Came here at 10pm and it was poppin! If you need a late night hang out or study this is the perfect place. It was plenty of seating inside and I love the decor. They have carpets on the ceilings and booths to sit in, perfect for photo op. Feels like I transported into the Aladdin movie. They sell jewelry and other merchandise leading up to the register. I got the caprese avocado toast. It was $12 but the portion was generous. I didn't expect for it to be that big. Also got the upside down strawberry matcha. The matcha puree is made in house. The matcha is nice and good balance of bitterness which I love. I don't like it when places sell matcha latte and you can't taste any matcha at all. So this place definitely nailed it. They also plenty of different types of coffee, so I need to come back and try that next time. The staff were really friendly as well and passionate about explaining what's in their drinks.
I've had Laymoon Cafe on my list for a while and finally made my way in May. I arrived early, around 8:00 am and was able to find parking right in front. The staff greeted me as soon as I entered. Wow, the interior is stunning! The details are incredible. I love the mix of modern and traditional. The staff was great in helping me decide what to order. I ordered the following: Baklava latte $8 Spiced zaatar avo toast $15 Baklava $6 Everything was delicious! Though the tiramisu latte is their most popular, they use house-made syrup for the baklava latte and that's music to my ears. It wasn't too sweet either. The spiced zaatar avo toast comes with zaatar, feta, lemon, olive oil, and pomegranate seeds. The flavor was nice and light. I would have liked more avocado, especially for the $15 price tag. The baklava was phenomenal. I savored every bite.
Came here for our book club meetup and we got a really cute booth to accommodate our group. The decor was super cute, and they have a little merch shop with cute items. I ordered the baklava latte as they make the syrup in house (I tried my friend's salted caramel date and that was very creamy and rich). I also got the pistachio chocolate croissant bc I saw so many people with it at their table- the filling was stuffed with chocolate. They were quite expensive (my small drink and pasty were $17). Finding non metered or free parking was impossible; although someone mentioned they do validate for a garage (not sure which one). The food menu was limited, so definitely more of a coffee/snack spot.
Absolutely in awe of this place. Such a beautifully decorated space in Tempe and right near campus. Not a fan of driving in Tempe, it's just so congested/hard to find parking, but it was worth the trip! Would definitely recommend and return to try more of their menu. My tiramisu latte was not the prettiest but it was tasty! Baristas were friendly and helpful when asking questions about their menu.
This cafe is so cute! There were so many tables that even though it was pretty busy when we went, we found a table no problem. Service was quick and we got our drinks within 10 minutes. We ordered a strawberry matcha and a caramelized fig & vanilla matcha. Both were yummy! The matcha isn't super strong but the fig flavor was really good so I didn't mind too much. Beautiful restaurant with great drinks. Comfortable vibe and loved the diverse clientele and Palestine items for sale. Great hangout for students to study or who don't want to go to the Bars. We ordered the rose cardamom latte (delicious), mint lemonade (fantastic), and lebneh toast. Wish they had more food. The lebneh toast was good but a bit overpriced ($12) for a slice of regular toast. Will return!
Immediately go!!!! The cutest place EVER. I love it inside; the vibe and decor really transport you to a middle eastern cafe. Very kind staff and quick to make drinks and food even when busy. It's a large space with lots of tables and booths, and a little market area with jewelry, and other items to buy. Every single drink, matcha and espresso, sounded delicious. I ordered the iced tiramisu latte and zaatar spiced avocado toast. Both were soooo tasty and I would get the both again next visit. Beautiful place, great food and drinks, and Palestinian owned. Go support local and check it out!
Laymoon has been on my list since its grand opening, and I've been waiting for the right time to give it a visit! When you step in, you see a community of people seated all around you. There are study groups, young and older couples, families, individuals working, etc. it feels very coworking-friendly, which is super ideal to me! Gorgeous interior and furniture with middle eastern accents. You walk through some boutique and local merchandise as you find the counter to order. I ordered myself a mango guava matcha. The matcha color was PERRRRRFECT and at first taste, you can tell it was going to be a good one. Once stirred, I got all the flavors, and it was actually heaven, you get mango guava summer goodness, and flavorful matcha to balance. For working: there's a variety of seating and plenty of outlets everywhere. Water station is by the counter. I'd come back again to work!!
Really delicious coffee and food! It's a beautiful and inviting space. I've tried the matcha once but I prefer their coffee drinks, especially the Spanish latte and for food their zaatar bagel is my fave!
WOW the ambience and decor here is immaculate!! I especially love the rugs on the ceiling and the curved seating booth nooks. They also sell some jewelry and other merchandise here. I wanted to try their signature drink so I ordered the caramelized fig matcha. It was delicious and ready pretty quickly despite the line. The interior is very spacious with lots of seating options. I would definitely come back here!
We came in as a spur of the moment stop while we, as locals, just walked around Tempe. The university is out, so maybe it was less crowded than other reviews, however we only waited behind one group to place our order. The flavors on the menu are a little more unique. Which, for me is fabulous. I went for iced vanilla, honey and cinnamon. Which was delicious. My husband ordered the salted caramel. When his name was called the drink was pink. He looked at the label. It's his name. He looked around, he didn't just grab someone else's drink. So, he says to the barista, I think this incorrect. Barista says with a smile, nope definitely not salted caramel. Let me get that remade! I'm not sure where the order went wrong but the barista just handled the mix up like a pro. It was so nice to not be questioned on what/where things went wrong. They just fixed it!
Yay finally got to try out Laymoon! I love how their name is a play on words: laymoon means lemon in Arabic and I appreciate the nod to the moon, a symbol of Islam. Def wanted to come here earlier, during their grand opening, but never made it out to Tempe. I came from Friday prayers at the masjid next door, so I was already parked in the garage and didn't have to worry about that aspect. There was only two pairs ahead of me in line when I visited in the afternoon. The barista taking my order was friendly and efficient as I ordered a mango passion fruit refresher and their laymoon & mint lemonade. I checked out their pastry case and they didn't have too much left since it was already afternoon, but they had a few options to choose from. I got their chocolate croissant, which I've tried from JL Patisserie, and I know it's good. They asked if I wanted it heated up, and I said yes please. I entered my phone number at the register so I could join their rewards program. Prices are on the higher side ($8 for the croissant, $6.50 for 16oz drinks) just as an fyi. The cafe itself is spacious and beautiful. I've seen lots of photos so I already knew what it looked like. It was pretty busy too; lots of folks hanging out, Muslim and not. They have lots of stuff on sale and a bunch of free stickers, so I grabbed some. My drinks and croissant took a few minutes to be ready and I grabbed some lids at the counter. I really like their cups: recyclable and they're rounded at the bottom so they feel nice in your hands. They have a good amount of seating outside and a decent sized patio, which would be lovely during mild weather. I loved my warmed chocolate croissant, just what I wanted. My lemon & mint drink was refreshing and I really appreciate the strong mint flavors, tastes so natural. I tried the mango passionfruit refresher and it was nice as well. Would def come back to support this Syrian & Palestinian owned small business! I wish them much success.
Unique coffee shop with a calming atmosphere. I do recommend checking out this shop outside of the school year. During the school year, the lines are long and you will be waiting potentially 20 minutes or more for what you ordered. I got the rose cardamom latte with oatmilk and it was a fun unique coffee, I have not had anything like it before. The spice is perfectly balanced with the floral taste, and the drink itself is beautiful. I would recommend checking it out if you want something unique. I also got the pistachio Baklava. The baklava was perfectly coated with honey and had a great ratio of pistachio. It was so good I almost went back and ordered another one. Worth the hype! Waited in line for a bit on a Sunday afternoon but hanging out with a friend so it wasn't too bad. We ordered the tiramisu latte, baklava latte, the fig matcha, a piece of baklava, and a pistachio cookie. The drinks were well-made with incredible flavors and good coffee balance. The baklava was decent but the pistachio cookie was an easy 10/10. I preferred the tiramisu latte over the baklava latte and am not normally a matcha girl, but found the fig matcha to be delicious as well! The space inside does have a good amount of seating and we found that people were constantly coming and going, so even though it was full and there was a line, we didn't have trouble snagging seats at a smaller table. read more

I love this coffee shop! If you're looking to support a Palestinian owned coffee shop this is the one! The staff was friendly and amazing and they serve the best matcha and avocado toast, mine had pomegranates and it was such an interesting taste but so delicious. The service was fast and we didn't wait long. They also sell cute handbags, clips and other cute things. The coffee shop is decorated with hanging rugs and mirrors and makes for a beautiful aesthetic and so cozy. I will definitely be coming back. read more
Laymoon is a gorgeous cafe that plays with color and texture throughout the space, from mauve tile backsplash and arched white stone to beautifully draped textile on the ceilings. The best part is the drinks are actually delicious and service is friendly! I went with the caramelized fig matcha and was happy with the quality and amount of matcha in the drink -- especially since the matcha was hand whisked to order. The fig flavor was prominent without overpowering the matcha or being too sweet. The cardamom rose latte was also subtly sweet and fragrant. Laymoon is actually quite large for a coffee shop, with nice little nooks for groups, so while there might be a line, it can definitely handle the traffic. They've also become more efficient than others may have experienced when they first opened -- we arrived around 11am on a Sunday and got our drinks within 20 minutes despite the line reaching the door. We also found free Sunday parking, so it was a great experience overall :) read more

I'm glad I got to try this spot. After all the hype the line wasn't even bad. The service was so friendly and dedicated me on the menu. I ordered a golden matcha. It's very sweet so if that's something you like then it's worth a try. I also tried the rose coffee which was good. The lemonade is yummy too! Lots of seating inside and out as well as all gender bathrooms. The place is decorated so cute with jewelry and other accessories sold. Worth a visit especially for a picturesque spot. read more

I got the tiramisu latte, very tasty. It is definitely more on the sweet side, so if you like dessert drinks, this is perfect. I'm more of a stronger coffee lover, so I'll have to try some other menu drinks to see how those are. We went Saturday morning and it was probably a solid 20-30min wait including the line to order and then to wait for it to come out (especially for tea and pastries). My coworkers got the vegan poptart and the chocolate pistachio croissant and they both said they were absolutely delicious, so those would be recommended as well. Service was nice though and it's really pretty inside, just a little busy. If you have the time to wait a little longer, it's a good spot to grab a bite and drink! read more

Hands my favorite cafe! From the coffee beverages to the vibe! I was visiting the area for work, fortunate to find this place and ended up visiting it everyday I was there. I would try a different drink everyday, all equally fabulous. I even planned my days after my first visit to spend an hour or so there to work because it was so pleasant. They sell gifts and jewelry, which I ended up buying two pairs of earring, they are beautiful, love them! read more
To go to Laymoon Cafe, is to be invited into a home of a Middle Eastern family to enjoy a cup of coffee and a baked good. It is warm and inviting, filled with the laughter in conversations of friends and coworkers, with the scent of warm spices filling the air. I went with my sister during a work break and an early morning pick me up. She ordered the cardamom latte and I got the upside down strawberry matcha. Both were made with care and you could tell the quality of ingredients used. I ordered the chocolate pistachio croissant. I can't wait to have it as a midday treat. I would definitely come back here and I'm glad to have a neighborhood spot that supports a culture and inclusion of Syrian and Palestinian communities. read more
Went on a Saturday afternoon and the wait wasn't too bad. I waited an hour but compared to what I've seen online an hour is actually not that bad lol. The interior is warm, and open with a really nice ambiance and I like the nook for the booth seating. Their tiramisu and fig matcha is what i ordered and honestly were really good. They're perfect because they're not too sweet. I would definitely go back but probably in a few months when the hype dies down. read more
I was really excited for this café to open, so this visit was unfortunately disappointing. While both the drink and food were great, the service left a lot to be desired. I came by around 5 p.m. to support a new local business and expected some wait due to the grand opening, but the process felt unnecessary long. Although the line was moving slowly, what stood out most was the lack of organization behind the counter. The employees seemed confused, and at times came across as a bit rude. After being told I could start ordering, I was interrupted three separate times, either by the employee helping me or by another staff member, which made ordering take about ten minutes. That helped explain why the line was moving so slowly. Plus I was looked over by another staff member to order, instead they took people in line behind me. Altogether, it took nearly an hour to wait, order, and receive my drink, which didn't feel worth it, especially with prices at $7 for a small and $9 for a large. That said, the inside of the café is beautiful and very welcoming. I can see this becoming a great study spot once things calm down, but from a student perspective, it does feel on the expensive side. I hope that as the café settles into its routine, the service becomes more efficient to match the quality of the drinks and atmosphere. read more
Checked this spot out since it was a short walk from our hotel while we were in Tempe. Didn't realize the long line is partially because they just opened. The cafe is beautifully designed and they sell merch you can peruse while waiting. My husband and I had to order our 3rd and 2nd choice of drink, respectively, due to shortages (hopefully they can work on this as they get into the swing of business). I got the lime cooler and greatly enjoyed it - nice apple flavor enhanced with notes of lime, good balance of sweet and tart, and a nice dried like garnish :) Definitely my favorite spot we found during our short trip! read more

Omg this place is exactly what the people of Phoenix needed. What an incredible way to bring culture to downtown Tempe. We waited in line for over an hour on opening day but it was worth it. Such a breath of fresh air to be amongst so much diversity. The cafe is absolutely stunning and so well done. Food- we ordered the Labne toast and the Wabat baklava and omg was it amazing. Drinks: we ordered the baklava latte and cardamom rose latte and both were incredible Misc- each latte was $8 due to the up charge of the alternative milk but it was worth it. Overall not bad for a cafe near Tempe ASU campus! Love how they are open super late and have a lot of seating. Their drinks are not bad especially their coffee. Very popular cafe! They are busy when I got there midday and midweek. There are so many interesting items on the drink menu that I would like to try. I chose their special matcha, with banana date. Even though they had a long line of customers, the drink came out fast. I like the purée banana in my strong matcha. It helps cut down the bitterness of the thick matcha. The honeycomb bread with honey is so addictive. I kept enjoying one honeycomb at a time until they were gone! Definitely I will revisit to try other drinks on their menu, like lemonade and tea. read more

My sister and I were looking for a new study spot and lemme just say: WOW. Catch me at this new cafe from now on. Not only do they serve amazing matcha, they are also open hella late. Unlike other cafes, you can actually taste the matcha. I got the strawberry one, very refreshing and not too sweet which I love because I am not a fan of overly sweet drinks. My sister got the fig matcha. I feel like it's hard nowadays to find a place open to study til 12am on weekdays and 1am on weekends. Most coffee/cafes open early, but what about a place for the night owls? We'll be coming back to this cozy spot again!! read more

I heard all the buzz about the "new" coffee shop in town and I got excited. And I also heard about the long lines when they opened... so I waited until those lines died down a bit, lol. Well, Laymoon Cafe is worth all that buzz! On my first visit, I had a lot of questions about all the delicious sounding drinks... and the staff was friendly and helpful for me in deciding upon my drink order! I wanted to order a pastry too, but they did not have any gluten-free options available when I visited (toward the mid-afternoon on a weekday). Have you ever had a Banana Date Matcha? I have and it is spectacular! PRO TIP: order it less sweet because the banana and date add some natural sweetness. There are tons of comfy seats and tables... some smaller and others better for larger groups! Lots of available outlets too... so bring that laptop and get your studying or work done while enjoying one (or more) of their yummy drinks! 01/26/2026 I had been hesitant to go here if I couldn't be there before they opened to get in line, and especially not on the weekends. Fortunately I had a Monday off, so I got there about 15 minutes before they opened (9am). I would've gotten there sooner but had to find street parking (and pay for it online). There were already 5 people in line ahead of me. The line got much longer by 9am. Ordering took a while, as the employee did not seem fully trained yet. They didn't have many pastry options yet either - I really wanted to try one of their cookies. So all I ordered was the Caramelized Fig & Vanilla Matcha. The waiting area was small, so a lot of people went to wait at a table. I ket waiting by the counter and saw people that ordered after me already received their orders. I went up to one of two baristas that were making all of the drinks and asked. She said they'll make it next, and then she asked a third person to make it. I think what happened is they lost my order slip. Each order gets printed out on a small piece of paper that the baristas then take to their stations and make the drinks. I bet my order slip fell somewhere. I hope they figure out a better system because that caramelized fig matcha was SO good! I would go back for that and to try some of the food. My friend went on a different day and loved their Tiramisu Latte. Note: They are open 24/7 from February 17th through March 18th for Ramadan. read more

It's a beautiful cafe with great attention to detail. I stopped by with a friend on a Monday afternoon and we didn't have to wait long for our drinks but the place was pretty busy. I ordered the Spanish latte and my friend got the fig & vanilla matcha - both were good and on the sweeter side. The service was pretty bad - the girl who rang us up barely looked up to greet us and when I asked what the baklava syrup was like she pointed to the baklava dessert - I've had baklava plenty of times but never a syrup, she was just very unhelpful and couldn't answer any questions regarding the menu. If you want a place to study or talk with friend's I do recommend - I was just not impressed with the service at all. read more

3/14/26: Finally! After reading all the wonderful 4- and 5-star reviews, we were able to pop in to Laymoon this particular Saturday afternoon. Y'all weren't lying about this place. :-) We wanted to stop in a couple months ago, while checking out some flower festival on Mill, but when we walked by Laymoon, the line inside went from the register all the way to the back of the shop -- AND there were people waiting outside. There is even a sign on their window that says "if the line is to this spot, please wait outside". Holy cow, that's how popular they are. Neither of us wanted to wait that long or deal with that large of a crowd. We stopped in this Saturday after perusing the Tempe Festival of the Arts, and I can only surmise since it was also spring break for ASU, we were able to get inside the door & get in line. It was not as busy & despite there being only one register, the line went pretty quickly. As other reviewers state, it's a gorgeous space. Well lit, colorful, clean. They have a few tables / booths alcoves designated for 3 or more people & I did not see anyone ignoring that rule. There was a gentleman constantly going from table to table, cleaning off trash, wiping down spaces. Clearly cleanliness is important to them, so thank you for that. Drinks: caramelized fig & vanilla; mango peach. My fig drinks was delicious, the matcha smooth & creamy. The peach drink wasn't bad but I def prefer the match. Food: we only order the pistachio cookie & damn, was that delicious. We should have ordered a spare to take home. My only critique / suggestion, is to stop calling names when orders are ready. Instead, use the order number. Multiple people can have the same or similar-sounding names, but there's only one number. And if it's super busy or noisy, mistakes can happen. One did happen, in fact. My sister provided her name (Diane) but they entered (and called out Diana). Our first drink to come out I didn't pick up because (I thought) it wasn't our order -- and I did see a guy pick up the drink, making me certain it was not ours. When he brought it back, however, that's when I thought "maybe that is ours". I saw a small plate up there, too, and when the second drink came out for "Diana" I went up to pick up everything. Now, had they called out "order 185", there would have been less confusion. Needless to say, if we're ever in the vicinity of ASU again -- and school is not in session -- we will definitely hit up Laymoon again. read more
I've seen a lot of excitement about this café online and from friends, so I decided to check it out with a friend of mine. Definitely worth the hype! Firstly, everybody was so kind, and although it was very busy, there was so much seating to choose from. It was practical if you want to do work or just meet with someone. The designs and decor are so thoughtfully crafted. The honeycomb bread was creamy and sweet, but not too sweet. The drinks were amazing too. A must try. read more
I finally made it to LayMoon Café. What an excellent addition to the downtown Tempe area. There was a bit of a line because it's a new establishment with a lot of hype, but it lives up to the hype and the line moves fast. The service was great with helpful recommendations from the owner on which Matcha to get. The drink was better than the Matcha I had in Kyoto honestly. The cookie was warm with gooey caramel, next time I want to try a bagel or toast. The interior is decorated beautifully with a few merchandise items you can purchase. read more

I went during Ramadan when they're open 24/7, stopped in around 7:15am. There was a big group ahead of us but ordering/receiving drinks went fairly quick, was probably out before 7:30! The drinks are fantastic, well balanced flavors and strong matcha. The honey comb pastry is so good, sweet from the honey but savory from the sesame. Will definitely come back! read more
I went to Laymoon Cafe for my first time on Saturday morning as I was in town on my bachelorette trip in Scottsdale + I really enjoyed it! We were looking for a cute coffee spot with good drinks + brews + can confidently say that Laymoon did the job for us. I ordered the Maple Spiced Latte (iced) + also ordered the Lime Cooler because I wanted a coffee but also a fruity, refreshing beverage. The Maple Spiced Latte was beautifully flavored - it didn't taste like there were "syrup pumps" in the drink but rather real flavors which I really appreciated. My Lime Cooler was exactly what I was looking for - refreshing, tasty, + hydrating all in one. In addition to great beverages + vibes, Laymoon also had a variety of little gifts like hair clips, tote bags, + rings that customers could shop from which I thought was really cool. Definitely check out Laymoon while you are in town whether you need a good morning pick-me-up, a nice place to work remotely, or a cute coffee date with a friend! I cannot recommend enough. read more
My girlfriend and went there on a Saturday night during Ramadan, since they were open 24 hours. The line was long but expected, not a deal breaker. Cool ambiance with rugs on the ceiling and multiple large openings on a nice desert "winter" night. I ordered the Baklava Latte and my girlfriend got the Butter Cookie Latte. We also the baklava. I've never seen baklava like this... it was if it was a calzone made into slices with a bunch of pistachio filling and a bunch of honey on the outside of the fila dough. My drink was only good W/O stirring. Once I stirred it up to get the "mocha" up all I/we could taste was the milk and seemed watered down. My gf liked her butter cookie drink and so did I cuz at least it had flavor and a bit sweet. The vibe is nice and inviting too. read more
Beautiful coffee shop! It has a cozy Mediterranean vibe which would be perfect for solo coffee dates! We went on a Saturday morning so it was super busy with no seating, but while waiting they have different stations of jewelry and apparel that keeps you occupied. We tried the upside down strawberry matcha, tiramisu latte, and cloud matcha latte. All super delicious and super "let me post this on Yelp " worthy for all my Elite members! Great ambiance and so nicely decorated but the matcha was way too milky. There was barely any matcha taste and the upside down strawberry matcha tasted like strawberry milk. The lattes are better and have nice cold foam. Great space to do work once it clears out a bit more and since it is new, hopefully the drinks also stabilize and get better. read more
