Order of wedge salad with shrimp....shrimp came out 15 minutes before salad...salad missing three components listed on menu....we were told salad maker didn't show up so no salads were to be made and this was 20 minutes after taking our order. Paid cash to avoid the 4% up charge and the change returned to us was incorrectly calculated. On our way home now and looking for a quick place to get a sandwich. We won't be back. read more

Lazy Turtle on US-1 in Palm Bay, FL Just picked up 2 of the nastiest blackened grouper sandwiches I have been served in a very long time. Heavily, heavily over seasoned w/a dripping, wilted piece of lettuce to top it off. Very expensive garbage can filler! This was my 2nd & final visit to this place. The 1st time the sandwich was a piece of dry fish on a bun, no tartar sauce, no lettuce & tomato as advertised. It was edible however. Luckily I had all that at home. It was a really cool place that you should try. It was on the river so you could get to from Rt1 or your boat. We tried the calamari, lamb lollipops, & ceviche. The Calamari was great. The fried shrimp was amazing along with the crab legs & Blackened grouper, the lobster roll was not the best but ok. ( it needed to be more tail than minced claw). The service was great too. I really wanted t love this place. we arrived at 12:01 and weren't able to leave until 2:50. Waited that long for our order(10 people) because the kitchen did not get the ticket because their Spectrum was down(Servers should be checking on their orders) The kitchen blamed the server who blamed the kitchen who said so sorry no manager on site. Super disappointing but it's typical Palm Bay.. No manager on-site until we were leaving and a 4% upcharge to use your debit card even though it was said the up charge was for credit card only. I can't say enough good things about The Lazy Turtle. I planned my friend's 50th birthday dinner for 13 people and after getting the run-around from another establishment, I reached out to the Lazy Turtle. Barb got back to me immediately, booked my party, and helped me choose appetizers and quantities in advance. The day of the event the staff was amazing. Everyone was friendly and attentive, constantly checking in to make sure everyone had what we needed. The appetizers came out right on time and were delicious. Each guest raved about their entree. Not a single thing was less than perfection. They allowed me to bring in a cake, kept it refrigerated for me, and facilitated serving, even opening and putting the candles on for me. I could not have asked for a better night. Special shout out to our server Robert. He was gracious and efficient. We were a big group with a lot of drink orders and Robert was right there when we needed him, making sure we had our drinks, and clearing empty glasses and dishes from the table to make sure we had plenty of room all evening. Robert worked really hard for us and we appreciate it so much. It was an important night, celebrating a 50th birthday, and it was everything we hoped for. read more

My husband and I decided to give it a try since it was new in town. We were definitely not disappointed! I would give it 10 stars!. We dined indoors. Our server was Jen who did an excellent job. Service was great. We started with drinks, Calamari with a hurricane sauce that was to die for. We both had the Hemingway Snapper with lump crab sauce that was so delicious. The topper was the homemade Baklava with pistachios and vanilla ice cream. Service was on spot, appetizers, meals and dessert all in a timely fashion. This will be our new GO TO place. So I we ordered some appetizers the Brazilian bread no taste at all then the fried calamari omg why the hell I kept chewing it like it was just nothing but eww. They over cooked it and it was just like wtf do you know how to cook in the back. So then we try the coconut shrimp okay that was a lot better then every thing and actually cooked. I really wanted to the mussels but they were 86 meaning they were out. But the other thing was I ordered a virgin rainbow drink but it came thought about it I can't drink this I bet it has mango in it and no my new waitress that didn't know much and was ditzy I don't think she is gonna make it at all. I mean it's your first day doesn't even try hard at all I mean my mom asked about wine and said the wine is 7.00 and I was like trying to hold in my laughter. I was just like omg then my other family members got their food. I really felt bad because my mom told me she hated her shrimp scampi that it had no taste and the shrimp wasn't cooked that's disgusting. How does restaurant have these issues and are still open. This is terrible stop serving and turn in to appetizers or only just a club. Stopped in for the first time for lunch today. We ate on the patio which was very nice. Directly on the water with a great view and breeze. We have been driving by the Lazy Turtle for months awaiting its opening. Yesterday as we drove by there were cars in the parking lot so we decided to stop in. We were very happy with the look and layout of the restaurant. There is a very nice Tiki bar out back with a great view of the river. The entire back of the restaurant is windows with a great view of the river from the entire seating area. Nice menu, and great service, we were very happy we stopped in. We had the crispy shrimp appetizer, the lobster bisque, and a couple of sushi rolls. They have a well stocked full bar and great bartenders. The food was excellent and we will be returning in the near future. Highly recommended. read more

I live near the Lazy Turtle and have been waiting for it to open and now that I've been I HIGHLY recommend. The staff is very friendly, the food is exceptional and everything is fairly priced. went on Thanksgiving 11-24. Had a reservation, was told to sit in bar area. Dining room only had 2 tables filled. when I said I wanted the dining was told to find a table and take it. Waitress came by and asked if waiter had been there yet. We said no and waiter appeared within 5 minutes. Menu was appetizer, salad, soup, dinner and dessert. Salad and soup arrived, soup was Luke warm,. was told appetizer was not ready yet, it did appear later. Dinner did not arrive. Table next to us received their dinner. it was our dinners delivered to them. Called waiter over to ask where our dinner was. Dinner was delivered within 5 minutes. Turkey was a wing on one plate and a leg (full of tendons) on the others. Food was not warm. Stood up and went to leave. Owner offered to give us a new meal delivered by him. We had been there 2 1/2 hours. Refused his offer and left. Service was terrible and holiday dinner was ruined. read more

CUSTOMER BEWARE!!! we unfortunately chose to spend my son's 14th birthday here. the food was pretty decent, the setting was decent, but it's a real shame the owner of this place refuses to accept accountability for his mismanagement and inadequate service. we ordered 4 apps, it took over 1.5 hrs for ONE app to come out. the other three? "comped as a courtesy" but never brought out. not sure why it's a "comp" if we never even received it- our server even told us they gave them to the wrong table, so why would we have pay for it? they were out of coors light and oysters...it's a holiday weekend. we were told the owner was present, but after asking to speak with him THREE times, he was "too busy" to ever make it out to our table. we saw at least two servers in tears..and when we questioned how comping anything that we didn't receive was any sort of rectification, he told his server that he'd take $20 off and that was all he was willing to do- yet had we received the apps and been charged for them, our bill would've been well over $400 after tip. we really didn't even want "comped" meals, just for the owner to come and apologize for the beyond dismal experience, but clearly he couldn't care less because he refused each time stating he was too busy in the kitchen. oh and this was all between the hours of 2-6pm. there were only 4-5 other tables, so it's not like we went when they were slammed and expected to be seated and served immediately. it's obvious the ownership of this establishment is the entirety of the issues we experienced today and we will not be returning. read more

Great view and atmosphere but the entire meal took 3 hours. We were seated with no menus and never greeted by a server. Finally went inside to tell the hostess and eventually a waiter came out to us. Peel and eat shrimp we thought would be a quick appetizer since we were starving but that took an hour itself. Our server was good but I think the restaurant is managed poorly leading to poor service with servers spread over 3 different sections, 2 of them outdoors. When we left we saw 2 cooks out in their car being yelled at by management and a head cook to get back inside because orders were backed up. Lots of drama between servers. We got there right when it opened so I can't imagine how long people had to wait when it was packed and busy. read more

Have been here several times, food and service was great. We went tonight for dinner and was terribly disappointed. First off, our server Stephanie, was pleasant but did not follow up on our orders. We had ordered a dozen raw oysters and salad. She said she will get them in and come back to get the rest of the order which she did. Waited a good 20 minutes before our our food came. It was our dinner! Where is the salad and oysters? Well, she was too busy talking and laughing at the bar with co-workers. We asked the server to get her. Came to the table, we asked what happened to the oysters and salad, she said I don't know and walked away to check and did not come back until we were just about done with the meal (which was delicious). This is my first time reviewing. I never find restaurants' service & food to warrant a public review. My party of 12 reserved a table 1 hour before arriving at 8pm. Our order was taken at 8:15 and our appetizers arrived around 9:00. The appetizers came out at staggered times and our entrees came around 9:45. The service was exceptionally bad because one of the food runners rudely whispered "you should know what you ordered" after we inquired about one of the dishes. Additionally, one of our entrees were delivered to our table incorrectly 4 times. On the fifth attempt, fries were missing. One of our entrees was a lamb chop. The lamb chop was delivered almost completely raw and a half portion while a full chop was ordered. One hour after taking out food order, our waiter informed us that the restaurant was out of sushi and lobster, which is easily 40% of their menu. Three of our entrees included sushi and lobster. The manager was easy to communicate with but offered us a mere 10% discount on our meal that did not reflect the terrible service and extreme prolonged wait time. We also saw a rat on their exterior patio dining area. Our server did the best he could with the situation and the manager did not support him enough to make our experience decent. The food is very expensive and the service is very poor. Management knew we had a reservation and the kitchen should have told the waiter about the ingredient shortage. read more

I've been watching this place getting ready and renovated for a while now. Saw that it was opened and wanted to try it out. The place was not packed but it wasn't empty. We decided to try out the tiki bar out back, on the deck. We were not disappointed! Peyton, our bartender was very personable and helped us discover some new drinks. We had a couple of drinks each and shared some apps. Oysters, conch fritters, and ceviche were all delicious and fresh. The ingredients were handled with care and went perfectly with our drinks. This place is a great find for anyone wanting Tiki drinks and apps. Next time we'll try out the dining room inside! read more

If there was an option for a negative 5 star review that would not even suffice. This restaurant is an absolute mess. So I made reservations because of the Mother's Day holiday. We arrived exactly on time. The hostess, was unsure what table we were at and tried to seat us inside when I asked for patio. Thankfully, my husband said we made the reservation for patio and she went looking and found our table reserved outside. We were seated and it took 15 minutes to order a drink. I ordered a frozen drink which came 30 minutes later. The drink was not good did not taste and alcohol in it. So 15 minutes more go by, and a waitress comes to the table and says your waiter is overwhelmed I will be taking your order. We place our order with an appetizer. Meanwhile drinks are empty ice melted, no one comes to ask if we need anything. An hour and 45 minutes go by no appetizer, no waitress. My husband goes to find waitress and she says "oh you have'nt received anything?" We are like no and we are leaving. What would be expected would be the restaurant to comp the drinks we had but manager wanted to argue with us and we paid our tab. Bottom line 2 hours later, we left. We really were excited to try the Lazy Turtle. Our party of 4 went in for a late lunch. The staff were so friendly. We ordered the 2 grouper baskets, a shrimp basket and a lobster dinner. Our fried grouper and shrimp were so thick in batter we had to peel it off. Our sweet potato fries had maple syrup poured over .That was horrible. We were not told about that or we would not have ordered. In our opinion if you are going to charge like they do you should get additional sides. Not worth the money. read more

I was invited out to celebrate my friend's birthday and we waited a hour for drinks, 3 out of 8 of the drinks were wrong and 1 of the drinks had to be re made 4 times in order to be correct. The manager stepped in and tried to make it right she brought the correct drink. There were a few appetizers that we ordered and never received. The manager stepped in again and brought the appetizers after an hour and a half. We arrived at the restaurant at 6 and didn't receive our food until 8:40. One of the ladies ordered Tuna Rolls, when we notified the waiter that she was missing her food, they went to the salad bar and grabbed a plate that had been sitting up there for about an hour. I had the Seafood Paella that was lobster, mussels scalllops, shrimp, chicken and sausage....only there was NO LOBSTER...empty mussel shells, 2 pieces of scallops, 3 shrimp and lots of rice and peas. It was so bad, even though I was hungry, I did not eat most of it. The flies were so bad, I had to keep fighting them off my plate. The water was horrid and could not be drank, The service was meager...never was asked if any thing was needed, had to stop and ask for service when needed. We had a wonderful Birthday lunch for my mother-in-law at the Lazy Turtle Riverfront restaurant. It was WONDERFUL!!!! They are very pet friendly and we brought our two pups, who were welcomed on the patio with open arms. The conch fritters and coconut shrimp were delicious. The grouper sandwich and lobster roll were both very fresh. Our server, Tiffanie, went above and beyond to make our experience very special! The water views were gorgeous.
