Good local coffee shop. They have a nice variety of coffee and pastries. I usually get the lavender honey latte, which is really good. Unfortunately, this hasn't become a favorite go to because parking is terrible (you can only find spots in the lot before Millie's opens at 8:00), there's usually a long line, so if you're trying to get your coffee quickly, that will not happen and it's fairly pricey, at $7.50 for a small drink. Such a cute little spot! Very very friendly staff, amazing pastries, the toast is to die for, and the coffee was really good! I also love their selection of local products for sale. There's a little bit of seating inside and outside, nothing crazy. Honestly, this place would've easily gotten five stars but to not have public Wi-Fi at this point... My friend, who is obssessed with all things lavender, came to visit from the Bay Area and so we of course came to this place on a Saturday morning. Appreciate the private parking lot (can imagine it gets filled later in the day) and like the both indoor and outdoor seating. I've been going to L&H for a few years, not so often but when I can or in the area. I always get the Iced Lavender Breve. It's nice and creamy with a light lavender taste. I've also tried their goat cheese L&H toast. It's actually a great mix, the goat cheese isn't too overwhelming and the lavender seeds is just a great touch. This place would be 5 stars based off their coffee, but I'm giving 2 stars because of their incredibly slow service. They have 6 people working behind the counter and 4 of them are taking orders and making the drinks, but they are slow to take orders, and even slower making the drinks. I can only assume most of the staff is new. My recommendation is to call ahead and place your order. There was a line of at least 7 people and every time the phone rang they would answer and take the order of whoever called in, skipping everyone who was waiting. That being said, the coffee is solid. My favorite is the Cinnamon creamed honey latte. Not too sweet and very tasty. There's a parking lot attached that's usually pretty full, and a few spots for street parking. I can't say enough great things about this place. It's right by the corner of a pretty busy area. Parking is a bit hard to find but once you are there you are going to love it. The shop is small but cozy. I loved all the products they had for sale. It was interesting being able to see how everyone does their work. I got the lavender drink. It wasn't too sweet. The line was out the door (like 4 people in front of us) when we walked up. Didn't think much of it, this is a typical coffee line. We were a little surprised that our coffee order (with no food, just 2 coffees) took over 20 mins to be ready. There was a surprisingly high number of staff there, figured maybe they were just backed up, also seemed that they accommodate phone orders. I was happy that they had milk substitutes available. The French Lavender Brevé with oat milk is amazing Just a hint of sweetness that ends on a note of lavender~ The staff is super friendly and they all follow covid safety guidelines. There were about 4-5 groups waiting in front of us when we went, and the wait was about 15 min, but totally worth. The matcha was not good quality and I ordered a matcha latte and pumpkin spice matcha. The matcha was all underneath the drink and it was going to my throat. I asked the man to fix it and he just added sugar. Still tasted bad so I asked for a refund and they didn't refund me because "they don't offer refunds". Today I was in the area and placed a mobile order for pick up. I ordered the Cold Brew Freeze which is cold brew concentrate blended with half and half and sugar. I had the sriracha beef sandwich which was $10 plus $2.50 for gluten free brioche bread. No additional tax, I just paid $12.50. The portion size was a little small but the meat and ingredients were good and tasted fresh. However, I feel like it couldve used more of the sriracha mayo or included a side of the sauce, especially since Sriracha is in the name of the sandwich. There is a punch card where they give you a punch for each item that you purchase, regardless of the price of the item. Total wait time for my food and drink was less than 20 mins (my toast took a little longer to prepare since my drink came out a minute or two after I had paid). I felt uncomfortable dining in with my service animal. I saw one of the employees behind the counter look down at my service animal followed by a confused look on their face. It seemed as though the employees were talking about me and my service animal and questioning among themselves why my dog was there. The employees doubts could have been resolved by simply asking me the question: "is your dog a service animal?". Service animals do not have to wear any sort of identification labeling them as such. This day was on the warmer side and I opted to take off my service animal's vest so that he did not overheat since he is prone to overheating. I usually opt for him to wear his service animal vest so that businesses can easily identify that he is a service animal, but this is not required on my part and businesses are still allowed to ask if my dog is a service animal whether he has a vest on or not. I would not feel confident returning here with my service animal again and am disappointed with my experience dining in. Please train your employees to simply ask the 2 questions they are allowed to ask per the ADA, this can avoid creating an uncomfortable environment and can resolve any doubts from the employees. read more
