If I could rate it a 0 I would but one is wayyyy too high to rate this place. Awful customer service and took them an hour and a half to seat my party when they had my table already ready. If you come in be prepared to have some hostesses with attitudes and wait for too long a time. They wanted the whole party there which is reasonable but we were only missing 2 people out of the whole party who was ready there waiting for longer then me. Took them forever to take our drink orders and even longer to bring out the food. The food was cold and did not taste right. We paid too much money for these people to have us held hostage there for 4 hours. The bill was all messed up so we ended up paying more then we needed to. When we brought it up to their attention they took 25 minutes to fix the issue. I should've known by how messy everything was that we shouldn't have eaten there but we we're celebrating my cousins birthday so we needed to be here for her. Next time we will just go across the street to Stevie Bo's because they are much more organized there then this place. It was loud and packed and trash everywhere. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worse enemy. I am very hard to disappoint and this place had me very heated. Never again will I spend my hard earned cash on a disgusting restaurant like this one here. I recommend Pappadeaux if you want some good seafood for a similar price. A restaurant with lots of contradictions. The food is generous and tasty, but odd as they don't include normal sides with large dishes (giant seafood player with no torillias?) charge a few dollars more and make the meal memorable. They serve shots in plastic shot glasses? What is this low class Tijuana? Bottom line, great chief, poor management with no clue how to to make it a "have to go" place...so close, and yet so far. Oh lastly, couldn't make it with people who really know how great Mexican restaurants run. Mariachi 's charge up front for songs, instead of going for tips and great atmosphere??? So just know what this place is....lastly the waiter meant well, but accidentally dumped sauce all.over the floor, while my friend was in the bathroom, he came out of the bathroom and fell big time. We came in a group of 8 people and all tried different items they were all delicious but our favorite one was the Pina Rey. The one thing that could be better is the service. One thing that bothered us that they brought 4 plates first and 15 minutes later brought the rest of them. There was live music which was definitely nice! Although this is a Mexican Seafood Restaurant, I was craving a chunky asada burrito so I ordered from UberEats. The burrito was huge, the steak plentiful, but the rice on the side was incredible. Probably the best Mexican rice I've ever had. Will order again! read more

My family and I have been to this restaurant a couple times and have always enjoyed our experience. After the experience we had this weekend we will not return. I ordered the Mojarra a la talla, and after the first bite realized it was burnt. I immediately told the waiter about my concern and he was very nice and offered to bring me something else instead. A couple minutes later a woman who seemed to be the manager came and told me she could not exchange my burnt fish. She relied on the fact that the fish was suppose to be grilled to refuse to replace my burnt food. She told me I could order something else but would have to pay for both the burnt fish and my replacement meal. I did not eat my plate of burnt fish, and paid full price for it at the end. My family and I were out to celebrate and this ruined our night. The two stars were earned by the waiter who was very respectful and apologized several times. read more

Very unpleasant experience on Saturday. I frequent this spot because they have the most amazing crab legs in life! Naturally, when I had a friend mention she wanted a margarita...I took her to Las Costas. After bragging about how I frequent and the drinks I was surprised when we stepped in and we're not greeted. I proceeded to the bar and she danced as she heard the bands play before being seated. We sat at the bar unattended for several minutes salivating at all the drinks places before the other patrons. I grew impatient as the bartender sat menus before us and proceeded to walk away unenthusiastic about her job or life. 10 minutes later...still waiting. I then noticed a a customer sit at the bar and he was immediately served. Management either needs to make it a point to hire a male bartender so that he can cater to women who sit at the bar area or retrain current staff to be cordial with female patrons. I would hate to think that we were not served expeditiously for any reason besides sex or mere oversight...I cannot, however, rule it out. We ended up leaving and going to Applebee's down the road in Duluth. The drinks weren't massive but the service was outstanding and bartenders welcoming!! read more

This is a great place to have good time. You can make reset but not on the weekends so more than likely there will be a wait for you and your guest but it will be well worth it. It's an overall sensory experience. Everyone is having a good time, there is usually live music going, people are celebrating special occasions and the food is great. The only downside is the wait and the parking is usually tight. But you will not be disappointed. read more

First time, will NOT be the last! What a unique experience!!! This place is energetic, loud, and alive!!! It was extremely busy, Fortunately we sat at the bar and was greeted immediately by Allie. Allie was enthusiastic, hospitable, bilingual, and very eager to make this a fantastic experience. She thoroughly explained the menu and offered tons of choices to our needs! Our drinks were STRONG and delicious! The food was flavorful and not your typical "Mexican" cuisine! There's a lot of reviews about seafood. I'm not a seafood person so please understand that my review is NOT about the seafood. I ordered the chicken/rice burrito with three sauces over it and rice and beans. It was tasty, for sure, but the chicken seemed to be a bit dry. The portion for $10 was huge, though. Everything else on the menu was fairly expensive. I definitely ordered one of the cheapest things on the menu. The Yelp rating has $$, but I would make it closer to $$$ because you're going to be spending more than $20/person alone just for the entree if you want seafood. When you first walk in, instead of the usual chips and salsa, this place offers a complimentary ceviche. The ceviche itself was a little bland. It definitely could've used some salt and seasoning. As for the ambience, there is a live mariachi band. You can pay them $20 to play whatever song you'd like. I'd imagine this would be a lot of fun if you were listening to them play. If you aren't however, it can be annoying. The music was so loud that I had trouble listening to my friends speak. If you feel as though this would be a problem for you, make sure to get outdoor seating. I think this decreases the noise level, but the restaurant is off of a very busy section of Pleasant Hill road so keep that in mind. The service is nice, I went here about a month ago and have no complaints about the service. I thought I lost something at the restaurant (which I later found in my car... oops), and the greeter at the door took my name and contact info in case they found it later. The wait time was a bit more lengthy than you'd expect for Mexican fare, but the restaurant is also a very big place. read more

Everytime I come here I get bad service. Tuesday nights are always packed, ton of people, good music, so understandable for service to be a little slow. This encounter was on a Thursday night. Literally a handful of people sitting at the bar. I ordered fried fish, and my friend ordered a burrito, which both took over an hour to get to us. My friend had got there before me and was STILL waiting on his food lol. The bartender rarely came to check on us. What made me ask her about our food was about 5 other guys sat at the bar, ordered, and got their food in 10 mins. Not to mention this was our first time dinning in, & I'm not talking about the food because the food was delicious indeed just the service we had was unacceptable. Our server I believe her name was Adriana (according to our receipt) or whatever her name was because she never really introduced herself to us. She was really unprofessional our food literally took more than 1 hour , matter in fact the people who were sat behind us came in 30 mins after us and got there food before us !!! Our dishes were literally the easiest things to be cooked. She also never apologized. I understand if the restaurant is busy or if "she had many tables" but she could've atleast came and apologize. Not to mention all of us at the tables are servers at another restaurant & we know how to politely communicate with our customers and inform them when something might take long or make sure they are okay. One other thing is that she never came to check on us we had a couple of items that were wrong but couldn't inform her because she hardly showed up & she was very rude when she would come to the table , TERRIBLE ATTITUDE!!!!! I went to this location over an hour before the posted closing time of 11pm. There was a lady sweeping the floor, that chose to ignore me, despite my several attempts to get her attention. I then went to the bar, and got ignored by the bartender. I patiently waited, thinking that I would get some sort of response upon eye contact. I made eye contact with her at least 3 times before she turned and walked the opposite direction. When she returned, it was the other customers at the bar that she had just served a drink to, that had to inform her that I had been waiting. The bartender then told me to "hold on" and walked away again. When she returned, she acted like she did not want to speak with me. I finally stepped up and asked if I could place a to go order or what, because that was all I wanted (when I called to place the order on the phone, no one answered). She then told me that they closed 30 minutes ago. I was upset because 1) if that was the case, why did it take 15 minutes for 1 person to tell me that, 2) if you closed 30 minutes ago, how is it that you literally just served a new drink to a customer. I felt like this was not a place where I wanted to spend my money. So needless to say, I took my business elsewhere and have no desire to go and spend money at a location where I feel that I am not welcomed. read more
