Lavender & Honey quickly became my favorite coffee shop in Pasadena, and I would go on to try every drink on their normal menu, as well as return quite a few times to try to get through their seasonal options. So starting with that, they have some set menu items, as well as a seasonal menu that changes...seasonally. Their seasonal drink options are on the more unique side, and I haven't loved all of them, but I give them an A for creativity. I've tried every type of toast they offer, and a handful of different jams. I bought a "Hello from Pasadena" mug that I cherish even more now that I don't live there. They even sell 123 Farms products here, like cooking lavender and honey, which I thought was really awesome because I had just discovered the farm a year or two before and tried to support them as much as I could before the pandemic. This place has a cool ~vibe~, and lots of fresh, tasty items to try. You might want to take your stuff to go, though, and walk there if you can. Like, come on team, what are we doing back there, almost laughably, slow. I came here specifically looking for entertaining reviews about the lack of speed. Totally understand when it's busy, no question. When I see the line out the door it's game over. But I've experienced semi-regularly extremely slow service when they are not busy. I'll roll with it for now, I just know I need to be prepared to wait and can never come here in any sort of hurry. But, management should be aware that something funky is brewing. There's a love-hate (that's a strong word, "dislike" maybe?) relationship for me about this place. I've come here a handful of times and I've tried a variety of items, but I'm just never "wow'ed". But I keep coming back, hoping for a new experience, like an unhealthy relationship, investing too much time and energy (and money) into it. I also just don't taste the lavender in any of the items. Maybe my palate is too weak? I think my favorite was the French Lavender Breve, but it was just an expected drink after paying $6+ for it. The lavender & honey parfait ($7) was just ok. It was very simple, just some layers of granola, yogurt and slices of strawberry, which I honestly could've easily made at home. The shop interior was cute, with overly expensive jams, honey and matcha teas ($25). Seating is very limited, with only one large table for groups. There's 3 other smaller, circular tables that only holds your drink and a small book. There's some seating outside, which was too hot for a summer day. No power outlets anywhere, so not an ideal place for me to work. I think I finally need to break up with this place. We've had some "ok" runs, none too memorable, but no regrets that it happened. read more

I popped in for lunch and ordered their Parisian sandwich (ham and cheese), French Lavender Breve and an orange cranberry scone. Everything came out quickly and was delicious. The Parisian sandwich was generously sized and stuffed full of shaved ham along with a tasty Swiss cheese, served on a rustic baguette. I would've preferred it toasted as the bread was quite chewy, but overall a simple, tasty sandwich. Loved the French Lavender Breve, which came with half-and-half instead of milk. Sweet and creamy, the lavender flavor came through subtly and smoothly. And finally, if you happen to see the orange cranberry scone, get it! Lucky me had managed to snag the last one and it was just ridiculously good. Service and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The place can get crowded during the weekends, but generally it's so calming on the weekdays. Pro-tip: get a jar of honey from them. On a scale of milky to bitter, I would say it was a bit more milky and the beans were not overpowering. Although I prefer a more bitter cappuccino, I appreciated this one for what it was without a doubt. Also, the staff is extremely welcoming, always there to answer questions if needed and it really seems like they enjoy working in this establishment. The shop is quite small, but with a cozy ambiance to sit and read a book. However, they do not have WiFi, which I don't mind. I think they do this to encapsulate the essence of what a coffee shop is: to get away from technology and focus on the people around you or the book you are reading, which we need more of nowadays. #8 in my new Yelp adventure- the coffeeshop chronicles! I've been eyeing Lavendar & Honey for quite a while now, but I wasn't able to actually check it out until recently. I stopped by on a weekday afternoon expecting it to be less crowded at that time, but boy was I wrong- the place was absolutely packed, with a line out the door. Just goes to show how popular this place is. Somehow I managed to grab one of the tables in the tiny storefront after ordering, so I would say I was pretty lucky that day. Anyways, I ordered the iced lavender breve, cinnamon honey latte, and the lavender & honey toast. The drinks were okay but pretty pricey. What I really loved though was the L&H toast, which was toasted artisanal bread with goat cheese, honey, and lavender. Honestly I wouldn't go back just for the drinks - I didn't particularly love them and I wouldn't say they're worth wading through another line and crowd - especially when there are so many cute coffee shops in the area with just as unique lattes and beverage selections. The toast was really good though, so I might consider a return trip. We'll see. read more

I only got to try two items so far but they were both good. I ordered off the summer menu and got Tropical Matcha Tonic and Spicy Matcha-Rita. Tropical Matcha Tonic was refreshing with just the right amount of sweetness coming from pineapple syrup. Spicy Matcha-Rita was good too but not all that spicy. I had tried one of their summer specials, which was a frozen dragon fruit lavender lemonade. Very refreshing. Make sure you get up early to catch the fabulous amazing goods that's big box companies no longer make. My favorite is their green tea baked goods that I miss more often than not. I'm not a coffee fan but I made the stop here once because I needed to use the restroom and saw it as I drove by and pulled into the parking lot. They let me use the restroom and partly out of guilt I decided to order an iced tea or something, usually I get whatever afterthought they have tea wise on ice. Lavender & Honey doesn't treat non-coffee drinkers like second class citizens and they have a wide variety of non-coffee drinks and in keeping with their theme they have lavender infused lemon and limeades with lavender syrup they make in-house. On top of that, I made another request-could I possibly get it as an Arnold Palmer? Not a problem! This coffee shop is SO CUTE with delicious food to boot! We came here twice on our 3-day trip in Pasadena. Everything we tried from the toast bar was delicious and perfectly balanced. Soooo pleasantly surprised with this place! I was getting my hair done down the street and wanted to grab a quick coffee. This shop is super cute, has a nice tiny outdoor space, has a bunch of house-made products available for sale, and I love their cute chalkboard menu. There was quite a line when I walked in around 9:15am on a Thursday but now I understand why! The kind lady taking orders was super helpful and she suggested I get the Brown Sugar Latte which was EXCELLENT - fantastic balance of flavors.
