I recently went to Lavender Nail & Spa to get my toenails done before my son's wedding the weekend of 08/31, so the Wednesday before. I was nervous because I had previously been to a place in S. Windsor CT that was so bad. Well I walked in and right away I got a nice feeling. I was welcomed and everyone was so nice. I have really bad feet and the lady who did my feet was so sweet and gentile. OMG! I can't wait to go back! Stopped in so the boyfriend and I can treat some special ladies to some self care with manicures and pedicures while the boys decided to get their eyebrows waxed. The location is near the Stop and Shop in Waterford easy access from the busy roads and the communities of the area. Hidden in the back area of the plaza, the establishment is a lot bigger than you see from the outside. With a few stations in the front of manicures and hand treatments, a couple of stations for pedicures and lastly the back area for the staff and a small makeshift room that we had both laid down as the staff member applied warm wax, strips of paper and went to town shaping my "bushy caterpillars" as my sister calls them. The location is clean, well maintained with ballads playing for your entertainment. You'll find clients chatting with their staff members that can be heard as the place is pretty quiet. I have been to other locations where you can watch the news or something like that which I would suggest as an option as my family member ended up just watching the man work on her nails for the time she was there. My other family member raved about the pedicure and the massage that went along with it, saying that she felt great as she had left. Now the reason why you kept reading, you want to know how my first time with the hot wax and my eyebrows faired. It was a first time experience; at first trying with tweezers that hurt a lot more than the quick rip with the paper and wax. My only regret is that I didn't see how much came out. I was quickly complemented by my boyfriend so a job well done there. We will be returning as it is a convenient location from home and the service is there. read more

I went in for a pedicure this evening hoping the work would be good. I normally get Gel but decided not to because of the additional $20 charge for gel on top of the cost for the pedicure. Secondly, they do not clean under your toe nails nor do they prep your toe nail for polishing. I asked to have my toe nails buffed so the polish was look clean and smooth once dried. All in all, the service was rushed. My toes look worst than what they looked like before I got there. I do not, would not recommend this place to anyone. Go somewhere else. I asked for rhinestones on one nail and the guy said it would be an extra $50... so I just got them white. He didn't even shape them the way I asked. I showed him a photo. I'm local to the area and was not happy with the last few pedicures I've had at the place I've gone to for a few years. I've heard good things about Lavender Nail & Spa and it was the first place to come up on yelp so my husband and I decided to try it out. We walked in and i immediately had a good feeling. It was clean and calm and it wasn't busy (it was about 10am on a Sunday). They have a variety of different pedicure options ranging in price. I opted for the blueberry and my husband got the green tea. It was one of the most relaxing pedicures I've ever had. The techs did amazing with my mom & my pedicures. They were gentle, soft and precise. This is my new favorite nail salon! I've been to many many nail salons but none compare to this one. I went in for a pedicure and I couldn't believe what I got. They have many varieties but I got the flower pedicure. It's $40. It includes the paraffin wax, a 15 minute massage with steam, hot stones and towels, sugar scrub, and a major heel scrub to remove dead skin. It was amazing and so relaxing and only for $40?! I'm sold. I've been back every two week. Update 8/24/20 my review is still true. Still haven't gone anywhere else. Staff is so friendly and I love the service I get for the price. read more

For a dip powder with gel manicure it's only $40 which includes paraffin wax treatment, scrub, hand massage and a shoulder massage, you really can't beat that. Unlike other shops in the area upon arriving on time for my appointment, I was immediately sat down and helped. 35$ for a BEAUTIFULLY done SNS powder fill, with a back massage AND hand mask that has my hands feeling extra soft (something other shops in the area MAY offer, but for an additional fee) A nice perk was that this shop was extraordinarily clean as well I was even offered a free small travel size bottle of hand lotion for the holiday season. Not to mention, the service is exceptional!! they take their time and make sure they give you what you pay for and then some. I chose the $40 Flower spa pedicure and my technician was an incredibly young and quiet girl called Candy. I haven't had a lot of pedis but this one outdid everything else by a mile! Layer upon layer of treatments, wraps, and massages that lasted just short of 1-1/2 hours. OK so I am a licensed nail technician and I have been to many nail salons so I know what I'm talking about the average nail appointment is supposed to last 45 minutes to an hour I was in this appointment for two hours and 20 minutes and was late for what I had to do. That's just the first of many problems. So I walked in and I ask him for a full set of acrylic nails she puts the tip on and everything right and then proceeds to use nail dip I don't know if you know what that is but it's a powder that you use as nail polish you dip it in the powder and it turns to nail polish usually people who want to keep their natural nails use it and it protects their nails and lasts longer and doesn't smudge off you're not supposed to use it A replacement for acrylic so after she dips my nail and I say what are you doing I don't want dip I want acrylic and she said yeah yeah yeah I know and proceeds to add seven layers of dip polish. and I wanted red black and white nails with flame so he used red black and white dip so now I can't even change my polish color. Also when you use dip especially with Covid going around you're supposed to pour some out in a separate container because once you put your finger in at your contaminating the powder but he didn't he uses the container it came in that hundreds of other people have dip their fingers and I assume Now it's time for the designs he calls his chair over who's been sitting on the couch using his iPad the whole time to do the designs and they come out so bad that he hast to wipe it off six times it gets to the point where I have to take the brush and do one of the designs myself and he still charge me for it.So since he used the wrong product and didn't give me what I want I can't even get a nail fill or change my polish if I wanted to change my nails I'd have to Pay $60 for a whole new set versus 20 for a filling. The only good thing about this whole experience was the massage at the end I would not recommend coming to this nail salon worst experience I've ever had out of my five years of being a cosmetologist read more

Went here to have them wax my eyebrows. And just an eyebrow wax was exactly what I got. My wait wasn't long. The lady lead me to the small wax room. It wasn't the most relaxing experience because 3 bright lights in the ceiling beamed right down on my face. The lady wasted no time, and went straight to cleansing the surface with a cotton round, and then put the wax right on. It was a little hotter than I was used to., but still bearable. The waxing was done quickly, and she didn't have much to pluck. She didn't do any trimming, which is usually done whenever I'd go to salons. But it's not like I asked her to trim either. When she was done, the shape was good, but she didn't clean the wax residue off my face before handing me the mirror. I did pay dollars cheaper than all those other salons charged. So at the end of the appointment, it wasn't that bad, but could still improve experience by diffusing the lights, and cleansing the skin after, removing wax residue. They took very good care of my hands. Lots of detail put into my filing them. I was massaged while my nails soaked in polish remover. I went in for acrylic nails which they don't do. They offered SN powder but my nails weren't long enough. They said they could put fake nail tips on to make them longer but did not say a price. They charged me 63$ to do my nails in the same time it took me to have them done normally and they said it was because of the time it took. I wish they had told me the price in advance because I would've said no. The people are always nice and do a good job but I feel like they took advantage of me. I still included a tip because the girl did a nice job but I would never pay that much for just powder nails if I could've argued it or changed my mind. Very disappointed. read more
