This is a cute little shop located just a short walk from our hotel. We really appreciated that they were one of the few spots in the area open early. They have a charming setup with a couple of tables and chairs both inside and out. We tried a few different drinks: Pandan Latte (with oat milk): This was decent and unique flavor, though it didn't quite blow me away. Banana Latte: A friend ordered this one, but it wasn't really for me. The service was very friendly and welcoming, which added to the nice atmosphere. Overall, it's a solid spot for an early caffeine fix if you're in the neighborhood.

I liked it. Had a craving for some egg coffee and decided to try the new Chinatown location. Clean interior with a few tables and wall bench for seating. Also a few chairs in front. A good place to do a little work or chat with friends. Right now they're only doing iced egg coffee, but they said they'll be doing hot drinks soon too. They also have pastries. The iced egg coffee was good. Service was good. Friendly staff. Street meter parking on the block.

Love this spot! I got the salted ube cream latte and it was so good! I was able to get some work done here as well. The music they were playing were spot on. Service was pretty quick too!

Cool hipster spot on the edge of Chinatown just a few blocks from Philippe's. Coffee and matcha drinks. Don't come here if you can't handle your caffeine!

I finished up a ten mile run and was in need of a treat. Found this coffee shop on Yelp and made my way over. It's a short walk from the Metro. I ordered a less sweet salted caramel coffee and it really hit the spot. Rich flavor and a salty delicious sweet cream top. The service was friendly and the shop well clean and well organized. Nice spot! No hot options but it seems like they may be on the horizon.

Busiest visit ever for Mother's Day and post Dodger game. Love that their yummy pastries are being fully stocked each day now and keeping up with a larger demand. Every drink can be ordered "less sweet" if desired. Service is still top notch and so friendly and welcoming! If they keep up this busy pace they'll outgrow this location quickly, Great vibes all around!

I've loved Nam Coffee's beans to make at home and to gift my friends since before they opened a coffee shop, and I had heard good things about their first location but I've never been. I happened to be in Chinatown for a cookbook signing and was surprised to see they had a new location - perfect timing! WHAT I ORDERED: Egg coffee THE DRINK: Tasted just as if I had made a fresh phin drip over ice myself! It's not as thick and sweet as other places in the OC make it, but I still really enjoyed it. The egg cream was also unique in that it wasn't a thick creamy layer as other places do it, but I liked the fact that the flavor was less "eggy" and more "custardy" if that makes sense. SERVICE: On a Sunday early afternoon, it was BUSY! Drinks didn't take too too long to come out but was definitely bustling. I recommend ordering online. VIBES: I'll have to take a closer look next time, but seemed more like a place to sit with friends than a place to sit down and do work - no large tables and I didn't see many outlets (unless I missed them). Decor was pretty! BOTTOM LINE: So happy to see a specialty Viet coffee shop in the area - I'll have to come back to try the other drinks!

Cute coffee shop located in Chinatown right next to the infamous banh mi shop. What drew me here was a pic of their strawberry matcha but I didn't see it on the menu. So I ended up getting the Panda Matcha and OMGee it is Delicious!! Perfect sweetness, with a slight mung bean taste. This drink definitely made me a fan of Nam!

Nam Coffee now has a 2nd location and this one is located right in the heart of Chinatown. To get here, street parking will be your best bet and there is tons of it around the area. They have some tables for seating inside and a couple seats outside as well. For their menu, they have a solid selection of different coffee and matcha drinks to choose from. Wifey and I stopped by for our weekend matcha run and she ended up getting the Salted Cream Matcha Ube and I got the Banana Matcha. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. You really cannot go wrong with anything you order here!

Not a first timer for Nam, as I have tried it in the other location and love it so I was super excited knowing they expanded their wings into Chinatown area. Parking wasn't a friend but wouldn't be a problem as I only stopped by for to-go order. They did have nice sit down space should you ever need to stop and hang. The menu selection was similar, with their signature Vietnamese coffee. If last time the pandan one got me hooked, this time I wanna bet on their Saigon Latte; said to be the lighter version of their Vietnamese coffee. I would say it's great substitute for you who wanted less strong coffee flavor and subtle sweetness as well as creaminess. To the opposite, should you fancy way creamier and thicker option, give their Egg Coffee a try. Worry not about it being eggy as it wouldn't given it's more like custard. More on the sweet end, but I didn't love it.

I love Nam Coffee. I've been to their original location several times and so happy that they are right in Chinatown now (they replaced minon cake). They're still in the soft opening phase but they have most of their signature drinks (Viet coffees and matcha) available. Excited to see their full menu once they go through their grand opening. They also have a kitchen at this location so they're going to have hot foods!! That's such an awesome addition! The space is not that big, there are only a few tables but they do have outlets and WiFi. Staff was great, no wait for coffee when I went mid-day and space is clean. They do have a restroom too. Only issue might be looking for parking but Chinatown does have plenty of $5 all day parking lots. Can't wait for this to be a neighborhood staple!

Nice ambiance in there, there was street parking when I went on a Sunday. The coffee was good, I think I prefer the egg coffee over the ube coffee. I learned my lesson to never ask for light ice for Vietnamese coffee because it's actually really strong. I ended up asking for more ice and he was nice about that.

There's plenty of parking along a hiking trail across the street of Kissaten Corazon. You'd have to use the crosswalk to access the cafe. As a speakeasy is, you have to look for this place. You don't have to look that hard since there's a small sign outside, leading into the cafe. Once you cross the first part, you'll see two bathrooms and outdoor seating. Once you come inside, you'll notice a tiny window with menus to the side. You order with the kind baristas, before taking a seat inside, at the bar, or outside. The inside is beautiful. There's a bar area for you to drink your coffee. You can also sit along the perimeter, near the piano, or near some bookshelves. There are numerous areas to sit and admire the inside. They have random vintage decor and shelving. As for drinks, I had ordered their strawberry sesame latte and their egg sando. Their egg sando comes with three baby dill pickles and some ground pepper sprinkled on top. It was delicious and truly hit the spot. Their latte was also delicious with a balance of coffee and fruit. The sesame isn't overpowering, so I wouldn't worry about that when ordering. After eating, we bussed our own plates and cups by putting them in a basket near their water dispenser. They seem to offer other beverages that weren't coffee, as well. I think I'll have to come back again soon! Again, it was the perfect experience.

By my third visit to Heavy Water Coffee, I realized this is officially becoming one of my spots…read more I've had the Cold Brew Cream Top, The Blue Heaven, and today just a regular drip coffee. All were excellent. Obviously...I came back. But honestly, the first thing I noticed on my very first visit was how comfortable it felt. I'm originally from more mid-sized cities like Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, so having a coffee shop where you can walk in and just shoot the shit matters to me. I'm a yapper. I love community. I like trying new places, but I also really value establishing my "spots" when I'm settling into a neighborhood. The specialty drinks here are exactly that: special. The menu feels unique and carefully crafted. But at the end of the day, I'm also just a genuine coffee lover, and the drip coffee is EXCELLENT. I also love that they micro-roast locally here in LA. I really value supporting local businesses, especially ones that clearly care about sourcing, craft, and community. While I'll absolutely be returning to shoot the shit, I'll also definitely be grabbing a bag of beans soon because I love the ritual of making coffee at home too. I also want to say this because I noticed some of the harsher reviews before visiting: this is a small neighborhood coffee shop, not a massive corporate chain built around speed and volume. Sometimes there's one person working. Sometimes service is slower because drinks are being made carefully and intentionally. Personally, I'd rather wait a few extra minutes for a thoughtfully made drink from a local business than get rushed through another soulless assembly line coffee experience. And yes, quality coffee costs money, especially in LA. Responsibly sourced beans, local roasting, quality ingredients, rent, and paying workers fairly all cost money. If someone wants the absolute cheapest possible coffee experience, there are plenty of giant chains built for that. But places like this are important because they create actual neighborhood culture and community. The staff have always been incredibly kind to me, and you can tell the owner cares as much about people as coffee. Will absolutely continue supporting. PLEASE SHOP LOCAL!!!
