This is the beginning of a great relationship. The food was excellent, with just the right amount of "down-home" to make it feel and taste like your favorite aunt is doin' the cookin'. We both had the "Rendezvous"; two eggs, perfectly crispy hash-browns, three excellent sausage links, English muffin (I'm thinkin' homemade preserves). Our server, I believe her name was Kim, was engaging and very attentive...just like a neighbor. We will definitely be back...probably weekly.

We were hopeful going in, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. Our server, Brenton, was one of the rudest employees we've encountered not just at Pelican Brewing Company, but anywhere along the Oregon coast. He came across as though he genuinely disliked his job, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere. Because of this, my husband and I decided not to order anything and chose to leave instead. The overall vibe made it difficult to enjoy our visit. Needless to say, we won't be returning to this location. In the future, we would much rather drive the extra 45 minutes to the Pelican Brewing Company Cannon Beach location, which has always offered a much more welcoming environment and friendly service.

A few patrons came in and out for beers to-go, a few stayed to enjoy beers on-site like us. I quite liked the quiet evening so we could fully soak in the goodness of de Garde beer, the warm atmosphere, and have time to chat with the friendly bartender on shift. We had a few beers on the patio to enjoy the cool coastal air, then moved inside for our next round. We enjoyed sitting in both areas. While all of their beer is phenomenal to us, the stand outs for me were The Purple: Gin Barrel Cuvee and The Renrocha. The chowder itself was worth traveling from Rockaway to Tillamook for. It was even worth a more industrial view vs. an establishment with a more coastal and picturesque backdrop. The salad bar was on point. The variety of salad add-ins, dressings, and topping crunchy-bits were epic. It was a nice balance to the very rich perfect chowder I am already missing. I miss it. I miss the chowder. My husband also got the fish tacos, based on others' reviews and enjoyed every bite. I enjoyed their Dragon Fruit Cider, and he ordered one of their Meaty Bloody Mary's. If you are on the fence if you should order one, you should. You should get that bloody mary. The bloody mary then led us to purchase some of their salami and bologna. I have gotten the breakfast burrito when having breakfast and would characterize it as large, yet underwhelming in taste. None of the beers that i have tried are particularly memorable, but they are very drinkable. The service is courteous and they strive to keep the tables clean. The ordering here is done at the counter and I have found this to be a great way of taking orders in a casual establishment. This allows one to peruse the menu at a table at one's own speed, then walk up to the counter to ask any questions about the menu and then place the order. My experiences have been that the employee at the register has always been patient, informative and respectful. They bring your order to your table when it is ready. My experience is that they give you a conservative estimate of the time for preparing and the real time has been shorter. Note that I think they do a good job with turnaround times given how many customers are in the restaurant combined with their apparent significant take-out business. My dinner experiences have been very satisfying and that is what one would expect from a meat purveyor. However, they do not fumble the ball on the execution. Casual food, but tasty. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating: plenty of both. Part of the outside seating is heated and covered during much of the year. I have never been there when you could not choose a table. I think a great casual stop, and a unique one, when visiting the Tillamook area.
