Wonderful coffee spot in the Inner Richmond. I always have this sense of panic when I can't see the ice in my cold brew. Did I get served a cold brew with no ice? Is this a hot coffee thrown into a clear plastic cup. Nerves aside, their cold brew comes with frozen coffee ice cubes (what geniuses are working in the disguised as baristas). Their coffee always carries a nice buzz, and I love stopping in when I'm working from home for a break and an extra strong caffeine kick! read more

I had a wonderful lunch at Richfield on the corner of California Street and 5th Avenue. The sandwich was excellent--fresh, flavorful, and made with quality ingredients. The service was friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, and today, with the sunshine outside, it was the perfect spot for lunch or a leisurely "breggie" (breakfast + lunch). I've walked, run, and taken Muni by the Richfield so many times--but never stopped in. They'd be closed in the afternoon or evening when I went by, but the shape of the building...of course my interest was piqued! One morning, I decided to venture farther away than usual for my morning coffee and a snack. I hopped on the trusty 1 bus and after a few minutes, was there ordering a Spicy Hawaiian ginger chai ($5.25) and spam musubi (with egg and avocado.) Drink was delicious, warm, and good for the soul--not overly sweet. The musubi was put together well and I liked the avocado! It's not easy to find spam musubi sometimes. While I was waiting in line to order and also for my order, I overheard some regulars talking (and that's how I know they were regulars.) Service was wonderful and personable. My husband and I stopped by before heading to the farmers market on a Sunday morning. I didn't pay attention when I initially looked this place up online and didn't realize that: 1) they no longer offer indoor seating; and 2) there are no actual cups to enjoy drinks on site. No indoor seating meant that I was a bit cold when drinking my coffee, and no actual cups meant I was sad that I didn't bring my reusable mug. In spite of that, the drinks were decent! My husband got the vanilla latte (seasonal) and I got the Apollo. We both really liked the vanilla latte and would get it again if it's available and we are in the area. Here's a delightful corner cafe serving the locals. Takeout only, one park bench outside, alas, occupied. No matter, too cold this morning, ate in my car. 9:30am on a Saturday I drove past several purveyors of avocado toast. Alas, every place I passed had a long line. Smaller line here & it shortened rapidly. Orders appear at the window around the corner. Help yourself to napkins, etc. I ordered tea and avocado toast with fried egg on top. I asked for the bread to be toasted. It was not. (Why call it toast?). The yummy bread comes from a bakery in Pacifica. I asked that the egg not be too runny. The top had runny, clear, obviously uncooked egg white. I let it slide off & ate the cooked part. Avocado mash generous, creamy goodness, sprinkled with seeds & chili flakes. More chili please. I'm giving them a pass on my order, as the super friendly staff was clearly slammed. The Richfield deserves another visit on a weekday. I'm sure the results will be much better. This is a place you can roll up to with your dog, counted 5 on my visit. Parking difficult, most people walked here from their nearby homes and appeared to know each other. In closing, worth a visit. After some food coma from lunch, we needed a good coffee fix. The Richfield popped up in our search with promising reviews and it was closeby so we gave it a go! Coming from Clement, it's around the corner and initially hard to spot but with a take out window and some merch hanging outside, we spotted it. There were a few tables outside for you to sit while ordering it done by a takeout window. The coffee really hit the spot with a good balance of coffee to milk to sweetness. I absolutely loved the spot where this cafe is located! It's on a tiny intermittent junction between two busy streets and the appeal is soooo good! They serve Proyecto coffee which in my opinion wasn't dark enough (and mind me I have given it multiple tries at other places too). In addition to coffee, they have a few pastries and musubi on their menu. Although not for the coffee, but I will certainly go back just to sink in the vibe of the location :) read more

I love when I accidentally stumble across a good coffee! We were on our way to Green Apple Books and the Clement Street Farmers Market down the block when I saw a bunch of people waiting on the corner of this little shop. It's just an window/counter that you order at, with no indoors. There is a bench to wait for your drinks. They use Snowbird Coffee and I enjoyed my cappuccino and my husband enjoyed his Ethiopia pourover. We didn't try anything else, but they have some pastries, along with musubis which seemed random! Service was fine and the drinks were pretty fast. Will be back when we return for the farmer's market! read more

Bagel is decent, maybe a 6.5 out of 10, but by god they make the worst iced matcha latte I've ever drank in my life. It is soooo watery, and I ordered mine with whole milk! I even had to ask the barista to add more milk to which she tried to push back saying that this was the max they could give for a 12 ounce drink. I explained that it was watery and she went ahead and added more whole milk. I tried it again and somehow it's still so bad. I then let my partner try it without any context or prompting and his immediate response was "that's completely awful." Big yikes, do NOT order a matcha latte from here. read more

I used to be a big fan of this place, and would send my friends here all the time, but my most recent interactions have been super disappointing. The coffee drinks have become super watery and bitter. just. not. good. I gave my feedback to one of the employees, and she said that it could've have been watery because sometimes the espresso machine misbehaves. And the bitterness might be because they switched coffee brands. She didn't offer to remake it, or to try to rectify the situation in any way. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars and not 1 is because of the years of great coffee I've had here before. Please, please return to your previous level of quality! Not a large menu but such quaint neighborhood coffee shop with quick yummy bites. Love that they had spam musubi for sale. We all got the Brekkie sandwich but with different bread options. I got the Hawaiian bread, my husband got the Texas Toast, my daughter and her bf got the Laundrymat Everything bagel. Apparently the Laundrymat bagels are very good. We all enjoyed the sandwich and it was plenty for those of us with average appetites. I really enjoyed their hot sauce and wish I had gotten the Kim Chi on mine too! The hojicha lattes are very good. So happy to finally make it here to support small business owners who are also raising young kids in the City. If you wanna support local, this is definitely the spot. Make them part of your wolf pack as they are mine. Standout hit was the banana bread!!! Holy $hit! I was fighting with my own kids over it because there was only one left! We will have to order an entire loaf, which apparently you can do! Pre orders only for the full loaves. You can pre order the loaves in person or find them on Instagram. The location is great for those living in the Richmond who want get a quality beverage, and maybe something to eat as they start their day. This midday I had an Oat Milk Coffee that was so pretty, though my mind was more on getting a lid on the cup to prevent spillage then an Instagram moment :) For something to Eat I had, a really Large Bran Muffin, plus a Yummy Pretzel. The Muffin was moist, and deeply satisfying, I prefer when a muffin is not cloyingly sweet. As for the Pretzel it just needed a 30 second burst in the microwave to come alive and was perfect with a cup of tea. Came and tried the Brevano and wow was it good. It's small (6 oz) but mighty. I really liked the floral afternotes from the addition of wildflower honey. As for the drink itself, it was made well with a velvety foam top. On a particularly nippy morning, it was also nice to hug this cup between my hands as I continued my way through inner Richmond. read more

Low-Key but amazing local neighborhood Coffee spot. Like a miniturized Flat-iron building, it occupies a tiny concrete island in the middle far away from the normal hustle and bustle of Inner Richmond. We come here whenever the line at Ariscault makes us sad and we want an early morning pastry and coffee fix. The wait is never too long though parking can be pretty hard to find. Richfield is named after the Coliseum where boxing underdog Chuck Wepner knocked Ali down, it was the fight that inspired Rocky and it's the reason why there are boxing decorations on the interior. The coffee and food meets the very high bar for San Francisco quality. The cappuccino was amazing with perfectly frothed milk and wonderful poured coffee, I'm sure hidden in all the foam is a delicious crema layer. "Brekkie Sandwich": folded omelette, melted Cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, special house sauce, on King's Hawai'ian toast. Delicious, shared this with my wife. Came here for breakfast on 8/2 and was really excited to see they carried laundromat bagels. We got a bagel, breakfast sandwich, smoothie and latte. When I went to eat my bagel, I noticed there was hardly any cream cheese on it. I politely asked the woman working if I could have an extra side of cream cheese since there wasn't much on the bagel (see photo) and she told me that's just what the serving size was and I'd have to pay for an extra side. I totally understand that food costs are high- my husband runs a bar- but it felt really unnecessary for me to have to pull out my card to pay 25 cents for Philadelphia brand cream cheese after we'd just spent $35 and tipped 20%. It was a weird interaction that soured my first experience there so I'm not sure we will go back. Bummer. read more

We needed coffee and this was the closest spot . We found parking on the street. It's a little coffee spot you walk up to one window and order. They didn't have any flavor like vanilla and hazelnut. So we just got plain lattes. I ordered a small and a large. Was charged and given two large. It took a while to get my coffee. You can get sugar packets on the side on a little table. Always have love their coffee, but never liked their hours(especially the inconsistency). I'm sure a lot of that had to do with reopening woes, but now that they are saying that they'll be open until 3 every day I'll definitely start coming here more. They have solid, but limited food options. Enough to satisfy when you are trying to get food and coffee in a twofer stop. The star is really the coffee. I'm obsessed with the coffee shop. Not only is it good coffee, but they serve as a great neighborhood Pilar of community. Everyone is so friendly and it does seem like the "neighborhood coffee shop." Each time the employees are chatting with customers like friends. It's right around the corner from my yoga studio, Folk, and I stop by after each class.
