So 1 bike out. The issue is with the other bike. He got it up into what seemed like a prime condition, I rode it once when he fixed it, it looked good. So I hung it up at the garage and didn't ride it for a couple of weeks. Then I noticed that the front tire was flat again. I tried to put air in the tire on my own, tried 2 different pumps but it seems the valve was losing air while the pump was pumping. He said it seems my pump is messing up the valve. I should get a new pump and then replace the tube. I mentioned I never rode the bike after the tuneup and this is the first time I tried to put air in the new tires. How can it be that I need to replace the tube that he had just replaced during the tune up. I even asked for a quote, he simply ignored me. It's definitely good value for money but either there's a character issue or he's terribly busy. Either case, my bike issues re-emerged 2-3 weeks after the tuneup with literally 0 rides, hence the score.

It took me a month just to learn to ride...I never learned. Occasionally, I put some oil on my bike if it seems to be shifting weird. And I do check my tire pressure regularly. Aside from that, I've never had an adult check it out. I decided that it was probably time to have a tuneup and have a thorough safety check. I did call the bike shop down the street, but they are no longer taking appointments, and I was not about to go wait in line as they had suggested. I happened to find Velofix online and was able to get an appointment in about a week. Matt was my bike guy (what is the technical term....Bichanic?) Anyhow, he was on time and completed a tire-to-tire evaluation. He even installed my cushy new saddle so I'll be more comfortable during rides. He cleaned my bike, which brought a little tear to my eye. It looked better than the day I bought it. Plus, my brakes no longer sound like air horns. Much appreciated! Incredibly convenient service and I will definitely be better about caring for my bike. I know it's illegal to hi-five during quarantine times, but I would've given him two hi-fives if it were allowed.

I used to pay around $24, and I've always come here without thinking twice--my husband introduced me to this place, so it was my go-to spot. Well... this was my last time here. To be clear--everyone is kind and super helpful. They always greet you with a smile, and if you have to wait, there are huge, comfy loveseats to relax in. Honestly, their service is fast. Last time, I walked in, got help immediately, and was done in less than 10 minutes. The tech even showed me exactly what punctured the tube before wrapping up. Less than 15 minutes, and I was out the door. So when he told me $34, I tried to justify it--maybe the tube itself costs more now? But when I got in my car and actually checked my receipt, the tube was only $1 more than my old one. What really cost more? $20 for installation. Wow. That's just too much, I'm sorry. He's very thorough and explaining what would best work for me and suit me specifically while being very inviting into the sport. I would highly recommend anybody come out here and talk to Matthew as he's extremely knowledgeable and really knows what he's doing when it comes to cycling. I didn't expect to be met with such positivity, especially in a place where I would be worried about sales being pushed down my throat and met with the complete opposite. The last homeowner had a cheap toilet installed, which created more problems than expected. Jake was fantastic throughout the entire process. He took the time to explain my options, answered all of my questions, and made sure I understood what I was paying for rather than just pushing me toward the most expensive solution. What really impressed me was that Jake worked the cost of the work they had already completed into the replacement toilet, which saved me a significant amount of money. The pricing was very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the service and the unexpected issue we ran into. Sadly, the owner of Nick's passed away and this company is now owned by Dunrite. I called that company based on the reviews of Nick's Air Services, but their services has definitely NOT been the same as mentioned on this profile. In summary, this company is expensive, can make improper recommendations, and the office is very difficult to get anyone to call you back. I absolutely would not use them again in the future and - had I read their Yelp profile for Dunrite Heating & Cooling - would never have called them in the first place. My experience: My air conditioning due to leaked refrigerant due to another HVAC technician not correct. Nick's/Dunrite came out during the same day and quickly identified the problem. There was a leak on the schrader valve. They got us back to running - for nearly $200/per pound of refrigerant. 5 lbs = about $1,000. Wow, but we had no choice as my original installer was not available. Our unit has not been keeping up with the 90s for the past two months and the technician recommended 3 different options. I chose 2 of the 3 options: a larger return air duct AND repairing the plenum. I was anxious to get the work scheduled and it took me hounding them to get them to schedule the work. Communicating with this office was very painful. I would never get calls back and would just get a text message indicating when they had scheduled the appointment. Their front desk support was exceedingly helpful but not empowered to do anything besides schedule appointments and pass along info. I finally had the appointment and the technician went to the wrong address. I got a call from them saying they had been at my house and then they proceeded to the next job. I spoke to them and learned they were at the wrong house, but could not turn around to go back to my house. I had to wait until the following week to get the appointment rescheduled. What a disaster. It got worse. The work was finally done - the return air duct and the plenum. I waited a couple of days, but there was NO change in the air conditioning. I called them back again and they scheduled another technician to come out. The second technician came out, a more senior technician, who confirmed that the unit was undersized and "working as it was designed" to cool at 75-76. I don't know a single person who is comfortable with 75-76 in the house when the outside is in the 90s. I called customer service again. When I finally got someone, I got a call from William, who is their most senior technician (an older guys in his late-50s probably). He came out with the original technical and instructed him how to properly do a heat load calculation. They determined indeed the unit is undersized and I needed a 3 ton. I called back the customer service asking for a refund to the work. I've called at least 3-4 times, each time speaking with a very nice person. However, I've still not been called back. What a disaster. I've finally had to resort to filing a complaint with my credit card and disputing it through them. It's unfortunate and I didn't want to have to do this, but - when no one will call you back - it's very very hard to trust this company to make things right.

Latini's did a Pro Build on my new Open MIN.D road bike and they exceeded my high expectations. Open sells only their frames and thru not many dealers. I contacted four dealers and chose Johnny Ervin because the others didn't come close to his depth of expertise and quality of customer service. The Open bike was an upgrade for me and every component was personally chosen. Johnny listened to how I wanted ride then guided me to the parts that'd work best together. His assembly was an impeccable fit and finished exactly as we discussed. Johnny is sage-like in his understanding of bikes and cycling. Terrible customer service. I put a bicycle in for a tuneup and it required some new parts as well…read more I received a phone call and a text stating the bike was ready. So I went to pick the bike up, was told it was good to go, paid the $500 + bill, and only after I paid did they tell me the bike was unsafe to ride. They waited until after I paid to let me know my bike is unsafe to ride. There was a pre existing crack in the frame that I was not aware of. It is very seedy to knowingly let a customer pay for something they know to be unsafe. I tried to see if we could work out a deal to where I paid for the parts put onto the bike, or for any kind of resolution, knowing they did work on the bike. But, I was told it was not their problem. Per the owner's response: "The crack was found after the work was completed." Let that sink in. I paid for a "New Bike Feel" tune up package and the first thing of that service is (per Cadence's Website) a "Full bicycle strip down & overhaul of the frame (includes bottom bracket, hubs, & headset)." The location of the large crack was down on the bottom bracket. The second the front chain ring was pulled to service the frame and bottom bracket, the mechanic could clearly see the gouge and crack, work should have ceased on an unsafe frame, and I as the owner of the frame should have been notified in order to either approve any continued work, or to tell them not to waste their time servicing an unsafe bike I can no longer ride. However, we are being told the crack was found AFTER the work was completed. This tells me that one of three things has occurred: 1) At best the mechanic is inept and missed a clear safety concern while he was working on the bike (what else has been missed while servicing the community's bicycles?) 2) That they did not deliver on their promise to service the frame and bottom bracket and that is why the crack was missed until after the other parts were installed on the bike. Either way, they happily and greedily took my money. 3) This was an intentional act and they weaponized ignorance for a money grab by a seedy and greedy shop owner. Anytime I have dropped something off at a mechanic, whether it be a bicycle, my car, or even my lawnmower, the second a safety concern was found, I was notified of the matter for it to be addressed. I've even been told by mechanics that they will not work on my truck because it is too old, too worn out, and flat out too unsafe. I can respect that because it was honest and the shop was not going to let me waste my money. I paid for the work done because it was right and moved onto a new vehicle. However, here we have a shop that will either miss something completely and claim ignorance. Or, we have a shop that willfully and intentionally wastes your money knowing that they are working on an unsafe product you should not use. The shop claimed they called me (which is technically true), but I have a text stating the bike is ready for pickup and voicemail stating the same thing. Even when I was standing at the cash register, chatting with the sales associate, money in hand, I was not made aware of the issue. At no time was I made aware of the safety concerns until AFTER they wasted and took my money. One way or another, Cadence made a mistake and refused to own up to that mistake. This shop seems to only care about an issue AFTER they waste your hard earned money. Since they were an authorized Aventon dealer, I was able to test-ride a few different models. I also noticed they serviced any brand analog bike. There were a few folks bringing in their Specialized bikes for repairs or tune-ups, which is a testament to the quality of their technicians. The team patiently addressed all my questions without any pressure. Having visited numerous bike shops in the area, I can confidently say that none left me with the same positive experience.
