My husband and I were craving some Mexican food last night and found Las Palmas. We went on a Thursday night, and it was military night so we got our dessert free! Our server was so great and attentive. The vibes were so high and the food made it even better. My husband got a combination plate and I got fish tacos. Ordered the # 3 Mexican Plate, as soon as they delivered it a saw the Chile Relleno was blacken, burned. I looked at the low talker server ( talked like " I hate my job " and could barely hear him ) started to walk away, asked for a tortilla which were hard and tough! So I've only been here once, and perhaps if I try it again I'll update my review. This is a newer place, located in a shopping center ok the east side of El Paso of Zaragoza. It seems to be like a typical chain restaurant as far as Mexican food goes. Not that it's bad or anything, the food I had was perfectly fine, but it just doesn't have that homely, hole-in-the-wall, super authentic feel to it. Like the type of place that you can tell someone's abuela is in the back cooking your food. But again, as far as chain type places go, this one was pretty solid. I mean, 3/5 stars for my one and only visit still ain't too shabby. I had tacos, deshrebrada I believe, but honestly can't remember. Nothing much to write home about. And that's not a knock to this place... but it's just that we live here in El Paso, and Mexican food is not hard to find lol. So it's rather rare and special to find a place that blows you away. Prices were fine. Seating was fine. Location is doable. I'd only even went because this place is very close to the person I was meeting, and they didn't want to travel far. But it was a Tuesday and we wanted tacos, and tacos we had. I'll probably try it again one day when COVID is finished (hopefully). And when I do, I'll update the review. But again, 3/5 ain't bad. What a sad state of affairs. Ambiance and staff experience alone drove us to leave before we even ordered food. We were given one paper menu for our party, and we're not given a drink menu. At the bar, the "bartender" said he needed to talk to the manager when I asked for a drink menu. We declined. When I asked about signature drinks, we were told they have palomas, but the bartender wasn't sure what was in a Paloma "I hear they're good" and he left to get the manager. 10 minutes, not so much as a water. There were maybe 4 parties in total in the restaurant, one staff member at a table looking through receipts who stopped the bartender on his way to find the manager to look at receipts with her. With this, decided to save ourselves an extended headache and left. Can't say I'd recommend anyone visit here. read more

Seafood enchilada The presentation was ok and I ate part of the beans and rice and one "seafood" enchilada. I chose this entree, 1. I love seafood and 2. There were a few rave reviews on this particular dish. After finishing only one enchilada I had an unusual feeling in my stomach, I stopped and boxed the rest. I didn't even making home before it became plant food for some poor tree. Keep in mind I travel around the world and can tolerate many varieties of delicacies but never one this horrendous. Also note, both my husbands,SILs and daughters meals seemed to be ok. I made the mistake and ordered "seafood" in EL PASO. DON'T DO IT or you'll be fining the next tree to feed. Arrived right before noon to a full restaurant. There were large parties and many couples dining in. Fast service and food delivery done by Hunter (Server). Myself and my S.O. must have been extremely hungry because we ordered at noon and was done within 17 mins. Sheeze, talk about fast food... I don't know what their kitchen is like but I liked to think it's similar to a layout where food is already prepared in warmed containers ready to be scooped onto a plate. Thanks for the quick service! We ordered a Chile Colorado and Huevos Rancheros. Both were surprisingly delicious and hot too. Oh I forgot to tell you that I LOVE their salsa. Yummy! First walking in the seat attendant said it would be a 10 minute wait after we established we wanted a booth. Not sure if there operating under Covid guidelines still but was not posted for limited seating. There definetly was seating available to seat us right away. Once we got brought to our table I kindly said why we being seated at a table? I said I wanted a booth she said that's where your server area is, I said what? I wanted a booth. After waiting I was hungry and said okay. The waiter he was awesome and very helpful no issues with him just with the person seating us she apparently can't hear very well or just was being arrogant. The food. The appetizers were great however, for the price it should of been lower because of the quantity of food. The fajita button was lacking a little bit of meat. I opened it up and was like about 5 strips of chicken and this a normal size plate like a 10-12". My wife had fish tacos but they gave her flour then came back with flour again and she clearly asked for corn because she has a gluten allergy. the fish was like flash fried or cook another way how I can tell, I'm from the north been fishing all my life. Fish when it's done it falls apart, this fish was like kinda chewy. I just need when I tasted it wasn't good to go. All and all was like a $67 bill yea food was not priced properly. read more

This might be the first 5 star Mexican restaurant I've experienced. We got off to a great start with crisp, non greasy chips and a powerful, spicy homemade salsa. My #3 combination plate consisted of a beef taco in a corn tortilla-excellent, a tamale-excellent, a cheese enchilada topped with fresh raw onions-excellent, some fresh homemade guacamole-excellent and topped off with an outstanding chile relleno (which few places get right). The service was excellent and the prices were reasonable. This was one of the best Mexican meals I have ever had and Like the Terminator, I'll be back. read more

Tried this place for the first time because it's super close to my house. The hostesses were extremely friendly and attentive. We were seated right away and had our waiter come promptly. While we waited for our order, our waiter brought us a complimentary chile con queso. Though it didn't look that appealing, it was pretty good. I ordered the brisket taco plate ($10) and my husband ordered the chicken tampiquena ($12) with a pepino refresher which was super delish! It wasn't the best Mexican food I've ever had, but it was good. I gave it 5 stars because the service was excellent. The manager came around twice to check on us. They offer great quality lunch and dinner specials for a great price. The entire facility is very clean and always has an amazing smell from the kitchen. They have the best limeade! They also have a really good coconut ice tea. I highly recommend their caldo de rez. My children enjoy their ground beef tacos with a side of rice and beans.
