Stopped in here on my way back from a run. When I arrived there was only one person in front of me in line who appeared to have just finished ordering...There were 3 people behind the counter, all of which were huddled around the sandwich making / prep area struggling with what seemed to be a hummus dilemma (I think it was misplaced.) It was 5+ mins before I ordered my matcha latte which I firmly believe was condensed milk mixed with a combo of peppermint/coffee grinds (it was brown, matcha is typically green, and it didn't taste a hint like green tea). Cute laid back place with an AMAZING turkey pesto garlic sandwich. I usually grab breakfast here, so I was not expecting their lunch menu to be worth while, but it is. For breakfast their "everything" bagel with cream cheese is my fav. Coffee is self serve and they have a pretty nice selection. Very good chai lattes. My only complaint, which is not even worth losing a star, would be the blueberry muffin. Bland and dry. Stay away from the BB muffin, but go for just about ANYTHING else. :) read more

Just a couple of blocks away from the craziness of haight street you can get a great cup of coffee and sit at their outdoor tables watching the world go by (muni buses and all). I only had coffee here the other day, but I was surprised at how inexpensive it was. I ordered three drinks and it only cost six bucks and change. One of the employees seemed a little disgruntled, complaining that "everything's a crisis, a freaking crisis..." it's right at the google shuttle bus stop. you'll be a bunch of googlers waiting for their fancy shuttles, which shuttle them down to mountain view. so they are in a good spot. i had a coffee, a smoothie, and a bagel here on separate occasions. the coffee was good, but the smoothie and the bagel were pretty bad. i didn't finish them. the smoothie was way too sweet, and the bagel wasn't properly toasted and the texture was mealy. the lady who i assumed owns and runs this coffee shop was very nice. she seemed surprised i ordered a decaf at nine in the morning. read more

Omggggg this place is so good! I got the tofu sandwich. She makes the tofu herself. Vegan galore. It's also a short walk from the N muni stop, cole + Stanyan. Very friendly people here. I only come here for the sandwiches and I always get the Zesty Turkey Italian, which is great. The owner is always trying to get me to try another sandwhich, but you know how it is when you want something specific so I always get the same sandwich.... but its a damn good sandwich. They have some pretty good pastries and treats as well, but I try my best to stay away from those. read more

I just went here after a jog over at Kezar Stadium and really, REALLY enjoyed their Ginger Chai. I tried it blended and it was the perfect refreshing treat post workout. I had never been here prior to a couple days ago and now I can't picture going anywhere else for a late brunch! I had the Irish Cream Ice Coffee and the wrap with egg & avocado. Although I HIGHLY recommend the Irish coffee, I would NOT recommend the wrap which was delicious but sadly was too moist and it soaked through the wax paper, napkins, and on my pants. I visited here twice while staying in the area. I did not encounter any rude people and the service was decent. The person I was with had very good food and he wanted to go back the next day. I had a white mocca, which was really good. I saw people dining in and they seemed content. A man brought in his baby even, and that seemed to go okay. I wasn't aware it was cash only, as I planned to pay with cash and did; HOWEVER, I frequently do pay with a card, so that would be a minus if I was cashless. I wouldn't hit an ATM for sure. The owner is incredibly sweet. We were the only people in there and she would check-in occasionally to see if we were doing fine. Cash only is a little bit of a pain. I came here with a friend to find a spot to study. It was a cute place and the lady working the register was very kind. My friend got a smoothie and she loved it. Note that if you want to study here, there are no outlets, but they do have wifi. I would come here again to study due to the quiet atmosphere. read more
