We looked over the menu and I decided to get the 4 piece and I got 2 regular and 2 spicy chicken tenders with a Jalapeño Ranch and gravy! Both sauces were amazing! I used to be a fan when Layne's first opened up. But the quality of chicken has gone down dramatically. The chicken fingers are no longer fresh, juicy, or moist. They taste like the tenders you get at the grocery store that have been sitting under a heat lamp. I'm not sure who ripped off who (though I have an idea), but Layne's is too similar to Raising Cane's to be a coincidence. Same black pepper dipping sauce, same crinkle cut fries, and a very similar thin-ish yet crispy breading. The difference?? Chicken here is not tender and juicy like their competitor's, rather it was a bit dry and tough to chew. But the breading is solid, cooked a bit crispier, with similar flavor to RC. Spicy version added a little bit more flavor. Crinkle fries are cooked right, crispy and great with sauce. Drive thru was fast, but mainly because we were their only customers. This is the second time I've gone to this location and got cold fries. I just don't get why this ever happens at a restaurant. What goes through the mind of an individual when they put bad food in your bag knowing that they wouldn't eat them themselves. The chicken isn't that tasty but edible it just sucks when they throw cold fries in the bag as well. So after many years of curiosity, I finally came in here. First of all the customer service?? TOP TIER!! The employees were so sweet and helpful!! I got the 3 finger meal with honey mustard, gravy, and jalapeño ranch. All of the sauces were solid but the honey mustard is by far THE BEST honey mustard I've ever had!! SO insanely good!! WOW. This is by far our favorite chicken place. My husband and I have driven past this restaurant dozens and dozens of times over the years but the exterior signs are underwhelming so we never stopped. We were starving one afternoon and decided to give it a try while running errands and were blown away at how affordable and great the food was! This would be a direct competitor to Cane's- very similar in every aspect. The chicken is better quality here though and doesn't get soggy immediately like Cane's can if left in the box for more than 2 minutes. I do prefer the sauce at Cane's - this has a bit more of a BBQ base? My husband loves it through! The resturant it self was very empty but also very clean and remodeled way differently than it was before this place came in. I always see a bunch of people going through the drive through more than sitting inside all the time when I drive by. The food came out pretty quickly and was so excited because I was so hungry. I really liked the fries and thought it was great that it kept its crunchy texture and didnt get soggy like canes does. The chicken tenders was sooo soft and I liked that but it wasn't too flavorful or as salty as canes which I kind of liked but some people might not like that. I also thought they way they fried it was better and stayed pretty crispy too. The toast I didnt care too much for and was wayy to buttery for me. Definitely nothing can beat that toast from canes and this was just a overly buttered sandwhich bread.
