I stopped by this place during a day of running errands. It was towards the end of the day, and I think there were going to close soon by the time I ordered. Ube latte: it was really good. I'm usually a little skeptical when non Filipino places claim they have an ube flavored item, but their latte has the distinctive flavor. It was pretty tasty. I liked it! 4.5 stars. Crispy chicken sandwich: the chicken was decent but it tasted like it was fried in old oil. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt because I could tell it would have been amazing if it were fried in fresh oil. Given I arrived about 30 mins before closing I'm going to cut them some slack. 3 stars Anyway if I were in the area again, I'd give them another shot.
The ambiance here is very unique, clean and spacious. The staff is nice and helpful if it's your first time here. I got the Matcha Latte and I believe one of their classic latte's. It was water based which is perfect for my stomach and didn't hurt it at all. The cream top made my matcha super creamy and enjoyable since I am not a fan of the strong earthy taste. For food, I got the prosciutto arugula burrata with truffle oil toast and I added avocado. This is my dream toast and I am so happy to discover this place. It was HUGE so I couldn't finish it in one sitting, it filled me up for half of the day with only eating half of it. Nothing was overpowering and all the ingredients balanced well with each other. My boyfriend's ube toast was delicious. Not too sweet and had a nice crunch/ube flavor to it. Hoping to return here when we visit LA again!
Such a cute little spot with clean aesthetic and relaxing vibe. The coffee is delicious , and food as well. For me , they have pretty generous portions, I could finish mine. Also, I like the service , always welcoming. Definitely one of the cafes i recommend to visit whether you want a good coffee, catch up with friends or get work done
A question that I find myself (unfortunately) asking often these days is: why does east side LA have all the best coffee shops? Laveta is a coffeeshop in Echo Park that had been on my list of coffeeshops to try for some time. I was finally able to visit on Boxing Day. Laveta was pretty quiet around 9 am when we arrived, which I thought was because of Christmas. The staff were really nice and our drinks came out quickly. I got the matcha misto here, which I really enjoyed. This consisted of an iced matcha latte with cream sweetened with agave. The matcha was good and the cream wasn't overly sweet. My favorite thing about this place is the aesthetic, which is minimal and neutral. I'd be a regular here if it wasn't on the other side of town.
Really good coffee and breakfast sandwich was really delicious. I see why it's a favorite for this coffee shop. Love the patio got some good work done while enjoying the LA skyscrapers. Thank you Laveta I will be back!
The inside is so cute and simple! They have seats and mini tables around but I wouldn't come here w more than 2-3+ in your party if you want to sit, drink/eat and talk. Laveta latte (left) was surprisingly good. I thought it would be too sweet just based on the color bc I like my coffee strong. Def recommend adding an extra shot for those who are the same. Andante (right) too sweet for my liking bc of the sweet cream but to each their own! Breakfast sandwich with sour dough is so good, just a tiny bit too salty on some bites. this is like private equity matcha. i swear Stagger in ktown has the same exact powdery taste - super unappealing and really sweet, even at 50% sugar. açaí bowl is okay. Yall whatever like this is another generic "aesthetic" cafe frequented by 20/30 year olds there are better quality places in the area. guy who made my matcha was nice to me, as a person
Laveta is a cool spot with a nice atmosphere and plenty of space to hang out. The food looked good, and honestly, this feels more like a place to visit for their food, or one of their iced drinks rather than for a coffee-focused experience. As for the cortado, it was pretty average and not something I'd recommend if you're trying to get a feel for the quality of their coffee program. The drink lacked a lot and I couldn't even identify any of the notes. They also don't offer any mugs either which is a major negative for me especially at a nice place like that. I'd possibly come back to try the food or an iced drink, but if your goal is to evaluate their coffee through a cortado, this probably isn't the place I'd point people toward. Service was pretty straightforward.
If the city of LA were a restaurant or cafe, it would be this: the earthen and industrial aesthetic, people clad in athleisure and designer clothes, overpriced but yummy. The chicken sandwich was a little saucy, but the slaw was a unique, bright touch and a good contrast to the crunchy, juicy chicken. The andante was an overall unmemorable but otherwise enjoyable sweet coffee. I got it less sweet, and for someone who doesn't like sweet things, it ensured with the cream I didn't think it was too sweet. The seating area outside is clean and spacious but inside was a little overstimulating. I wouldn't necessary work here even with the free WiFi, but it's a great place to catch up with friends. Their parking lot is super unoptimized, though.
This is such a unique coffee shop. It feels like a social club with the intimate setting of stone rock seating and people gathered around in a circle. People are chatting, studying, reading, etc. This coffee shop is small but beautiful. The look and feel of this coffee shop is like being in RH, the upscale furniture store. I loved the jazz music in the background as well; it was a real vibe. I ordered the Laveta latte which is espresso mixed with maple syrup and milk. It was delicious and tasted so unique. I like that the syrup was the main sweetener here and not sugar/simple syrup. It's natural and provides a different taste. I actually want to copy this drink myself! I'll definitely come back again!
I was really looking forward to the ube latte and have a couple thoughts: I loved the ube latte with a shot of espresso and cold foam. The espresso balances out the sweetness because by itself it's a very sweet cereal milk. Knowing the espresso was good I would assume their other coffee and lattes would be really good as well. The other drinks we got were a chai latte and Hojicha tea and they were not very good. The chai just tasted like milk with warm spices and the Hojicha was ok not great. I know these are just non-coffee options to offer on the menu but they are not good enough to order in place of coffee. The staff was very cool and nice, drinks came out fairly fast for the crowd we had too. Main point is come for the coffee and not the other drinks. Also, they have a whole food menu and seating outside that we haven't explored yet!
We arrived in LA late Friday night and we're staying in the Echo Park area... On Saturday morning we hit Yelp looking for a great place to get coffee and breakfast. Laveta did not disappoint! I almost missed it entirely as I went inside and it looked like a cool daytime club more than an eatery. The coffee was spectacular, the service was great and the food was really delicious. Highly recommend their breakfast sandwiches! Don't be intimidated by how cool it looks inside... They're very friendly and happy to help you have a spectacular meal!
Laveta is a super cute minimalistic cafe located close to echo park lake in Los Angeles. They have their own parking lot, which already is an A+. But since it is a small lot, there is street parking all around. They have really cool inside seating as well as outdoor seating. They offer coffee, matcha and teas. But let's not ignore the food they offer, which I highly recommend you try out! I've heard the burger is delicious but haven't tried it because I'm obsessed with their Avacado toast! It's literally the best Avacado I've had! Their coffee is good as well. I've had their iced vanilla latte, which you can't go wrong with. I also enjoyed one of their signature coffee, the laveta. Check it out!

I absolutely love Laveta's Ube latte! The baristas were super welcoming and playing good music, it's also extremely aesthetic inside. There's plenty of parking which is also nice, I definitely recommend trying it out. read more

I had the horchata latte with a shot of espresso and a breakfast burger. Coffee was good but not life changing, the burger however was life changing for me. Interior is vibey but it's not exactly comfortable if you were to stay to work. read more

This place was such a great find in LA!!! They have their own private lot, so you don't have to struggle with street parking. And the building they're in is super hip with a little bit of outdoor seating. After trying to figure out what to get from their awesome menu, we decided on the sweet cream cold brew and the ube latte (no espresso). The sweet cream cold brew was really good, however the ube latte really stood out. This is hands down the BEST Ube latte I've ever had (and I've had quite a bit). It's a MUST TRY!! read more

Food 10/10 Service ?/10 Ambiance 10/10 Ube oatmilk latte 11/10 Laveta is vibesss. We had a quick brunch here on a Wednesday and here's what we got: Mushroom Porridge- it was so good! Perfectly cooked. It had cauliflower, mushrooms, roasted kale and quail eggs. Avocado Toast- husband said it's good. Lol Chicken and waffles for our little one. It came with ube waffles that were really good. We love their style so much I can't help but take pictures. Coming back soon! read more
Came here for their matcha mistu! Matcha with agave foam...the foam was really good, I only wished I had more, so next time I would definitely ask for a bit extra. The atmosphere is pet-friendly with biscuits for your best doggo. It can be a little loud with the music, but not too much. Yet to try to food, but will be back! read more
Aesthetic coffee shop where the benches and tables might break your back trying to do work but the coffee is tasty. Huge bonus is the small parking lot though there is only a handful of spots. I tried the barista horchata and was able to sub for oat milk and got it with a shot of espresso. Was so good and will def be back to try their other drinks. read more
This place is so cute and definitely has Korean cafe vibes! I love the minimal interior and exterior. There are plenty of outdoor dining spots too which is a plus. The food was really good -- I ordered the breakfast plate and the bacon was perfectly glazed. The ube latte was a tad bit too sweet but I think that's on me for not asking for less sweet. I have walked and driven past this place so many times and finally stopped on for food the other day. A friend of mine was in town for an interview and only had about an hour to grab breakfast. We both wanted French toast, I ooked online for FT near me and Laveta popped up. We called in the order and arrived about 10 mins later. Food wasn't ready, so we paid and waited another 10 mins. Grabbed our food and went outside to eat. These French toast were DELICIOUS, some of the best I've ever had. My friend said the same thing. I'll definitely be back for them again. I wish I could give this place 3.5 stars. Overall really good quality drinks and the cafe had a nice ambience. It felt like your typical cafe but more minimal. Parking was a bit difficult to find and there's loud music playing. I didn't get to try the food but from everyone ordering it seems popular and good. I ordered the (dirty) ube latte and the misto matcha. The Ube latte was delicious and creamy. I loved the ube flavor and I recommend ordering it dirty! The misto matcha on the other hand was just okay. I wish they would have put more creme on top and also made their matcha stronger. Especially for the price, it did not feel worth it. Would I return? Yes but I wouldn't go out of my way for this. read more

Wowowoowoww. Haven't been excited over coffee in a while since I have mastered the DIY at-home oat milk latte (ty Oatly), but Laveta got me coming here twice in one weekend which says a lot. Their namesake drink is essentially an oat milk latte with double espresso and maple syrup. It is on the sweeter side, and has that very classic Korean sweet coffee taste (like those instant coffee packets- but better). What really got me though was their minimalistic, Yeezy vibe interior. Plenty of social distance friendly spaces on the patio out back. Pet friendly. Dog treats and hand sanitizers inside. Good number of parking spots, but you might have to find street parking nearby if you come during peak hour. Will definitely be back to try their other drinks! read more
Great cute coffee spot with outdoor seating. Only somewhat annoying hipsters frequent here. Their matcha latte thingy was amazing even at $6. Their food looks bomb too. I never thought I'd be like "Mmmm cauliflower" but I did. Super clean, futuristic wood design. They have parking. It's a nice addition to that little spot of Echo Park so you don't have to walk up to Sunset for coffee. Right across the street from an also great coffee spot. There's room for two. Cute little place, they were a little slow with it but reallyyy chill so idc. Andante- delicious cold brew, nice sweet notes, not too fruity. The foam on top is salty and comforting. Ube latte- nice ube flavor, more on the watery rather than creamy side. Matcha Misto- great presence of matcha, fun with the foam. read more

This coffee shop was a little too cool for me. Good coffee (really good, actually) and the customers all looked so cool. It's modern without being stark. I went on a Sunday morning and there was a bit of a wait but the coffee came out quickly once we ordered. Parking is awful, they have a lot but it was full. You're better off looking for street parking. read more

Laveta is a cute minimalistic cafe with drinks and a decent food menu. They have a small parking lot with 5-6 spots. There's both indoor and outdoor patio seating (5-6 tables) which is nice. I ordered the Ube latte with oat milk ($1 more for alternative milk) and the flavor was good without being overly sweet. I chose to get the breakfast sandwich with a croissant and it was flaky and delicious. The sandwich has a few pieces of glazed maple bacon which complemented the sandwich very well. There are also some pieces of potato chips which is something I would never think to add to a breakfast sandwich. The wait for drinks was around 10 mins and the food took another 5 mins for a Sunday morning. Overall a great vibe and a casual place to stop by for coffee and food! It's a few blocks down from echo park so definitely stop by if you're in the neighborhood. read more

i can't get enough of this place. coffee is outstanding and food is BOMB! every single time it's been so consistent ( I see why it can get so busy, but so worth the wait). Safe to say my favorite coffee spot in Echo Park. love the simple esthetics and the outside seating. if you haven't tried it, highly recommend. Just be patient when finding parking, but if you're lucky there might be an open spot available in their parking lot! read more

Parking: We came during a really busy late morning so we had to wait a bit for a spot to become available in their small lot. It ended up being a super tight spot too so be wary if you have a wider car. Food/Drink: I'm definitely coming back for their ube latte. Best ube latte I've ever had - not too overpowering and not too sweet. My friend and I also got some brunch menu items and were satisfied with how they tasted. A bit expensive for a tiny cafe but worth a try if you don't mind the price and the wait. - Ube Lattes Ambiance: Very modern and minimalist decoration and interior layout. The entire interior is concrete and indoor seating offers no back support because its seating is very block-y. They also have outdoor seating but my friend and I were unlucky with snagging a table. Nice place for a photo op though! Service: Drinks were ready within first 5-10 minutes but food took another 10-15 minutes after we got our drinks. read more

Cute minimalistic coffee shop. Great ambience, good music and friendly staff. We got the Dirty Horchata and Matcha Miesto. The Matcha Miesto was a little underwhelming. It definitely needed some more sweetness added to it. The sweet cream was very light in flavor. I tried drinking it as is but ended up adding simple syrup to it. My bf enjoyed his Dirty Horchata but wish he got a double shot instead for extra caffeine. The Ube Waffles are a must! So light and crunchy at the same time. Our favorite item there. Breakfast Sandwich was good but it was drenched in some dressing that made it hard to eat. The sauce made the sandwich soggy and fell apart as we were eating it. Next time we will try it with the sourdough and ask for light dressing. read more
Super cute coffee shop with really good drinks. I ordered a vanilla iced latte with oat milk and asked to add sweet cream on top which really made a difference. The latte itself was decently sweet and the sweet cream made it taste like dessert to me, yum! The service was really great too. The baristas were nice and very friendly. The interior is minimalistic and cute. There is very limited indoor seating and no tables so it's more of a grab and go / sit and chill; not a place to study at. There's free street parking available. I came on a Sunday morning and it parking was hard to find. read more

What is the seating situation? I see little benches but no table. Was this just for Covid times or is it still like that?
Hey! They have a small amount of indoor and outdoor seating with tables. I had no issue finding a table when I was there recently. I'd say a small group is best.
Is there an easier way to read the menu besides the customer photos which are not very clear?

Is there wifi available to work in the patio?
