It's love. Finally got a chance to try this when our paths crossed in Sacramento. The biggest hits were the pepino/guava agua fresca, the jackfruit birria taco and EVERYTHING that included the Chikn. The birria taco was the perfect combination of crunch and structure from the tortilla and gooey luscious goodness from the vegan cheese, cherry on top was the dipping birria juice. Top notch, must order again. The other star of the show was the Chikn, the texture was exactly what I always hope for in vegan proteins, big pieces instead of little chunks helped that a lot. We had the Chikn in the taco version and burrito version and both were hits. I am excited for our next experience together. Especially if they are the vegan tacos from this Barbie-Pink food truck. I'll admit my first experience with Las Maris was horrendous. But a recent evening that found me rushing to High Water Brewing in time to meet friends for trivia left me starvin like Marvin and the thought of pairing delicious beer with vegan tacos beckoned me to this Pepto Bismol-colored truck parked right...in...front. After eating these tacos I can tell you that Las Maris + High Water Brewing is a match made in my vegan heaven. And both were popping on a trivia Wednesday night. Really hope that continues. I had the jackfruit birria and mushroom asada street tacos and both were fantastic and packed with flavor. If I absolutely had to choose, I'd get those jackfruit birria tacos again first. Wasn't sure about vegan Mexican food. But since my daughter is vegetarian we have expanded our palate. Man get over here to Las Marias and have yourself some vegan Mexican food!! You won't even know your not eating meat! It's really that good. Birria jackfruit taco with consommé was so good! The consommé had a nice spicy kick and the "cheese" was melted so good! I want to like this but place so bad, but my recent order will be my last. The food is extremely overpriced for what you get, and their already small menu is often out of stock. They skimp on salsa, and the flavors aren't authentic. Everything either tastes store bought or under seasoned. The birria tastes like brine so I'm assuming they don't cook it long enough to get that sour flavor out of the jackfruit. The mushroom asada just tastes like sautéed mushrooms without much seasoning. For the price, you'd at least expect good sauces, homemade tortillas, or a better tasting mock meats. The wait times have always been long even when I've ordered ahead through their site, and the staff isn't very personable. There's no sense of urgency to get orders out in a timely manner. They seem to have a lot of trouble with their payment system which also adds to the wait times. Unfortunately, all of this makes ordering here not worth it. If you're looking for a better place to eat in Stockton, I suggest going to Comida De Jen or Tonantzin, and if you're in Sacramento, El Cantaro will solidify why you should have higher standards for vegan Mexican food in 2024. read more

This is my first time here and it is SO GOOD! I brought my non-vegan husband to try everything with me. We had two regular tacos, both mild, one asada and one jackfruit and I preferred the flavorful jackfruit but my husband preferred the more "meaty" asada. They were delicious and come just as you'd expect a street taco- two corn tortillas, salsa, cilantro, onion. We also had two crunchy supreme tacos, the difference being the crispy shell and vegan cheese included inside. Pleased to have cheese that was hot and melty. One was hot and one was mild. The hot was my preferred choice. It made my nose run, so you know it's decent! Finally, we had two birria, and while the other tacos are good, this was in another universe of taste. The sauce is to die for!! I don't know how but these birria are even better than regular. HOW. God speaks. You should listen and go get these life-changing eats. Wash it all down with the agua fresca. We had sandia (watermelon), and confirmed it's all only fruit in there. Perfect and refreshing! They also has cucumber lemon, as well as bottled water. The folks in the truck are friendly and quick in service. When you order, they will ask you if you want mild or hot and fix you right up. Pickled jalapeños, lime, and cucumber come on the side of every dish and they aren't stingy with the limes. The truck is in a lot that's fenced in, clean and safe. You can't miss this big pink food truck parked on the side of the Michael Falkis Park. Park along the sidewalk like them or there is a nearby lot for/in the park.. I googled maps my way over and it led me to it just fine.. They've recently went to an all vegan menu and i went to check it out.. Each item came with fresh cucumbers and a full on pickled jalapeño. I tried both red and green salsas and didn't feel like I liked one more than the other.. I've had a few things and they were all good.. My favorite being their ceviche.. it came on a tostada and it was wet through and that's my only qualm about that. Chips on the side or something to avoid having a wet tostada underneath would've been ideal. Liked it, still. I've came here 3 times and 2 out of the 3, they had ran out of some of the protein options. I didn't hesitate to grab whatever they had though. But they'd be smart to always be prepped (specially with those prices) so that they have all the protein options they offer... unless they don't mind having unsatisfied customers ‍ The first time I came, I ordered two mushroom asada tacos. They were pretty delicious.. good enough for my hungry self to devour them. Second time was an asada mushroom burrito. That one was also pretty darn good, only complaint I have is it having way too much rice and hardly any beans or onions.. I get it though, it's hard times and it makes sense to ration what they have I guess.. Third time I came, I wished I woulda made dinner at home. I wanted to like my burrito so badly! It was just so bland and again, way too much rice and not enough of the other stuff. It was dry.. hardly any sauce.. The girl did tell me there wouldn't be any sour cream in it because they had ran out, again a supply problem they gotta fix. But I went with it anyway. If I could help them make a few tweaks to their food items, I'd add some avocado or guac, I'd sautee larger pieces of sweet onions for more flavor and if you're vegan, you GOTTA incorporate more delicious veggies into these items. I'm talking about adding some riced cauliflower, carrot bits, etc. You gotta have variety! Overall, I do believe they're in the right direction. I really wanted to like their food but I was extremely disappointed. I visited when their truck did a pop up in Sacramento. I was with my granddaughter and we ordered 6 birria tacos, 3 mild & 3 spicy. The total came to a little over $27. Tacos came in separate containers but we were only given one consume. I was sharing with a 6 year old so not a big deal. If I was with another adult I would have said something. When we opened the containers the tacos looked nothing like the photos others had posted. I actually thought they forgot to put the jackfruit in the tacos until I opened one up. There was a very small amount of jackfruit probably equivalent to one piece from a can but shredded, about 4 tiny pieces of diced onion & a tiny bit of cilantro. On the side was a single slice of cucumber & a lime wedge. The dip was water thin with a few onions floating in it. I ate the spicy ones. They did have a little heat but the jackfruit still had a strong brine flavor. I did not pick up any of the typical birria flavors in the taco or consume. The 6 year old with me called it colored water which was a pretty accurate description. I have had vegan quesa birria tacos at another pop up by another vendor & they were amazing so I know they can be stuffed, rich & flavorful. Don't know if it was just an off day but I would not recommend. 2 stars are for the service. The person that took my order was very nice. read more
