Loved my experience at layaly. Their food is a bit pricey but it is definitely flavorful. The rice was the star in our dish! It's so buttery and fragrant with cardamom. Hommos and pita were great but it would be better if the pita was warmed a bit. They offer a wide selection of Alcohol and they have hookah for a good price ($25). They also have live music which was nice. Everyone was super friendly. We will definitely be coming back. read more

Best Mediterranean food in the city! Everything we ordered was amazing, portions were large, and the service was superb. We ordered the appetizer maza platter and had the best hummus, falafel, and babaghannouge we've had in Atlanta. The special for the night was Mossaka and it was the best. The kafta was perfectly seasoned, very tender, and cooked just right. I've never had basmati rice with so much flavor. We were joking after dinner that we want to go to their house for Thanksgiving! The server told us that her father owned other restaurants in the city that were voted best Mediterranean restaurants in Atlanta 20+ years ago. In his retirement, he wanted to own another restaurant. A great Mediterranean place that we've been wanting to try and finally had opportunity to go, although they are not open for lunch unfortunately. We were greeted right away, welcomed into the warm atmosphere and got our appetizer trio of hummus, tabouleh and falafel in the works. Highly recommend. Our waiter was super attentive, incredibly nice and very well versed on the menu. Which in Atlanta is saying a lot! (If you can get a waiter anywhere in Atlanta to approach your table under 5 minutes upon being seated it is a phenomenon.) We ordered Chicken Kabobs and the Beef Shawarma-both excellent. The food came out timely and fresh. Next time I will definitely try the snapper. My favorite thing was the Arabic Coffee with espresso and hints of cardamon. I'm still flying! I would go by just to get this coffee to go on any given day. Lastly, we had the Chocolate Baklava with vanilla ice cream which hit the spot. I truly hope this restaurant does well as it's a welcome addition to this side of Brookhaven/Chamblee/Doraville area. For those complaining of higher prices this place is on par with any other place in Atlanta as it's so expensive to eat out anywhere IMO. Don't be fooled by the photos as the lighting is low so they didn't come out the best, but visuals are better than none at all. This small, charming restaurant offers some of the most nuanced attention to flavor to be found in mediterranean standards in the city. The grape leaves were to die for as was the fattoush. The lentil soup is great for a rainy winter night.The wine list has some lovely adventurous options...great to see and taste, and I will try the rosewater gimlet at some point soon. I noticed a sign for a new restaurant while driving down Clairmont so I decided to check them out one Saturday. It's right off Clairmont so very easy to find. The parking lot is small (there may be more spots in the back but I don't know for sure). The interior is one large open space with a bar at the center. I was greeted quickly upon arrival. I ended up getting the Musakhan as I'd seen some pictures of it and decided to get my food to go. The owner/hostess (not sure) explained to me that the chicken was cooked rotisserie style. I waited for about 10 minutes for my food which ended up being very good. The chicken was tender, juicy (bone in), and well seasoned and was served on top of some pita bread. The juices from the chicken soaked the pita which was also really good. Overall, I'd recommend trying them out if you're in the area. read more

After I read the reviews, I decided to give it a shot. This place was so far above and beyond my expectations. The food is incredibly fresh, the staff super helpful and super informative. If you are lucky enough to have Sara as your wait staff, you'll totally enjoy her and all of her recommendations. From the appetizers and then the entrees and the Turkish coffee, it was just wonderful. And then... Sara brought vegetarian baklava. Easily the best baklav I've ever had. The flavor is soft and it's not super sweet so you really get the great taste of the soft but flaky dough itself and it's just amazing. read more

We had the Layaly Maza plate which had the most delicious falafel I have ever had, baba ghanoush, hummus and tabouleh. The Musakhan was extremely flavorful and didn't stand a chance. It was gone before I had a chance to take a photo. the chicken was succulent and the sautéed onions were delicious. The baklava was also the best I've had. We just had a lovely experience here! I'd noticed a new restaurant on Claremont Rd driving in to work and convinced some workmates that we should try it. When we walked up, the owner greeted us to say they don't open until 5. But as we turned to leave he said "but why not come on in and we'll open for you" ! Saw all the pretty lights outside so decided to give it a shot. I've never in my life tasted Arabic restaurant food so authentic, I swear it felt like I was eating at my moms house. I lOVE Mediterranean Food and remain on a quest to find the best in the Atlanta area. I read the reviews for Layaly and absolutely was excited to try it. A few things. Parking is a challenge so be prepared for that. Upon arrival we sat at the bar briefly before our table was ready. Bar tender and service at the bar was excellent. Thank you. We were seated at our table. No menus were given. Had to ask to get the menus. No silverware and napkins were provided. We got those from the table next to us. After 10 minutes of waiting someone finally came by the table to get our drink orders. Another 10-15 minutes and we got our drinks and placed our food order. We waited and waited for apps. In fact people that were seated ahead of us and larger groups than the two of us were getting their food ahead of us. That occurred at two tables. So we finally for our apps. Falafel and hummus. The hummas was mediocre and the falafel was the same. Disappointed in both. I ordered the shrimp for my main meal and it was really good. Service was poor (except for the bar). Apps were mediocre and main dish was good. Nikolas closed during Covid and I suppose I was spoiled by his extraordinary food. Glad we tried Layaly but likely won't return. read more

We had high hopes for this place it had good reviews so we gave it a shot and unfortunately it let us down. We got a to go order and when we got home open up our pita for our hummus and there was mold all over the pita. We were skeptical to continue eating the food so we did with caution. We both got Gyro wrap and they were okay nothing to rave about. Just kinda grossed out from our first experience. No need to go back. They were also rude on the phone and in person. I'll start with the positives. Very good food. It's fresh, great flavors, good quantity. Service is friendly, but informal. Things that can improve- Pricing I thought the pricing for the dishes , and drinks in particular, were higher than where I'd like to see them. Tip charge We were a party of 8 so there was an automatic tip added to the check. Yes, many restaurants do that, but they also tell you on the menu that will occur. That was not the case here. I'm all for leaving a tip, but I also like good communication. Credit card processing What annoyed me the most though was the credit card usage fee that they passed onto the customer and each cc had its own specific percentage that was charged (we are talking anywhere from 4-8%) I'm sorry, but as a former restaurant owner, there are fees that you eat as the cost of doing business and not nickel and dime your customers. Again, no mention anywhere. And as an aside, the waiters could be more formal with their handling of food, and more formal uniform. It was a nice evening with a group of great friends, but to spend close to $450, I just expected a bit better experience. read more
