Amazing Mexican restaurant. What a surprise to find authentic Mexican food with great service, delicious food and fun ambiance.

What a total shocker! We've passed this place so many times, always noticing it was packed but never paying much attention. After too much family for the holidays, a margarita was in order. I ordered the crab legs and my husband ordered longosta. It was more food than we could possibly eat! They bought 8 huge clusters of deliciously spiced crab legs and my husbands food was so flavorful! The drinks, which got us in the door, did not disappoint. I had a Mexican mojito and a pomegranate margarita... they exceeded all expectations! Definitely a place to try - fun, festive with food that won't leave you disappointed! We'll be back! read more

I came into this restaurant because we wanted some seafood reviews were great! We made a reservation. We proceeded to order our food got our drinks. And we waited for our food. And waited and kept waiting so we started to wonder why after 45 mins we had no food in our table. Then our server comes back with a scared face. He then tells us he forgot to put our order in and tells us that the kitchen is closed but we can order off the grill. He apologized several times but that wasn't going to get us what we ordered. We paused because honestly we were very disappointed and hungry. If we wanted grilled food we could of went anywhere else. read more

This restaurant was excellent from the service to the food! Came here to celebrate a coworker's going away party and we couldn't have picked a better restaurant! Crab legs, shrimps, drinks, live music, and great company made it a very fun night! Mary and Seydi were our waitresses and were efficiently able to take care of 15 plus people in our party! I have eaten here several times on my way home from work. The food is outstanding, and the beer is always ice cold! While the food, price and atmosphere are a nice start, NOTHING beats the OUTSTANDING SERVICE! I always sit at the bar, which sometimes can be a difficult place to get quality service. Not here! In particular, MARIBEL (who doubles as a bartender and server) does an outstanding job! She is always friendly and attentive... Just what I'm looking for! It was my very first time at this place on Sunday. I sat at the bar and hung out with my bartender Aly. She was very sweet, personable and knew a lot about drinks and crafted bartending. When we came in on Saturday Reyna was our waitress and was fantastic. She was pleasant, greeted us with a smile, and very friendly. We requested crab legs and she gave us details about what we would be receiving. She also suggested which domestic beers we should get. Our drinks and beer came out very quickly. Once the meal arrived she was attentive and checked back with us consistently. The crab legs were fresh and ask for the SteeLow sauce. It's amazing and that's why we will be back. My husband and I live down the street from this restaurant. We always notice it's packed. He knows I love Mexican food and decided to take me here for Mother's Day. We walked in and noticed there were families waiting. I told one of the hostess' "two". She started speaking in Spanish to another hostess who pulled out two menus. A Spanish couple walks in behind us, gets the hostess' attention, and she seats them. The other hostess tells us its going to be a 40 minute wait. My husband was furious! He said "why were they seated?" She said "They had a reservation." I'm assuming if you do not speak Spanish.....this place is not for you and your kind. Shame on them. read more

Authentic Mexican Seafood Cuisine Good Not Excellent. We went to Las Costas Nayaritas in Duluth, GA on a Sunday afternoon in March 2016. The parking lot was very packed when we arrived and were worried that might have a long wait, but we didn't. Our wait was less than 5 minutes. We did arrive around 4:25, so the wait was short. When we were leaving around 6:00 there were many families waiting for a table. If you are going for dinner on a weekend you may want to arrive before 5pm if you don't want to wait. We were seated in a booth and loved the decor and ambiance of the restaurant. Lot's of wood and vibrant colors, really a traditional Mexican feel. We were quickly brought tosdadas, habanero sauce and fish ceviche. My husband is from Mexico, so we know authentic Mexican food. I enjoyed the ceviche, but my husband thought it was very bland. We did add salt to it, but I enjoyed it a lot. Our waitress was a little slow in taking our order, but they did have a full dining room. My husband ordered a beer and I ordered the Michelada Costeno which included 4-5 shrimp on the rim of the glass and two oysters in the michelada. They were out of draft beer on the day we visited so my husband settled with a bottle of beer, which he was unhappy about. The michelada was good, not great, but I enjoyed it. We ordered a shrimp and octopus cocktail to share and my husband ordered the Seafood soup with 7 kinds of seafood and I ordered the garlic and guajillo pepper shrimp. The cocktail de camaron y pulpo (shrimp and octopus) was not good. Although the octopus was VERY tender, the cocktail mix was nothing like what we'd ever tasted before. I do know that different regions of Mexico have their own unique ways of making certain dishes, so maybe this is the problem, but we've had Mexican shrimp cocktail in various locations in Mexico and this was by far the worst we've ever tried. I think they must have just put in too much black pepper (we never use black pepper in our cocktail when we make it at home, so that's why I say it's the black pepper). The main dishes were GREAT. My husband's soup was one of the best we've ever tasted and my garlic/guajillo shrimp was just as great. Really flavorful and tasty. My dish came with rice, lettuce/tomatoes and french fries. Not sure why the fries, I didn't eat them, but the shrimp and rice were amazing. While we chose the seafood dishes, they did have meat dishes and fajitas on the menu. Also Note they do have a mariachi band playing on the weekends, (not sure about during the week). My husband didn't like the loudness of the Mariachi, I thought it was fine. In some corners it was hard for the waiters to move around the band to deliver food take orders. In some spaces their the aisles just aren't big enough to accommodate a band like that. Our waitress was friendly and we had a nice dinner. Our only complaint with the waitress, was that it seemed after we asked her for the check, she didn't return for about 10-15 minutes with our check and she seemed more interested in helping other tables since we were already finished. It did take us almost 20 minutes to actually leave the restaurant after we requested our ticket. We would return to the restaurant and give it one more try because of the quality of the main dishes. We would however pass on the cocktail and just order the main dishes. Hopefully next time they have draft beer. read more

I LOVE this place! The food was good, its a true seafood restaurant as the seafood options were endless. We sat at the bar because we came to DRANK! The food was ok, the drinks were below average, but they were HUGE and STRONG! What sold me was the atmosphere. There was a live band, and everyone seemed so loose and happy ( my type of people)! My husband and I were the only black people in the entire building, but everyone was so pleasant and made us feel comfortable. There was a language barrier, but we made it work and got everything that we needed. Although our server was friendly, and tried really hard, the service was pretty bad. The place was packed, so our order (even the appetizer) took a really long time to come out. Our server forgot our drink orders constantly, and she wasn't as attentive as she could have been. My brother and I had ordered the most simplest plate on the menu and it took them 40 minutes to bring our food when they had brought my mother's food first than us two. This is my second time here and each visit has been a pleasant experience. The service was great! Our waiter was very attentive and we were seated in a timely manner. On my first visit I tried the ceviche and it was great. I would say it was the best In the area. For my entrée I had the chicken and shrimp fajitas, exceptional and very delicious. I would like to add that the entertainment from the norteño band was quite exquisite! The steak is cooked so perfect and the pasta melts your mouth with so much flavors. The waitresses are always friendly and polite. We also love ordering the margaritas! My visit to Las Costas Nayaritas was more than I expected out of a Latin Restaurant. My fiancé and I had dinner and drinks, we ordered margaritas and they were made to order, the service was great! Even the manager Ruben came to greet us and brought more sauce for our tacos and limes for my fiancé's plate. Hubby and I went to this place the other day and we absolutely enjoyed everything about it. They actual give you a free ceviche appetizer with your meal. Where else can you go and get a FREE appetizer with your meal? Rueben (the manager) was very helpful. He asked was it our first time at the restaurant and we told him yes, he suggested things we should try. Saul (bartender) was very helpful and kept checking in on us to make sure everything was okay. Rueben also checked in on us as well. The food was seasoned well and very good. You also will not leave this place hungry because of the large portions. We will definitely be back! I rated this place a 2 because I had a sub-par experience 1/2 through my stay. Initially, the place seemed fun. They had live music, the ambiance is costal Mexican and you literally feel as if you are off the Gulf aside the blue waters. The service is a bit slow, the server was a bit pushy and insisted on speaking Spanish assuming that everyone could understand her though we were speaking ENGLISH TO HER. The prices are HIGH!!!!! The drinks are decent but we had to send a pitcher of margaritas back twice bc it was all sour mix. Come on.... margaritas are not difficult to make. The food came out wrong so I sent it back. The server at first admitted she messed up and that she would correct it. 15 minutes later, we get the correct dish and she actually brought back the old dish and asked if I wanted it anyway. I told her no because I did not eat what she brought out initially. She ended up going around the table to see if anyone wanted to keep it and found someone said yes. at the end, she ended up charging the table for the incorrect dishes she brought back a second time asking us to keep because she didn't want to "throw them out." I ended up having to argue with her that I was not paying for any incorrect dish. Her response was, "well they agreed to pay them if they took them." I had to laugh, literally LOL cause she told that to the wrong person. I argued with her and explained that I was not paying anything I did not order, if she messed the plates up that was on her and that it was also on her if they deduct those dishes from her pay for messing them up. She finally gave up and credit my check almost 30 dollars that she wanted TO STEAL FROM ME! no mam' IDK how its done where you are from but shit isn't going to go down like that in pocket. I do not recommend based on my experience but feel free to give it a try and maybe your server won't try to steal from you. read more
