While in the area checked out yelp for lunch recommendation and saw Laylas Falafels with good reviews and I'm totally into unique foods - IT WAS AMAZING! my friend and I LOVED the welcoming family like staff. We ordered the Laylas Shawerma toasted wrap (a combo of marinated chicken & lamb shawerma) and a chicken shawafel toasted wrap (a combo of falafels and chicken shawerma) and we each are 1/2 of each. Large portions! Oh- we started with a lb of hummus and some warm pita bread - YUM! These toasted wraps were FULL of flavor I'm sorry I can't tell what was in them, but 5* all the way! Perfect balance of flavors and textures. If I didn't live an hr away I'd be a regular for sure! I walked to the back counter to thank the chefs that were making the food and wrapping wraps and thanked them for such a wonderful lunch and I got big smiles from guess who - LAYLA herself! I left with a couple pieces of baklava that I will be munching on tonight - can't wait. Thank you all at Laylas Falafel - hope to see you again soon! I'm surprised at all the great reviews of Layla's Falafel. My husband and I live in Fairfield and had ordered take out from Layla's last saturday night for 4 (a couple friends of ours and ourselves). The falafels were very dry, the hummus was mediocre and the sandwiches/wraps were just very average. The prices are rather high for this restaurant as well. We much prefer Gyro Grill right up the street or Safita's on Post Road off of exit 21 on I-95. read more

My family and I went to Layla's Falafel for my birthday dinner. I wanted to go to an authentic Middle Eastern restaurant because I spent much of my childhood in Middle Eastern countries. The reviews online were great and so we went with high hopes. Layla's Falafel exceeded our expectations. Though a small place, our party of six felt comfortable and right at home. The staff was amazing and friendly. The food was delicious-definitely some of the best Middle Eastern food I've had in the U.S. I couldn't get enough of the fresh grape leaves! The chef even sent an extra plate of grape leaves over to me, on the house, because it was my birthday and he noticed I really liked them. Not only was my lamb shwarma delicious, but the hummus and garlic sauce was to die for. We also really loved the fresh whole wheat pita bread. My birthday dinner was so special and delightful! They kept sending extra food over to our table in generous Arab fashion. We were even given coffee after dinner and the staff brought a birthday piece of baklava with a candle and song! Quick bite, big taste, that's how I would describe Layla's in Fairfield, CT. There aren't a lot of seating in this location but that doesn't bother us - we just do take out and enjoy our food in the comfort of our home. The sandwiches are generous portions. The falafels are good, but I prefer the lamb shawarma the best. We have also ordered food for parties, and they are very accommodating with our requests. The Falafel wraps from Layla's are unmatched in the area. I don't even understand how they are that good. The lamb shawarma can be very good as well, but I've had some bad experiences with tons of gristle where there should be meat. The amount of food for your dollar is amazing here though. I usually love this place. I was craving a chicken shavafel and the lady got the order wrong and gave me a chicken wrap. When we told her that the order was wrong she tried to give me falafel on the side. I didn't want it on the side. I want it inside the wrap. Then she gets pissed off and shoves the falafel at he bottom of the wrap. I was under the impression that she made a new wrap for me but I ate the whole wrap without tasting a single falafel and I get to the bottom and there are the falafels. Really? Never went back after that. She had an attitude and she didn't even apologize for messing up my order. There is usually a tall guy with glasses there and he's nice. read more

The food is really good, for me that I came from Lebanese family is almost paradise but... The service is terrible, even they serve the platters without the ingredients or incomplete!! The consistency achieved in their flavors, textures and overall food is outstanding. The Hummus, Baba Ganoush, Tabouli, Garlic spread, falafels are all Amazing! The meats are always incredibly tender and juicy. For meats from a cuisine that are typically cooked well through,to not be dry and hard speaks volumes of there kitchens technique and skills and their owner's commitment to Excellence. Like I said I have enjoyed Layla's for years because their flavor and foods are consistently excellent.
