I stopped by this place during a day of running errands. It was towards the end of the day, and I think there were going to close soon by the time I ordered. Ube latte: it was really good. I'm usually a little skeptical when non Filipino places claim they have an ube flavored item, but their latte has the distinctive flavor. It was pretty tasty. I liked it! 4.5 stars. Crispy chicken sandwich: the chicken was decent but it tasted like it was fried in old oil. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt because I could tell it would have been amazing if it were fried in fresh oil. Given I arrived about 30 mins before closing I'm going to cut them some slack. 3 stars Anyway if I were in the area again, I'd give them another shot.
The ambiance here is very unique, clean and spacious. The staff is nice and helpful if it's your first time here. I got the Matcha Latte and I believe one of their classic latte's. It was water based which is perfect for my stomach and didn't hurt it at all. The cream top made my matcha super creamy and enjoyable since I am not a fan of the strong earthy taste. For food, I got the prosciutto arugula burrata with truffle oil toast and I added avocado. This is my dream toast and I am so happy to discover this place. It was HUGE so I couldn't finish it in one sitting, it filled me up for half of the day with only eating half of it. Nothing was overpowering and all the ingredients balanced well with each other. My boyfriend's ube toast was delicious. Not too sweet and had a nice crunch/ube flavor to it. Hoping to return here when we visit LA again!
Such a cute little spot with clean aesthetic and relaxing vibe. The coffee is delicious , and food as well. For me , they have pretty generous portions, I could finish mine. Also, I like the service , always welcoming. Definitely one of the cafes i recommend to visit whether you want a good coffee, catch up with friends or get work done
A question that I find myself (unfortunately) asking often these days is: why does east side LA have all the best coffee shops? Laveta is a coffeeshop in Echo Park that had been on my list of coffeeshops to try for some time. I was finally able to visit on Boxing Day. Laveta was pretty quiet around 9 am when we arrived, which I thought was because of Christmas. The staff were really nice and our drinks came out quickly. I got the matcha misto here, which I really enjoyed. This consisted of an iced matcha latte with cream sweetened with agave. The matcha was good and the cream wasn't overly sweet. My favorite thing about this place is the aesthetic, which is minimal and neutral. I'd be a regular here if it wasn't on the other side of town.
Really good coffee and breakfast sandwich was really delicious. I see why it's a favorite for this coffee shop. Love the patio got some good work done while enjoying the LA skyscrapers. Thank you Laveta I will be back!
The inside is so cute and simple! They have seats and mini tables around but I wouldn't come here w more than 2-3+ in your party if you want to sit, drink/eat and talk. Laveta latte (left) was surprisingly good. I thought it would be too sweet just based on the color bc I like my coffee strong. Def recommend adding an extra shot for those who are the same. Andante (right) too sweet for my liking bc of the sweet cream but to each their own! Breakfast sandwich with sour dough is so good, just a tiny bit too salty on some bites. this is like private equity matcha. i swear Stagger in ktown has the same exact powdery taste - super unappealing and really sweet, even at 50% sugar. açaí bowl is okay. Yall whatever like this is another generic "aesthetic" cafe frequented by 20/30 year olds there are better quality places in the area. guy who made my matcha was nice to me, as a person
Laveta is a cool spot with a nice atmosphere and plenty of space to hang out. The food looked good, and honestly, this feels more like a place to visit for their food, or one of their iced drinks rather than for a coffee-focused experience. As for the cortado, it was pretty average and not something I'd recommend if you're trying to get a feel for the quality of their coffee program. The drink lacked a lot and I couldn't even identify any of the notes. They also don't offer any mugs either which is a major negative for me especially at a nice place like that. I'd possibly come back to try the food or an iced drink, but if your goal is to evaluate their coffee through a cortado, this probably isn't the place I'd point people toward. Service was pretty straightforward.
If the city of LA were a restaurant or cafe, it would be this: the earthen and industrial aesthetic, people clad in athleisure and designer clothes, overpriced but yummy. The chicken sandwich was a little saucy, but the slaw was a unique, bright touch and a good contrast to the crunchy, juicy chicken. The andante was an overall unmemorable but otherwise enjoyable sweet coffee. I got it less sweet, and for someone who doesn't like sweet things, it ensured with the cream I didn't think it was too sweet. The seating area outside is clean and spacious but inside was a little overstimulating. I wouldn't necessary work here even with the free WiFi, but it's a great place to catch up with friends. Their parking lot is super unoptimized, though.
This is such a unique coffee shop. It feels like a social club with the intimate setting of stone rock seating and people gathered around in a circle. People are chatting, studying, reading, etc. This coffee shop is small but beautiful. The look and feel of this coffee shop is like being in RH, the upscale furniture store. I loved the jazz music in the background as well; it was a real vibe. I ordered the Laveta latte which is espresso mixed with maple syrup and milk. It was delicious and tasted so unique. I like that the syrup was the main sweetener here and not sugar/simple syrup. It's natural and provides a different taste. I actually want to copy this drink myself! I'll definitely come back again!
I was really looking forward to the ube latte and have a couple thoughts: I loved the ube latte with a shot of espresso and cold foam. The espresso balances out the sweetness because by itself it's a very sweet cereal milk. Knowing the espresso was good I would assume their other coffee and lattes would be really good as well. The other drinks we got were a chai latte and Hojicha tea and they were not very good. The chai just tasted like milk with warm spices and the Hojicha was ok not great. I know these are just non-coffee options to offer on the menu but they are not good enough to order in place of coffee. The staff was very cool and nice, drinks came out fairly fast for the crowd we had too. Main point is come for the coffee and not the other drinks. Also, they have a whole food menu and seating outside that we haven't explored yet!
We arrived in LA late Friday night and we're staying in the Echo Park area... On Saturday morning we hit Yelp looking for a great place to get coffee and breakfast. Laveta did not disappoint! I almost missed it entirely as I went inside and it looked like a cool daytime club more than an eatery. The coffee was spectacular, the service was great and the food was really delicious. Highly recommend their breakfast sandwiches! Don't be intimidated by how cool it looks inside... They're very friendly and happy to help you have a spectacular meal!
Laveta is a super cute minimalistic cafe located close to echo park lake in Los Angeles. They have their own parking lot, which already is an A+. But since it is a small lot, there is street parking all around. They have really cool inside seating as well as outdoor seating. They offer coffee, matcha and teas. But let's not ignore the food they offer, which I highly recommend you try out! I've heard the burger is delicious but haven't tried it because I'm obsessed with their Avacado toast! It's literally the best Avacado I've had! Their coffee is good as well. I've had their iced vanilla latte, which you can't go wrong with. I also enjoyed one of their signature coffee, the laveta. Check it out!

This rating is solely based on the matcha and location. Ordered the matcha misto and matcha latte. This location claims the matcha is ceremonial grade, so I was expecting to get a high quality matcha taste and let me tell y'all I was disappointed. The matcha was not strong in taste, it tasted like watered down matcha. The cup is filled with ~75% ice, so my matcha lost flavor so fast. The drink filled half the cup and the other half was creamy top. The agave creamy top was very thick and flavorful, this was honestly the best part of the drink. The matcha latte was the better option, as it did have a more noticeable matcha taste, but it was still very watered down. The cup was also filled with too much ice. The location has a cute minimalist vibe. With plenty of seating on a Saturday around 11am-1pm. There's only 4 parking spots available with an additional handicap parking spot. The nice thing about this location is that there is plenty of street parking. The service was good. I might give this location another try but I will order coffee instead of the matcha as I was disappointed. read more
Such a great brunch spot to catch up with friends. Ample outdoor seating. There's also indoor seating with outlets for those who want to do some work. Drinks were tasty and not watered down or overly sweet. Can't wait to comeback and try the Ube one. Food was sooo good. I had the prosciutto toast and my friend had the chicken and waffles. Waffles were ube flavored. Parking lot to the side of the business. Definitely give this place a try! read more
Laveta is in the cut. The drinks always hit. I've only had the ube latte here, but I mean. That's all I needed to know. Iced is best because it comes with this foam. The foam is where it's at. When the ube comes thru, ohhhhhhwee. This adorable chic hole in the wall is a go. The ambiance is ambiance'ing. There's seating inside while you wait for your order. Tap pay is available. The service is solid, but impersonal. I appreciate that there's a private parking lot available making pulling up and out essentially effortless. Their price points are low compared to a lotta other spots in the area and overall given the current economical climate. That goes a long way in the city. read more
Laveta is on my top 3 coffee store on the east side! So wabi sabi, love it! The aesthetics are everything, you feel calm and grounded! I love the ube latte, hot or iced. You need to be cautious since your mouth would be pink after the drink lol. Bowls are good as well. read more

WOW! this coffee shop is a must! I am in awe of the interior & the coffee at this spot. everything is simple and appealing. The barista is sweet and can make a bomb cup of coffee! The matcha & vanilla latte were perfection! The interior is so beautiful (attached some photos) My friend always would drive by this place & want to go, I'm glad we finally did! this is a perfect place for a coffee date or to go do some work on your computer. I'll be coming here every time I'm in LA now! read more

I live walking distance from Laveta but I'm not really a coffee drinker so I mainly come here for the food or to bring people here that like coffee. I love the ube waffles! Both versions are good - the fried chicken and the plain version. The avocado toast is hearty - on a thick slice of bread, well seasoned avocado and salad on top. I was surprised to see it fill up the whole takeout box! Everyone who works at Laveta is super friendly from my experience and they are quick to make drinks but sometimes it can take a while to get your food. I waited 20min to receive my ube waffle and had to check with them about receiving my order. It was worth the wait b/c it was freshly made and delicious. On my past visits I've tried the açaí bowl, mushroom porridge, breakfast croissant sandwich, prosciutto toast which are all delicious but a bit pricy. As a non regular coffee drinker I really like the Andante - iced cold brew with oat milk, agave sweet cream. I'm obsessed with the sweet cream that comes with the drink hehe. I'm usually a matcha drinker but I prefer to make my own at home because the ones I've tried here are not as good as their coffee drinks. read more

Matcha with sweet cold foam, the Laveta burger and prosciutto toast. Everything was extremely good! It had a cute little sitting area inside and outside which was great. Service was good and easy due to their buzzer/pager system which was great. I could relax and sit outside rather than stand and wait for my food inside. read more

Amazing! I always find myself back at Laveta after a nice brunch with the girls. Such a minimalistic and aesthetic interior that is perfect for tea time with the girls! My go to drink is the ube latte and I make sure to ask for a shot of espresso to balance out the sweetness! The matcha latte is also such a staple with a creamy tone and deep rich matcha flavor! Make sure to get there before closing time cause they tend to run out of menu items on busy days! read more
Dear Laveta, I'm totally open to some awesome coming my way. Without further delay let's begin this cafe shop review. Laveta (est. 2019) is a small artisan coffee shop in Echo Park section of Los Angeles. They offer a collection of coffee, tea, coffee bags and breakfast items. Their exterior and interior were polished contemporary mausoleum concrete with minimal decor; indoor layout design was modestly spacious but has very limited capacity. We have been curious to try this cafe for a few months and today we decided to check them out. We arrived on a cool sunny morning. We were greeted nicely by a young male barista and we ordered a Flat White coffee (milk+ sweetener) and Ube waffle. Their flat white coffee (6 oz) was delightful and perfectly crafted; ube waffle (with berries) was banal and bland despite having syrup on it. UW's price doesn't really reflect food quality. Service was modest and on point. Staff (male barista and cashier) were affable, competent and professional. For some items, prices were above market value. Free Wifi available. Free parking lot albeit extremely limited to seven vehicles. Street parking is available but extremely difficult to find a spot. I was fully aware of past and present comments by customers about some of Laveta's white staff behavior was racist against POC. But we never felt nor experience it during our visit. Sure the vast majority of their customers were caucasians but we didn't feel out of place and in fact we saw diverse customers during our visit. In this voluminous review, I'd give food (ube waffle) quality a one star and a three star for coffee (flat white), staff and service. Overall, I had a good order experience and enjoyed my coffee but detest their breakfast waffle. I'd recommend this coffee shop and will try another drink next time. read more

I really wanted to like this place and have enjoyed their ube latte w/ espresso and oat milk, and have often posted about it and raved about it, but on a more recent visit as I had brought some family and friends to this spot, I couldn't help but notice the terrible service. It was an average Sunday morning, people lined up in their cold stone interior. I noticed a fellow POC couple sitting across from us and they looked like they waited for their food and drinks for a long time. They also looked visibly uncomfortable as everyone else was seated around. We waited for our order of 3 of the same ube latte drinks, and it had to be a good 15-20 minutes before we heard anything. Found our drinks just sitting there and they hadn't bothered to call out a name or let us know, even if we were right in front of them. The staff was also friendlier to their "regulars" and white clientele. I noticed a certain discomfort and cold shoulder, taking longer to serve us POC and rushing to give others their food or drinks. I then went to Yelp to see if my hunches were right and, yeah... I'm sad to hear this shop gentrified the Echo Park area which is home to many Latinx and POC. In a place like LA and so close, so heartbreaking to hear their racism and poor attitude towards us POC and profiting with ethnic/minority food and drinks. I'd advise not supporting this business. I had an icky feeling after my visit, which wasn't my first, and I won't be back. read more
Found this place sporadically the other weekend and it looked super cute. It was! Quite a busy little spot. The barista was super nice and helpful in recommending some food. I had the horchata and the mango pesto rice bowl. Both were so good. Will definitely be back! read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Parking is always a breeze with their own lot near the entrance. My go-to order includes the ube or matcha and cauliflower bowl. The bowl is such an interesting mix of sweet (the pumpkin purée) and salty (of the cauli). The patio is a solid spot to vibe out on a lazy morning. Definitely a favorite for its great atmosphere and tasty bowls! read more

Laveta Coffee Shop in Los Angeles serves up delightful lattes, amongst other delicious drinks and foods (which I'm yet to try) in a charming, cozy atmosphere. It's the perfect spot for a quick caffeine fix or a relaxing coffee break. The only downside is its early closing time, which can be a disappointment for those looking to enjoy a late afternoon or evening coffee. read more

The staff is polite. Thank you! The ambiance is minimalist Japanese if I had to guess. The prosciutto toast NEEDS more prosciutto & less balsamic. The ingredients are well thought out; it's just the quantities lack balance. I get the matcha misto every time. The sweet foam is perfectly delicate, and the matcha is unsweetened which is how I drink matcha generally. read more

I'm actually so incredibly disappointed I got the matcha Misto, there was almost zero cream, and the milk was frozen!!! like I'm not kidding the cup had a chunk of ice in it like they had in the freezer for an hour and just took it out and gave it to me. it tasted so watered down and almost like the milk was rancid too. this was the worst matcha I've had and I was so looking forward to it based on other reviews :( read more
This cafe's aesthetic is everything I wish my home looked like. It's minimalist and in the best way with lots of functional seating space. Now the coffee itself wasn't my favorite in LA but it's definitely good enough to come back. Their ube wasn't overly sweet which was nice but there isn't anything that really stood out with it. It's a solid coffee shop and a great place to check out if you're looking for some design inspo and bonus you leave with a decent latte. read more
Laveta is modern yet cozy with great coffee & bites! There's some seating indoors and a nice little patio on the side! The coffee is smooth and not overly sweet which can be hard to find in a flavored latte! I loved the iced vanilla latte with oat milk. Their food was delicious- we split chicken & ube waffles and French toast! Definitely will be back! read more
Really enjoyed the iced latte and ube waffle I had the day I visited. The outdoor seating is surprisingly spacious with ample shade from the trees. Service was quick given the amount of food that needed to be prepared. I was given a ring on my handheld bell system when my food and drink was ready. There is a small parking lot but you can also find street parking up the alley. read more

Soooo soo good. Ordered the Iced Orchata Latte with the chicken & waffles - you won't regret this one. The waffles are sooo soft filled with this light semi sweet cream- not too sure but it was yummy. They served it with a side of gravy for the chicken. The mixture of maple syrup and gravy sauce was genius never had chx and waffles served with gravy. My bf ordered to breakfast sandwich which we split both plates so try them both. His sandwich was also yummy. The thick glazed maple is my fave part. The entire sandwich is BOMB; order with a croissant. The outshoot dinning also has a nice view of downtown LA. The aesthetics is just a nice big bid to this coffee shop ... right across from Gra. Definitely returning to order up come more food! read more

This coffee shop is very aesthetically attractive. Minimalist, simple and warm. The interior is all concrete, even the benches with birch wood tiny tables and a concrete ordering counter. Right at the entrance you can see some lights dangling, the only decor attraction in the entire place. I'm not sure what it is, but everything about the interior was simple, yet so inviting and relaxing. Oh yes, how can I forget, there were some dry shrubs by the wall that added some warmth to the place. They serve drinks and foods, their menu is actually very well thought out and have lots of options. I got the matcha misto and also an ube latte. Both drinks were really good and did not have an after taste (which happens sometimes with some drinks!) I really appreciated the clean and quality taste of both drinks. Lavetea has a parking lot but limited spots, you can park on the streets if it's full. There is also a side patio outdoor dining area. Super cute coffee shop/cafe. read more
Visited laveta for a quick morning brunch and was pleasantly surprised! The interior is really sleek with seating outside as well. I ordered the Andante and the sweet cream foam with a touch of sea salt was quite good. My friend also ordered the matcha with sweet scream and also really enjoyed it. The food took around 30 minutes, but there I was actually really pleasantly surprised! Their food is yummy! I got the breakfast sandwich with sourdough and it was great. Would definitely order again. As for the acai bowl, I might skip, but my friend go their burger and it was delicious also! read more

called to make sure they were open on new year's & came to an empty cafe LOL everything about this place is aesthetic & their matcha latte is currently my #1 matcha :') you can taste more of the milk in their matcha which i like! their croissant breakfast sandwich was a little bit greasy, but still good! cute place to study (they have outlets around the inside of the cafe & its v convenient to access), seating outside, & v aesthetic place for pics :) can't wait to come back! read more

We visited Laveta on a little day trip out to LA. The service was friendly and fast. On the left is an iced Ube Latte with a shot of espresso and no further adjustments. There was a mild sweetness that helped enhance the ube flavor that worked well together as a refreshing mid-morning pick me up. On the right is the Andante which is cold brew with maple syrup and sweet cream that is topped with mocha powder and sea salt. While my drink was delicious I would definitely recommend the Andante over it. There are a few seats and tables inside but the outside patio has larger tables in addition to the bathroom. Overall 5/5 and will hopefully be returning soon. read more

Came here on a day out, will say that parking is a bit of a challenge. They have a very small parking lot but if you don't mind parking, there is street parking on a slope. Drinks are pretty good. We got the horchata drink and an ube latte. They are mildly sweet, which is good for people who don't like overwhelmingly strong flavors. We got the french toast, it's a little underwhelming. The bread is good but I could only taste scrambled egg if I don't use the syrup and when I use the syrup, it's a little much. But hey, that's just me. read more

Waiting for my oil change found Laveta on Yelp. Walked to this disclosed but not really building on the corner or the street. Saw a man waiting outside, then actually looked at the building. It has a parking area, more modern looking. Inside was so clean, chill and cute vibe. Menu is on a tripod easel, listing food and beverages. I had tried the crispy chicken sandwich with French fries. The chicken was moist and crispy, topped with an apple coleslaw. The fries were crispy salted full of flavor. For my drink selection tried their signature laveta latte iced. I'm wired haha it has oatmilk which is a bonus for me. They do have a patio seating area. Follow all Covid restrictions. Customer service was really welcoming. They have so much more menu items I'm excited to try! read more

Great ambiance, easy parking, and very friendly staff. Extremely dog friendly cafe, they even have treats and individual water bowls for your dog (communal bowls risk whooping cough). I got the andante and it was a delicious latte, the ube lattes were super yummy too. Bonus points for the killer music, very much appreciate the "no requests" sign read more

What is the seating situation? I see little benches but no table. Was this just for Covid times or is it still like that?
Hey! They have a small amount of indoor and outdoor seating with tables. I had no issue finding a table when I was there recently. I'd say a small group is best.
Is there an easier way to read the menu besides the customer photos which are not very clear?
