can't complain about their stock. they have tons of ammo and no limits on what you buy. the staff is knowledgable and pleasant and answer any questions and make suggestions for a better purchase. with so many other places out of ammo most of the time, i have gone here and stocked up. wasnt until i got home that i noticed a 9 mm 50 round box i had purchased the day before was $24.99 and at lax was $36.99. my 12 gauge 00 buck 12 pellets was twice as expensive. only problem....where i had purchased the ammo at the better prices limits everything to a single box. so if just getting your hands on some ammo is more important than the price you pay? this is your store. read more

Started buying my ammo from LAX after California put the bam on mail order. Although I miss the convenience of getting ammunition mailed to my door. This store is convenient and fast. COVID times being what they are ammo supply is very hard to find right now. I've been all over North SD County looking for 12-gauge shotgun shells with no luck. Called down to LAX to ask about their supplies - employees were extremely helpful and had what I needed! They put some aside for me when I said I was on my way there. These guys do offer ammo for a good price to be honest. They have ammo in stuck for all the calibers I have 5.56mm, 9mm, 12 gauge, and 30-06 S.F. They definitely have others calibers. Before my step father told me about these guys, it was hard AF to buy a pack of 20 rounds of 30-06 S.F for less than $35. Thank goodness these guys offer it for $25 or less. The customer service is spot on and the way they run things there is pretty smooth. Visit these guys whenever you have a chance. read more

Great prices on ammunition though as another reviewer mentioned there is a lack of selection as far as manufacturers are concerned. My main gripe here is the customer service, the staff can be condescending and rude if you do not know every little facet of ammunition or the price for that matter. Purely on the customer service alone is why I will not be returning to LAX Ammunition, I would rather pay $50-$70 more per 1,000 rounds at my local gun shop, at least they don't patronize their customers. My husband and I were looking for ammo and since we haven't purchased any in a long while, we had many questions regarding which ammo is best for defense as opposed to target practice and range use. Great ammunition dealer! Go in a few times a month and usually pick up a few hundred rounds of ammunition. The owner is always laid back we usually get to talking about day to day life and always leave with a great attitude and a awesome deal. One of the few times that he's not present at the store (family vacation I think) there was another man there, all strict and proper, he introduced himself as the other business partner and right off the back started to bad talk the man I usually deal with and just kept badmouthing him while I was there. Calling the other owner names and just all around bad experience, there was another man there, not entirely sure if he worked there or not but he was also just a guy that was rude. They close way too early, and then I show up 10 minutes before their closing time of 5pm and the gates are locked and lights are out. Too bad. If they were open later so people that work during the week could get here, I would probably spend a bunch of money here. I used to buy their ammo online all the time and I'm happy they have a San Diego location, but I guess I'll have to buy ammo elsewhere now that you can't buy online and they close before their posted hours. The only complaints I have is the shop hours and parking lot. Their lot is usually pretty full, and they're only open until 5PM. Let me start by saying I am a huge fan of the store I do not live in the San Diego area I live in LA but my company often sends me to work down in San Diego whenever I am sent down there I always try to take the opportunity to visit LAX ammo I believe the guy is the owner that I speak with dude is super cool friendly and always seems to remember that I come often has hooked me up with deals on several occasions given me sale prices of stuff that wasn't even on sale now granted I do spend a decent amount of money on ammo so maybe that's why he's super cool but all that being said I enjoy the store and go out of my way to visit every time I'm in San Diego they don't always have specialty ammo I am looking for but when I'm looking for bulk range ammo these guys are awesome read more

LAX hands down the place to buy ammo. Never short on inventory with any caliber. Prices you won't find anywhere else. Staff is always respectfully. Their reloads are also great. Great spot in easy central location to get my ammo. Owner is a nice guy and always has the various calibers in stock for a solid price. Definitely a better way to go than Walmart where is always have to hope they have my caliber in stock (which was rare for the AR) and then search the store forever trying to find an employee.
