I've been coming to this bakery for years when it was adjoined to the restaurant which I loved. I thought the restaurant and bakery worked so well together but as I entered today I see that the restaurant is no longer and the bakery has changed it's name., I found out it's still run by the same owners. Since theres renovations going on it feels a bit unfinished with lots of emptiness at the moment. However, the quality of their baked goods remains as solid as ever. I'm excited to see the new look once the renovations are complete, but for now, I'm just glad that the quality of their baked goods remain the same. read more

The main staff member greeted us with a smile and explained the recent rebranding and renovations with the dolce bakery to layered cakerie ! The other staff members didn't seem really happy to be there and could've greeted the other customers with a smile. Nevertheless the shop was clean and new the decor was shiny and so so cute ! On to the desserts, they were so so yummy. The linzer cookies are now my favorite!! The tiramisu was addicting as well! I didn't get to try my red velvet cheesecake cookies but from what i've heard from so i gave them to was that they were really good. The smore cookies were super rich and thick. What happened to this place. Never been more disappointed for something. I have bought cakes from here the last few years probably since 2017 or 18. I bought a cake from here twice. One for my mom and one for my boyfriend. Today I decided to buy another cake for him for his birthday and what the heck. The website menu states that cheesecake is original with a graham cracker crust. Let me tell you that is no graham cracker crust. It tastes nothing like a real graham cracker. It's not sweet, and there was no texture. It looked like undercooked phyllo dough. We also got the chocolate Amore cake slice, and that was the one that I bought for my mom years ago. I even have a picture of her blowing the candles out on it, but the frosting in the cake was awful. The ganache was not soft at all, and when I put my fork into it, it was so hard and that the entire cake layers smashed, and all of the filling came out on the sides. Also, it tasted like nothing. Literally, I could not taste chocolate I could not taste any flavor in it except fake frosting. It felt like it was full of Crisco, the mouth feel with the grease layering ruined all of it. I took two bites, one to try it, the second one to verify. It was put back in the fridge and I'll leave it for him. Something happened with this bakery, and it wasn't good. read more

I've ordered cakes from this place a few times. My most recent experience wasn't good. I was extremely disappointed with their service. I order a 2 tier cake for 50 people, strawberry cream on top and red velvet on bottom. I gave the designer some inspiration photos. I did not want fondant so I went with butter cream and a cascade of balls down the side of the cake (like colors bubbles going down the cake). I was charged $370 and had to provide my own decorations (balls and alcohol bottles) which I did purchase and dropped off 3 days before the event as instructed by the designer. I paid the cake in full the day I ordered it. The day of my event, I sent my son to pick up the cake. Luckily he sent me a photo of the cake as they were leaving the store. The cake was not at all what we had agreed to and what I paid for. I've included the inspiration photos and a photo of the unfinished cake in this review. I had to have my son turn around go back to the store. I called the cake designer to complain and she offered no apology or explanation as to why half of the decorations were missing, she just said they would fix it. My son had to wait an hour for the cake which made him late to the party. Overall awful experience. If you plan on ordering from them, take my advice and ask for a Pic of the cake prior to picking it up. Make sure you get what you paid for! read more

What a gem in the IE! I was looking for mini cakes for a friends bday and after yelp search found this place. I was floored with their selection. I ended up getting two of the most beautiful mini cakes, cheesecakes and a cream puff. The prices are incredibly reasonable and every single item was delicious. Purchased a cake for a birthday party and I'm so grateful I found Layered Cakerie! It was easy to place an order over the phone with the patient and knowledgeable person who took my call. I picked up the next day and I received the same attention and friendly customer service when I arrived. Now, besides the attention the place was very clean and wide variety of choices, I ended up getting the crème brûlée and it was to die for ! So tasty. Bakeries are my weakness and this one did not disappoint!! I had to control myself so I just got a few things. The Mexican Hot Chocolate cookie sandwich with dulce de leche (caramel) filling was Ahhhmazing!! I need more!! I also tried the Raspberry linzers, cinnamon twists and almond cookies which were all good. I also got the Banana buttercup cupcake and Chocolate ganache tart. I loved the tres leche texture of the cupcake. The tart was tasty but I would have loved more ganache and less cream (?) topping. I was not a fan of that cream topping. Ordered on the phone and they had great service - informative, patient, friendly, and accommodating. I had a special request for the writing on it and they made sure it was just right. Paid over the phone and it was ready to go when I went to pick it up. There is a huge display of all their cakes and dessert when you go in, everything looks super delicious and the store is clean and modern. We tried the chocolate fresca (strawberry) and it was spongey, not too sweet, and everyone loved it. Will definitely be trying out the other cakes in the future. read more

I ordered my sister's baby shower cake from here and it turned out great. I was initially disappointed when I came to pick it up because one of the design elements was done differently than I had requested. They apologized and had all of their bakers drop what they were doing to fix it asap. The cake was two tiers. We had strawberry Fresca on top and red velvet on bottom. Both were delicious, but in my opinion the red velvet was truly a standout. I got so many compliments on it at the shower and I'll definitely be getting my cakes here from now on! read more

I went in and got a full chocolate amore cake here on a whim for someone's birthday because I didn't want to get a grocery store cake. We all loved it. You always think a chocolate cake is going to be overwhelmingly rich--this was perfect. Moist cake, dense but pleasant crumb. Mousse between layers, really nice ganache on top. Usually I can only have a few bites of a chocolate cake but this one is dangerous - I could down a pretty fat slice of this really quick Worth the price and the staff is super sweet. The owner is also taking $$ donations for the fire victims in Pasadena! They have coffee and stuff too, will have to try it next time. This is my new go to place for cakes. Definitely would change my score if the coffee flavor was there. My new cake shop and it'll be yours too! Absolutely loved their cakes. I was last minute cake shopping and found this gem. They have whole cakes, beautifully decorated, ready to go! They also have this option to build your own cake, you pick 8 slices of cakes (whatever flavor you want) and they put them together to form a whole round cake. Before doing that I decided to try a few of the different flavors so opted for the carrot cake (Easter themed), slice of mocha, and slice of almond rum. They were all a hit with my family. The mocha was 10/10 the best one (so far). They were all delicious but the mocha was at the top. They are just the right amount of sweetness, very moist, and flavorful. I was looking to try a new place for a birthday cake and stumbled onto Layered Cakerie. The selection all looks amazing and it actually took me a while to decide on the flavor to go with, but in the end I went with the safe selection in their Strawberry Fresca. I think I found my favorite flavor! I don't know why I waited this long to try it! The mixed berry tres leches is spot on! I ordered it for my daughter's 7th birthday and it was a hit for the kids and adults alike! The cake part was super moist but not runny so it wasn't any messier than regular cake and the sweetness was PERFECT! Not overly sweet but not bland at all and the custard and whipped frosting also had great flavor and were the perfect compliment. I love that their showcase cakes are simple yet elegant. They make great cakes for any occasion or you can add bits of your own decor if you don't want to go the custom route. I was trying to find a bakery that will sell cake balls since Sam's club doesn't take pre orders and can't guarantee any items will even come. I found this place on Yelp with great reviews and selection so I thought to check this place out. I called in advance to ensure if they take preorders which they did. I decided to come here to try out the cake ball in advance so I know which to go with. When I got there, they have so many dessert choices which I find that awesome. I tried the confetti cake ball, chocolate cake ball, and a slice of Hazelnut Mocha cake. I didn't really like the chocolate cake ball because the flavor wasn't that good and end up realize it was Dark Chocolate. I know some dark chocolate can be good, but this wasn't. However, the confetti was tasty and moist. I decided to go with this one for my work Christmas party and pre ordered the 40 pieces party tray for $55 + tax. I was going to place an additional 10, but it would've been $1.50 each so I didn't as well as I don't even know if my co workers would even eat them. The hazelnut mocha cake was really good. When I came back to pick up my pre order on December 6th, I decided to order vanilla French macaron. I haven't tried a macaron before and been wanting to so I end up ordering the vanilla French macaron too. It was so good! The cake balls displayed really nicely at the Christmas party yesterday. I didn't go with any fancy design because they said if there is a design you want they do charge extra. With the tight budget I had, I couldn't do fancy design. Some of my co workers that did try the cake ball said it was tasty and even rated it at a 10. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is plenty of parking since it's in a plaza. The price is decent so it isn't bad just coming here for 1 dessert to spoil myself. Haha I will definitely come back here to try there many different desserts. Can't wait! read more

My husband wanted a cheesecake for his birthday so since we were in the area we stopped by. We ended up with the build your own cake and it was so amazing. The Oreo cookie cake was my favorite. The employees were very friendly and we will definitely be back. They have a variety of items but we only purchased the cake. My husband, my son and I finished the cake within two days It was pretty busy in there on a Sunday afternoon so be prepared to wait a little. A few months ago when I ordered a custom cake it wasn't the same. Someone stood with me at the counter very impersonal. The previous year the baker sat with me and worked with my idea and made great recommendations.
