I am very upset. My underarms are still burnt from my laser treatment over 6 weeks ago! My neck had a burn from the laser!! Horrible! When I asked for a refund, I was told I would not be given a refund. I am very disappointed by this. I paid for laser treatments I will not be able to use because I refuse to go back! Laser hair removal may not be the most glamorous thing to talk about, but I'd be doing a disservice to Laser Care Centers if I didn't sing their praises. With Mediterranean heritage comes some unwanted side effects, and though I would've taken care of the fuzz on my face when i was a kid, laser treatment had not yet proven to be safe for the long-term. 10 years later with safety relatively proven, after viewing the overwhelmingly positive yelp reviews, I thought I'd give this place a shot. Lindsay was very patient with my questions as I asked about certifications, experience, sterilization, side effects, pain, duration, and cost. A licensed esthetician who's been working with laser hair removal for the last 8 years, Lindsay knows her stuff. Ideal candidates have light skin and dark hair, and depending on what area you want zapped you're looking at very different price scales. Consultation is free, and though you can get your first treatment on the spot, I opted to just get a test area done to see if I'd have any adverse affects (I didn't). Though I'm wary of bargain prices for something as sensitive as face lasers, and while the procedure is by no means cheap, I'm still paying a whole lot less than I'd expected I'd need to, and after 3 treatments now the results have been astounding. Each treatment has only taken about 5 minutes, has been no more painful than other forms of hair removal (waxing, bleaching, etc), and my results have lasted for 8 weeks at a time, each time coming back with less, and after 4-7 treatments should be permanently ousted. If you are at all thinking about laser hair removal, this is the place to go. Prices are spendy but reasonable, service is excellent, and results are impressive. I'm pretty sure I've reviewed this place before, but my response disappeared. I highly recommend this place for anyone who doesn't want to spend an arm and a leg for hair removal and get results! They have a great unlimited package for bikini+underarm, which means that it would cost you the same amount if you have to come in 5 or 10 times. The office is very cozy and you get the same person who takes care of you every time you come in. I've been there 4 times already and I can really see the results! Lindsay is great! She takes her time, but doesn't take forever, trying to make your experience quick and as pain free as possible. This is the worst place EVER to do laser. They are extremely unprofessional. I got 14 sessions done (if not more) and I did not benefit AT ALL. I also eventually got burnt and they did not care, all they suggested was me coming in to see them, so pathetic. I honestly would never ever recommend this place to anyone. I've been for laser before, and my experience was WAY different. They numb the areas you want to laser, then once they finish the laser treatment they would give you a cooling gel and maybe some spray, however, here at Laser care they just give you 2 minutes of their time, don't put any numbing cream, burn you, rush your treatment and thats the end. I can't comment on any of the services provided because I just went in for a complimentary consultation, but I had such a negative experience I felt I had to write a review. First upon my arrival, there was no one at the desk. I had a couple of questions I wanted to ask before my appointment and even said "Hello?" a few times and no one answered or appeared. 30 minutes later a technician appeared and handed me a clip board to fill out. About another 10-15min went by and the technician finally came back and brought me into a room for the consultation. She didn't even ASK me my concerns or what I was looking for- or even look at the paper I filled out. She immediately started pitching me their products and explaining how much better they were than department store products. She also didn't even LOOK at my skin- we were sitting far enough apart where you could stick a table between us, and she immediately told me I had acne. I know I have a couple of problem spots- but come on- at least take a look under the light. She started suggesting different services that they provide- telling me which ones to do in a special order- then kept changing her mind. She pushed me to get the package on each one... prices rangining from $300 a package to over $1000 a package. I let her know that I was a little weary to drop a significant amount of cash on services I never had performed on me before, especially since I have extremely sensitive skin. I asked for a quick spot treatment for ANY of the 4 services she suggested and she absolutely refused. She then proceeded to tell me NOT to ever wear sun screen on my face and never use day cream on my nose or cheeks. The only sun screen I was "allowed" to put on my face was around my eyes-- are you kidding me?? She barely listened to a word I said and pretty much told me everything I've been doing for the last 10+ years for skin care is wrong. Lauren is the best! I've been going here for more than half a year and she has been great...extremely personable and really listens to your concerns. Not to mention the difference became visible after only a few treatments. Before coming here I actually visited a number of laser service providers and some were EXTREMELY sketch - no names will be dropped. Always high sales-pitch and high pressure. One "laser technician" on newbury st was wearing a mini, 6 inch heels and 2 inches thick of makeup on her skin and pitched me a rock-bottom low price for the package I wanted. When I decided not to go to them, they left harassing voicemails and even TEXTS to my phone! Laser care was actually a bit more expensive than the other places I visited in Boston, but when it comes to lasers and permanent treatment for skin (or eyes), even I, being the thriftiest person, won't choose based on price. They offer packages here so you don't have to pay per treatment, which is awesome since that can quickly add up. One suggestion is that if you have sensitive skin, be sure to ask for a test spot treatment during your consultation. If you have a negative reaction, they can possibly prescribe medication for you to pre-treat the area with. read more

I hate giving negative reviews, but just wanted to comment so others can make an educated decision on spider vein removal. I received IPL for dark spots here previously and they did do a good job, but I would recommend going to a real vein center for spider vein removal. I had my spider veins looked at here and two people said they would be so easy to get rid of. I trusted them, so I went here to get them done. After longer than 6 weeks, the spider veins look worse and there are dark spots on my leg that didn't exist before. I was also quoted one price, then charged a higher price when I went back in. In fairness, I didn't question the higher charge because I was just happy they said this would be easy. read more

I used to live in Boston. Now I live in upstate New York. I drive 4 hours to see Lauren at Laser Care. She is worth the drive! I will be honest - my skin is a true mess. I have 2 skin conditions: (1) hormonal acne breakouts and (2) pediatric rosacea type II (yes, I am Irish) which do not get along. I have been to 26 dermatologists since I have been 11 years old. I have been put on every medication they could think of (accutane, retin-a, etc) - they all failed. I am almost 33 years old now. When I came to Lauren a few years ago, I was nearly at my wits' end. Instead of "writing me a fast prescription" that never worked - like all of those doctors - Laure was patient, listened and said - "we will do whatever works." Lauren has helped me get my confidence back by using the following - 1. I have used their Acne laser (Affirm) to spot treat my hormonal acne - the bumps go away within 2 days 2. I have used very gentle glycolic acid peels and the IPL laser to reduce my rosacea bumps and scarring 3. The Fractyl laser to reduce redness - again for my rosacea prone skin. 4. Light botox to prevent smile lines All treatments work and their equipment is state of the art. I cannot recommend Lauren at Laser Care highly enough! Price Comparison - I live in Syracuse NY. The price of the Fractyl laser (the only one they had) was $600 a time. My botox = $450. Comparison - Brookline Laser Care botox = $350. Laser Care is worth every penny! read more

There was nothing wrong with the treatment, I'm sure, it was my first time with them. I was very comfortable while being treated and they were very accommodating.. But they should of told me to shave before I got treatment even if it meant not been able to get treated that day as Okay I have had the same type of laser removal before and with it I always shaved before going in however going to a new place I wanted them to see what my hair was like during the consultation so I didn't. The technician said I could get treated that day which was great.... until an hour after my legs were quite hot and stinging (never happened me before, the redness was always gone within 30 min to 1 hour). When I looked at them I discovered it was not the laser at all but the razor that was used. My entire lower legs were left with horrific, not to mention painful, razor burn to the extent they looked burned and inflamed. I am very upset over this.mit lasted 2 days. So ultimately... there treatment was great, comfortable atmosphere, pricing is comparable but more realistic view of charging. Bring your own razor do not let them use the cheap nasty disposables on you or better shave before you go in (which they should request even if it means not getting treated the same day!!!!) I will be returning for another treatment. read more

I went for probably about 10 laser treatments, I had a bad feeling about it after a few sessions but I was not sure what to expect from this kind of treatment. Laser treatment did not work very well for me but I got the impression they were going to just get me to keep coming back as long as they could. The most recent time I asked about this, they said they would turn up the laser. And I thought, "why didn't they ever do that any of the times before?" After a laser treatment my skin did not feel smooth and they told me that was normal, but now, after an electrolysis treatment at Image Care, I doubt that. These were above the reasons that lead me to believe LaserCare only wanted to take my money even if I was not satisfied with the results. read more

I highly recommend the Laser Care center in Brookline. I am especially happy with all of my interactions with Lindsay. Unlike other centers, I didn't feel lots of pressure when I walked in the door. She was really laid back, knowledgeable, and genuine. Also different from other places I have been before, I see her each time and she was not irritated with me being scared of being very sensitive to the pain. She made the experience so much easier and I cannot imagine trusting anyone else. I have only had one treatment so far, so I can't say much about the effectiveness. But I do see a difference already. The best part is that their packages are unlimited, so if you need to go lower on the laser because you are sensitive, it won't end up costing you more in the long run. read more

First let me start of saying, i dont normally write reviews, but i just have to comment on the laser care center, I have been going there for about 3 years now, and i have to honestly say they have changed my life. I know its a bit dramatic, but i had a lot of sun damage and wrinkles on my face even though i was only 43. Lauren and her mom have been giving me laser treatments and injections for the damage. Wow i started to see results right away. I have more confidence and just feel so much better about myself. They also make you feel right at home in their 2 offices. They never ever try to upsell you, almost the opposite, they will honestly tell you what you need and dont need done. They are very skilled and trained in everything they offer. I would highly recommend LaserCare for anyone thats interested in an honest business and not getiing ripped off from a number of other places in the Boston area.
