Waiting for my oil change found Laveta on Yelp. Walked to this disclosed but not really building on the corner or the street. Saw a man waiting outside, then actually looked at the building. It has a parking area, more modern looking. Inside was so clean, chill and cute vibe. Menu is on a tripod easel, listing food and beverages. I had tried the crispy chicken sandwich with French fries. The chicken was moist and crispy, topped with an apple coleslaw. The fries were crispy salted full of flavor. For my drink selection tried their signature laveta latte iced. I'm wired haha it has oatmilk which is a bonus for me. They do have a patio seating area. Follow all Covid restrictions. Customer service was really welcoming. Their food is actually really good for a coffee shop! Portions are a little small (especially for the price), but the flavor is great. My favorite is their ube latte + espresso. Knocked off a star because this place is pricey. With oat milk, if I remember correctly, you're pushing $8 for it. The wait times are also a bit long, even if you just ordered one drink. I also want to note (this does not affect their star rating) the staff is not the friendliest, and the vibes are pretentious. I don't need a greeting as I walk through the door (since most times they're super busy), but when it's your turn to order at the counter, they don't say anything and just stare at you. Or other times, when I'm the only one in line, they're busy chatting it up with their friends at the counter rather than acknowledging something like 'hey I'll take your order in a second.' read more

This place was such a great find in LA!!! They have their own private lot, so you don't have to struggle with street parking. And the building they're in is super hip with a little bit of outdoor seating. After trying to figure out what to get from their awesome menu, we decided on the sweet cream cold brew and the ube latte (no espresso). I have walked and driven past this place so many times and finally stopped on for food the other day. A friend of mine was in town for an interview and only had about an hour to grab breakfast. I'm not like the other prisons. I'm an aesthetic Nordic minimalistic prison. This is the first thought that popped into my head when I walked into Laveta. The concrete floors and benches paired with the single Marshall stereo and a big beautiful wreath on the otherwise austere walls probably triggered it. Anyway this place is great and tasty! GOOD + Ube - I love use and the attention it has been getting recently. That said, the Ube latte wasn't too sweet, and the ube waffle was done SO well. It comes with a mango spread, and they were generous with the fruit. + Mango Pesto Rice - I know savory fruit on rice might sound weird at first, but trust me, this is a unique dish (small potato crisps? you guys are wild, I love it) and a must try in my book + Parking lot + Ordering in person did not take too long, food was fresh + Good portions MEH - Space - I would imagine that in non-pandemic times there might not be a ton of seating inside or outside. I wish I could give this place 3.5 stars. Overall really good quality drinks and the cafe had a nice ambience. It felt like your typical cafe but more minimal. Parking was a bit difficult to find and there's loud music playing. I didn't get to try the food but from everyone ordering it seems popular and good. I ordered the (dirty) ube latte and the misto matcha. The Ube latte was delicious and creamy. I loved the ube flavor and I recommend ordering it dirty! The misto matcha on the other hand was just okay. I wish they would have put more creme on top and also made their matcha stronger. Especially for the price, it did not feel worth it. Would I return? Wowowoowoww. Haven't been excited over coffee in a while since I have mastered the DIY at-home oat milk latte (ty Oatly), but Laveta got me coming here twice in one weekend which says a lot. Their namesake drink is essentially an oat milk latte with double espresso and maple syrup. It is on the sweeter side, and has that very classic Korean sweet coffee taste (like those instant coffee packets- but better). What really got me though was their minimalistic, Yeezy vibe interior. Plenty of social distance friendly spaces on the patio out back. Pet friendly. Dog treats and hand sanitizers inside. Great cute coffee spot with outdoor seating. Only somewhat annoying hipsters frequent here. Their matcha latte thingy was amazing even at $6. Their food looks bomb too. I never thought I'd be like "Mmmm cauliflower" but I did. Super clean, futuristic wood design. They have parking. I went on a Sunday morning and there was a bit of a wait but the coffee came out quickly once we ordered. Parking is awful, they have a lot but it was full. You stroll into that cantina on Tatooine and instead of an interstellar big band, there's a couple hip baristas with an espresso machine holding court. Drip coffee was disappointingly lukewarm, and that reminded me of not only Larry David and but also of Andante on Sunset (they also sell Andante beans here). A half-caf Americano bewilderingly took about 10-15 minutes to produce. There seemed to have a ton of to-go orders that kept our dynamic duo pretty busy. Laveta is a cute prison themed coffee shop. With the cold concrete interior you can relive your jail cell days. The ube late iced tasted like milk. I asked them to give it more ube flavor. The bowl (16) was something you could whip up yourself in 10 minutes at home using left over ingredients. The patio is adorable. Perfect for people watching. Love seeing PR girls, marketers and influence gather talking about this "hidden gem." It's a vibe, but mainly for that patio and people watching. I tried the ube latte and cold brew from Laveta. The cold brew was good but the ube latte is a must try! So delicious! When you walk into Laveta it's a very minimalist style, everything is monocolor. The space inside isn't very big so if you do decide to eat in, it feels like the line is forming around you and it can feel crowded very easily. There is a parking lot, unfortunately when I went it was full but it was very surprisingly very easy to find parking. read more

Laveta is a cute minimalistic cafe with drinks and a decent food menu. They have a small parking lot with 5-6 spots. There's both indoor and outdoor patio seating (5-6 tables) which is nice. I ordered the Ube latte with oat milk ($1 more for alternative milk) and the flavor was good without being overly sweet. I chose to get the breakfast sandwich with a croissant and it was flaky and delicious. The sandwich has a few pieces of glazed maple bacon which complemented the sandwich very well. There are also some pieces of potato chips which is something I would never think to add to a breakfast sandwich. The wait for drinks was around 10 mins and the food took another 5 mins for a Sunday morning. Overall a great vibe and a casual place to stop by for coffee and food! Parking: We came during a really busy late morning so we had to wait a bit for a spot to become available in their small lot. It ended up being a super tight spot too so be wary if you have a wider car. Food/Drink: I'm definitely coming back for their ube latte. A bit expensive for a tiny cafe but worth a try if you don't mind the price and the wait. - Ube Lattes Ambiance: Very modern and minimalist decoration and interior layout. The entire interior is concrete and indoor seating offers no back support because its seating is very block-y. They also have outdoor seating but my friend and I were unlucky with snagging a table. Parking: Great. Lots of streets options as well as the parking lot! Vibe: Great Ambiance and the aesthetics were all on point. Menu: I was happy to see the breakfast options as well as a great drink/beverage offerings. I ordered an iced matcha and a yogurt while on a break from work. I received my drink almost instantaneously and the young woman at the counter was very kind. Here is where you lost me. It took over 10 minutes for my bowl, while the business was not busy at all and when I asked the young man about the yogurt he said it wasn't ready and he would let me know. Then the young woman who helped me earlier went back and grabbed it and by the time I started eating the yogurt was almost room temp. How do you tell a customer their item isn't ready when in fact it was, and then it was clearly left out for some time because of the temp and I watched you stroll around the cafe and literally not do anything and leave all the work for your co-worker. Cute minimalistic coffee shop. Great ambience, good music and friendly staff. We got the Dirty Horchata and Matcha Miesto. The Matcha Miesto was a little underwhelming. It definitely needed some more sweetness added to it. The sweet cream was very light in flavor. I tried drinking it as is but ended up adding simple syrup to it. My bf enjoyed his Dirty Horchata but wish he got a double shot instead for extra caffeine. The Ube Waffles are a must! So light and crunchy at the same time. Our favorite item there. Breakfast Sandwich was good but it was drenched in some dressing that made it hard to eat. The sauce made the sandwich soggy and fell apart as we were eating it. The latte itself was decently sweet and the sweet cream made it taste like dessert to me, yum! The service was really great too. The baristas were nice and very friendly. The interior is minimalistic and cute. There is very limited indoor seating and no tables so it's more of a grab and go / sit and chill; not a place to study at. There's a residential street right behind. The inside area is a lot smaller than it looks in pictures. Looks cozy and can't wait to have it reopened. Ordered the Chagachino with oat milk. I was afraid the chaga mushroom mix would have a distinct flavor apart from the coffee but it didn't drastically change the taste. It was smooth and enjoyable. The double espresso adds to it a darker roast taste and the chaga probably enhanced it by adding an earthy tone to it. It was sweet enough with the oatmilk too. read more

The whole cafe itself is beautifully crafted and mixes minimalistic industrial aesthetics with wood and organic motifs. When I was waiting for my drinks and sitting on a cool concrete bench with these interesting wooden table things next to me, I pondered if I felt uncomfortable because of the materials and aesthetic or if the whole experience was outlandish. Laveta does not just serve cafe goodies, but also an experience that is an attempt to escape the chaos that is LA. With that said, the vibe was too sterile for me. It felt cold, words pierced the air and bounced off of hard surfaces, it felt like something in WIP purgatory. A more pragmatic issue is that there is nowhere to lean so your posture either saves you or ends you as you wait. I didn't order any food but the prices are pretty high and may have discouraged me from taking the plunge. The drinks are on par with similar cafes in price. The worker there (I would not say he was particularly nice) was helpful and pretty chill. He let me change a drink from hot to iced even after I ordered which was greatly appreciated. Their bathroom is outside and you need to ask for a key. I had to pee real bad and the barista let me use the restroom even before ordering. Come for the vibes, drink for the experience. Berry Mojito Fizz: 3.5/5 During my visit, I wanted a very fun drink and coffee and matcha just weren't it. It always hurts me to get fizzy drinks at cafés because I know they aren't worth it, but I told myself that this would be something special. It was pretty good. My fears when ordering fancy sparkling drinks are that they are always too watery, not fizzy enough, and taste like random things mixed into soda water. The drink itself was very cohesive and the fruit flavors tasted well incorporated into the canned Perrier they use rather than being separate entities. They did list omija as an ingredient, one that is close to my heart, and I wish that it was stronger, but it was definitely present. On a scale out of 10, the fizziness was a solid 6. I feel like the only way to get a good fizz for these sorts of drinks would be to mix them and then carbonate. Overall it was okay and I would get it again. If they incorporated more interesting fruits like mulberry or black currant, I can see this drink being extraordinary. read more
