I asked for a tuneup for 2 bikes. To his credit, he could have patched both bikes and taken the money but for 1 bike that was the affordable type, he described the pros and cons, made hiis case and it wasn't worth it indeed. So 1 bike out. The issue is with the other bike. He got it up into what seemed like a prime condition, I rode it once when he fixed it, it looked good. So I hung it up at the garage and didn't ride it for a couple of weeks. Then I noticed that the front tire was flat again. I tried to put air in the tire on my own, tried 2 different pumps but it seems the valve was losing air while the pump was pumping. He said it seems my pump is messing up the valve. I should get a new pump and then replace the tube. I mentioned I never rode the bike after the tuneup and this is the first time I tried to put air in the new tires. How can it be that I need to replace the tube that he had just replaced during the tune up. I even asked for a quote, he simply ignored me. It's definitely good value for money but either there's a character issue or he's terribly busy. Either case, my bike issues re-emerged 2-3 weeks after the tuneup with literally 0 rides, hence the score. read more

He explained everything to me up front via text, confirmed date and time, reconfirmed it the day before, and texted the morning of when he was on his way. We recently ordered 2 electric bikes which we had shipped to our office in Richardson. Used Chip for a tune up on a trek 7.5 and some fine tuning on a specialized roubaix that wasn't shifting cleanly. My bike was in dire need of some bottom bracket servicing (where your pedal arms attach to the bike), trying to spin my pedals backwards was like they were stuck in mud. I wish Yelp would change the scoring so I could give this guy 0 (zero) stars. I had a flat tire on less than week old brand new bike. He charges $40 minimum. I told him the bike was brand new & didnt need a $40 tune up but could he just fix the tire. He had the audacity to say he could do a basic tuneup ($40) along with the tube ($10 labor, 7-8 for the tube). Almost $60! He was so manipulative & obnoxious and said: "other than agree on a day and time... Otherwise... pack your bike up in the car, head over to RBM or Sun n Ski, wait in line for however long their repair cue is... get the repair done, then load it back in the car... see my value? I'm actually booked out about 2 weeks - I'm "Mr Popularity" since the Covid thing started."
