I couldn't really tell difference between organic and regular, but flavor was fine. There is usually wait on weekends, and indoor space is quite small. There are few tables in back. I haven't been to this spot in quite a few years, and it's even better than I remembered. While cafe interior is very minimalistic and non-air-conditioned (poor baristas!), there is a generous amount of patio seating that's shielded from the sun due to a giant tree and small canopies, so it stays cool and breezy. I arrived around 11am on a Sunday, just before the witching hour began at 11:15/11:30am, so I had my pick of outdoor seating. I ordered the Prosciutto toast, but they accidentally served me the Avocado toast, which looked delicious but I was in more of a burrata mood. They fixed the mistake pretty quickly, however. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful, though it's very messy to eat. It's kind of a prosciutto salad on top of toast so you have to eat it separately with a fork. Also got the cold brew with cream top, and it was perfect. Smooth, rich cold brew with a thick creamy top, not too sweet. The ambiance here is very unique, clean and spacious. The staff is nice and helpful if it's your first time here. I got the Matcha Latte and I believe one of their classic latte's. It was water based which is perfect for my stomach and didn't hurt it at all. The cream top made my matcha super creamy and enjoyable since I am not a fan of the strong earthy taste. For food, I got the prosciutto arugula burrata with truffle oil toast and I added avocado. This is my dream toast and I am so happy to discover this place. It was HUGE so I couldn't finish it in one sitting, it filled me up for half of the day with only eating half of it. Nothing was overpowering and all the ingredients balanced well with each other. I'm usually a little skeptical when non Filipino places claim they have an ube flavored item, but their latte has the distinctive flavor. It was pretty tasty. I liked it! 4.5 stars. Crispy chicken sandwich: the chicken was decent but it tasted like it was fried in old oil. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt because I could tell it would have been amazing if it were fried in fresh oil. Laveta is a coffeeshop in Echo Park that had been on my list of coffeeshops to try for some time. I was finally able to visit on Boxing Day. Laveta was pretty quiet around 9 am when we arrived, which I thought was because of Christmas. The staff were really nice and our drinks came out quickly. I got the matcha misto here, which I really enjoyed. This consisted of an iced matcha latte with cream sweetened with agave. The matcha was good and the cream wasn't overly sweet. My favorite thing about this place is the aesthetic, which is minimal and neutral. I'd be a regular here if it wasn't on the other side of town. read more

The food looked good, and honestly, this feels more like a place to visit for their food, or one of their iced drinks rather than for a coffee-focused experience. As for the cortado, it was pretty average and not something I'd recommend if you're trying to get a feel for the quality of their coffee program. The drink lacked a lot and I couldn't even identify any of the notes. They also don't offer any mugs either which is a major negative for me especially at a nice place like that. I'd possibly come back to try the food or an iced drink, but if your goal is to evaluate their coffee through a cortado, this probably isn't the place I'd point people toward. I was really looking forward to the ube latte and have a couple thoughts: I loved the ube latte with a shot of espresso and cold foam. The espresso balances out the sweetness because by itself it's a very sweet cereal milk. Knowing the espresso was good I would assume their other coffee and lattes would be really good as well. The other drinks we got were a chai latte and Hojicha tea and they were not very good. The chai just tasted like milk with warm spices and the Hojicha was ok not great. I know these are just non-coffee options to offer on the menu but they are not good enough to order in place of coffee. The staff was very cool and nice, drinks came out fairly fast for the crowd we had too. Main point is come for the coffee and not the other drinks. If the city of LA were a restaurant or cafe, it would be this: the earthen and industrial aesthetic, people clad in athleisure and designer clothes, overpriced but yummy. The chicken sandwich was a little saucy, but the slaw was a unique, bright touch and a good contrast to the crunchy, juicy chicken. The andante was an overall unmemorable but otherwise enjoyable sweet coffee. I got it less sweet, and for someone who doesn't like sweet things, it ensured with the cream I didn't think it was too sweet. Laveta is a super cute minimalistic cafe located close to echo park lake in Los Angeles. They have their own parking lot, which already is an A+. But since it is a small lot, there is street parking all around. They have really cool inside seating as well as outdoor seating. They offer coffee, matcha and teas. But let's not ignore the food they offer, which I highly recommend you try out! I've heard the burger is delicious but haven't tried it because I'm obsessed with their Avacado toast! Lots of parking for an LA cafe spot! Super minimalistic inside with surrounding seats along the wall. Matcha was strong and not too sweet, but the cold foam was so overly whipped it felt like butter stuck on my tongue and lips. But the food is what i would come here for ! Probably one of the best matcha drinks I've had in LA! The Matcha Misto was delicious!! It is composed of unsweetened matcha with a sweet cream top. The matcha flavors were prominent and had a bright, floral, almost citrus-y profile. We even had to double check if they used any citrus syrup, but they didnt! The matcha drink was so tasty and smooth by itself I almost forgot there was no milk involved (except for in the cream). I loved how the cream conferred a little bit of sweetness but overall it was all the matcha running the show! My partner's Laveta was also very solid with balanced flavors. I enjoyed how the espresso flavors came through with the oat milk and subtle maple syrup sweetness. At the end, we got their andante beans and also tried their cortado which was solid. Needless to say that the minimalistic vibes were aesthetically pleasing. There were several outlets and outdoor seating available. Definitely a great place to get some work/studying done or to meet up with someone. The only thing missing were quick grab and go sweets like a chocolate chip cookie.
