First time ever trying Cuban coffee and it was the best ever! Service was great! Highly recommend

The first thing I have to say about this establishment is that there was a large size dog inside the restaurant where the food was being cooked. It was a rainy day and we expected to be able to eat inside, but when we arrived, there was a sign in in front of the door, saying to order by the window and only outdoor seating was available on the patio Upon looking inside, we saw that there was a dog, and I assumed that was why they were not allowing customers to eat inside the restaurant, but then upon thinking about it there shouldn't be a dog inside a restaurant serving food Overall, the food flavor and they didn't have a lot of items available that were on their menu. in my opinion, I think it's because they didn't want some of the items that took a little bit longer time to make because they were only two people working inside person taking orders and one person preparing the food read more

Not Cool. Menu shows wrong pricing!! Sandwich say $7 but cost $9 plus Tax. Not to mention If you pay with card/Apple Pay, it's even more. I asked for bathroom they said they do not have.... Usually the little hole in the walls are good, but this is an epic failure in a multitude of ways: they advertise specials they don't have and won't honor, the food is bad (rice was bland, tostones have no flavor, the onions on the palomila had way too much vinegar added, and the palomila was overcooked and tough). TLDR: Unbelievably unprofessional, complete with a side of false advertising. I would give it a 0/5 if I could, but Yelp only allows a 1. You've probably seen this review before, because I hated my experience so much that I posted this on Google too. If you haven't, then get ready for a doozy, because this place sucks. THE FULL STORY: I went here with my wife and wanted to try it out, as the prices seemed extremely reasonable. However, upon arriving, the restaurant's inside was closed, so we were asked to eat outside. I understood, but it was very hot, so it felt uncomfortable. Then comes the main event. The menus prices are blacked out, so you only see the dishes that you can order. I was troubled by this, but my wife remained optimistic. This venue asks you to pay BEFORE you eat. Now you think that wouldn't be a problem, considering there's a huge $5.95 Lunch sign on the window. It's 2PM, so I hand my wife the card. The bill comes out to $30. Where I normally like to eat, I spend $50 easily, but when you tell me a price and charge me different, THAT'S unprofessional. I asked why was this the case and they tell me that Lunch is over. There's no specified time on the window for their Lunch hours, so this was extremely misleading. Plus, it's 2PM. No one eats dinner at 2PM. At this point, I'm furious. I understood that some kitchen items were unavailable, that's life. The fact that I'm having to sit outside in the heat AND pay a price that wasn't advertised (because, remember, blacked out menu prices) didn't sit well with me, so I requested a refund. I had only been there at the establishment five minutes, surely that wouldn't be a problem. NOPE. They declined my refund, stating that I had time to decide. It had been five minutes from the time of my arrival and two minutes from the time of the order. The person taking the order was extremely rude and said that cancelling isn't something they could do for us. Lass, Miami Garden's Cuban cafe is definitely evolving. They've changed the appearance of the place since opening. And they have added delivery services in their new Lass Mobile. The food is tasty and I love that they know what I like go order. My only problem with them is they are extremely slow. I'm usually running when I go to Lass. And having to stand and wait cuts into my time. I really would prefer to come here, but because they are slow, it really makes DD across the street far more appealing. Lass if I could give some advice or suggest a recommendation, I would strongly suggest hiring another person for the morning rush so that you could get folks in and out quicker. Love this place. It can get busy but there are ways to beat the traffic. This place has hands down the absolute best buttery soft & warm pastellitos. They also make a great pan con tortilla sandwhich. If you don't know what it is, it's a toasted scrambled egg sandwhich with ham, Swiss cheese, and chips. Delicious! I first discovered this restaurant 9 days ago and had their $5 breakfast before going on a job interview. I had a wonderful experience this morning and everyone seemed to be well. I had their Sausage and Eggs with Toast with a side of Coffee and Milk. To say the least, it was a good experience and left me with the impression that if I got the job, I'd definitely be frequenting it more. I ended up receiving the job and the next morning I came in for a Guava and Cheese pastry with the Coffee and Milk. It was then that I started to realize that the cup of coffee that costs $1.69 was a 4 oz water cup, and that it definitely was not worth the price (the coffee isn't to any superb standards, it's simply good). Nontheless, this was a good experience even though I really felt like I over-paid for something so simple. I hadn't eaten there since that morning, until today. I ordered their Pork and Rice and was told that I could only get one side, a choice between Fried Yuka (that i got to sample.. and it was cold) and then the fried Plantain. Being a lover of both, but moreso fried plantains, I went with it (especially since the Yuka was actually cold). I ended up being $8 for literally 3 spoons of rice and beans, 3 pieces of pork, and 3 pieces of plantain. No sauce, no gravy, and the rice was greasy. Their reason for not allowing me to choose between the other sides (red beans, black beans, and a tamale) was because the Rice and Pork already had beans in it. But these were lima beans with greasy rice. I immediately began to regret my choice in lunch, but I didn't want to come off as cheap or a pain in the butt, so I dined in anyway. The lunch was a bit ironic. While the rice and beans were greasy (and not in a saucy way), the pork was clearly over-cooked, and dry. It also tasted very fresh on the inside, as if only the outside had been seasoned and it was clear it never marinated. I ended up throwing away most of it because even with water everything was so dry that it was difficult to enjoy it, much less eat it. Needless to say, with working closeby, I was interested in their $30/week catering option, but after today's experience, I highly doubt I'll ever return to this restaurant or even recommend it, though the breakfast i had was a good experience. read more
