wall tucked away in a strip mall in Taylorsville. I was pleasantly surprised to find a good "authentic" Mexican restaurant in Taylorsville I just had to try it. I had a huarache with carne asade (steak) and Las Cazuelitas plate. Both were so good seasoned really well and came out hot. They make fresh masa for the huaraches and sopes also handmade corn tortillas that were delicious. Salsas hot, juices fresh and refreshing I cant wait to come back.... maybe next time I will get luck and come into some live music, that would be awesome. read more

You'll know as soon as you walk in and you see an army of fierce ladies working the kitchen, and an aroma of pure deliciousness that hits you the moment you walk in. It's apparent they have decades of experience. Get the large serving, even if you don't finish it all, you can make ramen with the left overs, I always do. You can tend a good authentic Mexican food place by the fact most people in the restaurant spoke Spanish. We found a good one! We all ended up getting the lunch specials. Not bad for $6.50. Chips and some good spicy salsa came with our meal. I'm pretty sure the tortillas were homemade and delicious! I had a carne asada burrito with rice and beans. The beans and rice were exactly what you would want at a true Mexican food place. Good tasting beans and perfectly cooked rice. The carne asada was really good too. Came here because it had great reviews and my mom didn't want to cook. Well it was a big mistake lol. I ordered the shrimp cocktail which had no taste at all and she ordered a soup called "aguachilles" which was pretty much the same as a cocktail except with a lot of cucumbers and some raw butterfly shrimp The only good food was my daughters quesadilla which was made with a homemade tortilla and the fruit waters. This place has the best authentic Mexican tacos of any place I can remember going in the last few years, they've become the measuring stick that I rate all other tacos against. I have to say that I haven't had of the rest of the menu because the tacos are so good. I mention Mexican tacos because this isn't your Taco Bell crunchy taco fare, these are authentic like the tacos you get from the guys running Taco carts downtown (but taste better). I recommend getting the Asada Tacos with a side of guacamole. First off the tacos aren't too big, 3 is a meal, 4 is too much to eat; but they're only $1.50 a piece so it's not expensive. Get them with the onions and cilantro on top. I don't even like cilantro but on these it's amazing. Then slather a ton of the guacamole on top of the taco and enjoy. It's fantastic. The guacamole deserves praise in itself, the side of guac costs $4!!! But it's a whole avocado, not just a tiny ketchup cup of green paste. It's made fresh for your order with onions, cilantro and line juice in it, and it perfectly mashed to still have some chunks of avocado in it. Even after loading the guacamole in your tacos you'll have half an order left over, take it home and buy a bag of chips on the way. Definitely give this place a try for good, low priced authentic Mexican food. And try the taco with guacamole, it's the best! read more

This business has been in my neighborhood for over 10 year. I've confidently brought corporate executives here. The Atmosphere is great, free wify, the food is cheaper than it should be, the staff is always prompt and accommodating. I believe this to become a trendy restaurant. Have never made a mistake. Have a wide variety on their menu. One time they helped me over some personal matter and kept the beer flowing. They did everything asked and went above and beyond. There is one thing that has bothered me however. I have taken Hispanic women here who they address first when ordering. Ask the man. Went to Las Cazuelas in Taylorsville for lunch today with my daughter. We have always enjoyed the food there but hadn't been there in a while. Very disappointed. The place felt dirty. I ordered the chiles rellenos ($12 dish) and what i got was a sloppy plate of food. The breading was saggy and falling off. Sauce looked like a puddle of oil and water. Tasted it and it was GROSS. Tasted almost fishy. I told the server I didn't like it. She said "ok let me go tell them". When she came back i told her i wanted to order something different. She told me she had to charge me for them because there was nothing wrong with them and that was the restaurant policy. That is ridiculous! I work in the industry and i understand we make mistakes, but when someone gives you an opportunity to fix it then you fix it. I paid and left without eating. We will never be back. read more
