I was on my way back to the Bay Area from Sacramento and was looking for a place to eat by Galt, and saw this place on yelp. I was starving and their service was fast and efficient! But let me tell you about the food! The food was out of this world if I could eat here every day I would. The fish tacos I ordered were cooked to perfection I had to order more for home! I had the pleasure of meeting the chef, Ruben he was very friendly and I could tell he cooked the food with a passion. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants authentic Mexican food. WE CANNOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS! Went on 4/12/18 with my family. Went in and the waiter never took our order, didn't offer us drinks, or serve the complementary ceviche and tostadas while we waited. My family waited 20 minutes, called over the waiter who made eye contact, ignored us and continued walking. The staff did not acknowledge our wait or apologize. We felt judged and discriminated because we had two babies. We simply wanted to have a nice family dinner and walked out without ordering food because we were never attended. The staff acted arrogant and unwelcoming. On other occasions, I have ordered take out from this restaurant and received my food in melted styrofoam. I brought this to the attention of the staff, yet I have seen no change in food safety practices. Ingested styrofoam can cause major health issues. Came here when in Galt for business after reading restaurant reviews on Yelp. My husband and I were impressed with the seafood ceviche or salsa and tostadas brought to our table as a free appetizer. So delicious and refreshing! as well as a pleasant change from your standard salsa with chips. We each had a fish taco which were fresh and perfect. We also split a lunch special of chicken fajitas. Came in on Friday night for dinner. It was busy for the dinner rush. Luckily, I found an empty parking spot in front, as the lot was full. The waitress and hostess were really friendly. They came to refill and answer any questions we had. Food was great, as well as speedy. We had ordered the langostinos, special fajitas, horchata and a michelada. Enjoyed everything to the last bite and sip. We loved and adored the live mariachi, a tight knit family band. They went from table to table for sing requests or themes. Served sea-food salsa (excellent) and chips prior to entree. Fish tacos were served on 2, delicious, paper-thin tortillas, large amounts of deep fried fish, cabbage and special topping sauce. The restaurant itself is really nice. The bar is amazing! However, I was not pleased by my to go order. I was really disappointed on the quality of food I received. My food was cold and my tortillas were hard. I ordered some ceviche and it had more vegetables than shrimp. Its almost like the vegetables were compensating for the lack of shrimp. I took my family from out of town there last Saturday and it was very pleasant we previously had a very bad experience but decided to give it another try. We got seated promptly and were quickly greeted by our waiter(Sarah) who took our drink order and said she would be back to take our order. They served us ceviche as a starter with tostadas. Our waited gave us our drinks and took our order quickly our food took about 10 minutes and it was all delicious. The food was exceptional that day and the service was amazing our waiter was taking care of alot of tables but would constantly come by to see if we needed anything or to refill our drinks she was very pleasant,in our previous experience our waiter would disappear that's why we where hesitant to return . Ive been here twice around 11:30 ish and both times as we walkin were told sit anywhere, and thats fine with me, but service is extremely slow and it looks like they are understaffed at the busisest time (lunch). the ladies are trying their hardest you can see it but they cannot handle the amount of tables by themselves,(management problem) also in my opinion the tortillas are horrible they rip when you try and separate them, and they are heated up like in a microwave or something. i assure you if handmade tortillas were served even if they charged for them, people would prefer those,i don't think i personally will be going back anytime soon unless service and food quality improve it seems like this place is piggy backing off the success of the other Islitas restaurants and have lost sight of quality and has put profit before it. read more

We didn't get any refills and had to wait and wait for the check. The carne asada and camerones was good, the beans and rice was very bland. Yhey were a little overpriced and their meals were tasty but not as good as I heard they would be. The cocktail de camarones and cocktail de pulpo were not as good as other places we've been to.
