Let's cut to the chase---I love twofers. You get classy, out-of-this-world, 360 degree views of the NYC skyline at The Top Of The Standard lounge. Then, at Le Bain, you get the sexy, nightlife part. Both different in energy and design. My friends and I, just finished with cocktails over at the lounge and crossed over just to do a 2 step. Miss DJ played a few freestyle throwbacks then after that, music went downhill. We lost interest, packed up and headed downstairs. Spray art, ran the show in Le Bain's stairway and reminded me of a mid 1980s street in Alphabet City. Pure funktified. Bumped into Miss DJ as we were heading out and mentioned to us that she plays a different selection of music and assured us that Le Bain is pumping on Saturdays late afternoon. It's a nice hangout I guess. And Le Bain doesn't win my vote just yet. Just need to look at who's playing that day before heading there. read more

The bouncers said it was an invitation-only event and admission was not guaranteed. An older couple in front of us got turned away because the woman didn't have her physical ID, I think she had a photograph. She was clearly not underage. Once we got to the 18th floor, it was really empty. So we got our drinks and went to the rooftop. It was a little chilly to sit in the same place for a long time. By the time we came back downstairs it was sort of packed. We grabbed a spot by the hot tub and chilled for a bit. Warning: the hot tub will relax you so much. I got a little sleepy. A couple of girls got into the hot tub, one of them was completely naked. Needless to say, all eyes were on her. Advice for girls: wear a bikini under your dress. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! what we experience last night was insane. we were in line for almost an hour, we asked the bouncer at the front, some 40-some year old guy, about the entrance and he said as long as we had rsvp, we could get in. so whenever we get to the front (finally) he says "guest list only" like WHAT? why didn't he say that from the beginning? however, we noticed that he was only letting certain people in, even without the list, he wasn't checking anything. thankfully, outside someone told me they've had issues with stabbing in that place so glad we didn't go in (i attached a screenshot of the news). spend your time and money somewhere else, there's plenty to choose from trust. :) read more

If you're looking for an interesting night out with a mixed crowd this is the place to be. Granted I went when the weather was a little better but I had a good time. Now it is pricey so that's something to take into account if you're going here for drinks. However the views are pretty dope. The place always has a nice crowd. The wait for me getting in was very quick. The horse next to the bar was a great strange touch. This place is also a couple of floors so it was good to walk through and get different vibes from every floor. I didn't get a chance to try the food because the kitchen closed as I attempted to order. Also I noticed that they shut down the bar next to the pool pretty early in the night. I've seen a ton of my NYC friends coming here over the years so I wanted to see this place for my self. I came around 2:15 as doors open at 2 on weekends and there was a line to get in, since they didnt actually open right at 2. There is no cover but they really check out your ID like a police investigation. You go up the elevator and end up in an enclosed area which must be more popular at night, where there is even a hot tub. The rooftop is the main attraction so we went up there and took in the view. Seating is pretty limited and when we first sat on the couches, we quickly learned that if someone got "bottle" service they would be taking our spot. And we were the first group to get kicked out of our spot- which was lame, because we wanted to drink our drinks and see if they were worth it to get a whole bottle of but weren't really given the time to do so. The logic behind this is wack- I have never been here and before committing to $60 worth of booze, I can't even have 5 minutes to try it first while I sit at the spot I got? Instead you get moved immediately even though I waited in line for 20 minutes and got a drink and found this spot. Major sigh and roll eyes at that. While views are nice, the bartenders are a bit pretentious. They made some backhand comments to my boyfriend because he asked for a straw for his drink. The bartender literally said "Yeah sure, I guess my grandchildren won't have a clean environment but sure you can have your straw". Honestly, no matter your stance, get your socio-political propaganda out of this bar. We get it, California got rid of straws, but currently is not a public offense to ask for one. While the drinks are good here they are definitely not $14 mind blowingly good. The other major complaint is that we got eaten alive up here from no-see-ums. I left here with 6-8 super itchy bug bites so beware. Oh, and bathrooms are unisex which is interesting. read more

This place has gorgeous views and really delicious pitchers for drinks. Just a warning, there is a $65 per person minimum if you make a reservation. I think it ended up being worth it because their drinks are really expensive anyways, so if you stay here for long, then you should totally get a $60 pitcher and share it with a friend. You can only sit down with a reservation. The bouncers were actually nice to me, despite the reviews. I didn't do the clubbing experience though so I am not sure if that would have changed things. read more

Been coming here for few years now and this spot still remains one of my favorite rooftops in NYC. Well this rooftop has a lot of things going in it's favor, Great location (Meatpacking), Part of a nice hotel (Standard Hotel) and very good views of the city. I have been here during afternoon, evening and late night...it's one of those places where it is easy to get in and one will see people from all sorts of life. Please dress to impress, as there will be a lot of *good eye candy* and very well dressed people out here. Best part of this place is how two sections of the rooftop have completely different ambience. The indoors pool area is just a great idea, one can enjoy the pool along with cocktails. Drinks ain't cheap out here, but one is paying for the experience and ambience. The outdoor area upstairs is great to hangout specially in summers. LeBain is definitely my goto spot when in mood for some rooftop fun. read more

Awesome space - indoor and out. During the summer, they have an indoor pool and an outdoor deck upstairs. During the winter, both areas are much more tame, but they do have an enclosed area upstairs. Try to go earlier evenings - yes even on a weekend !! - when it isn't nightclubby for a relaxed chill time with friends. Most cocktails will run you about 15 bucks and if you like tequila, the drink called "The Bitter Truth" is amazing! Even if it's chilly out, take a minute and go up to the roof. You won't regret it. Bartenders are awesome, and don't forget to take a trip to see the best view from a bathroom that you may ever see. Then again, Of course you're only there for the views of New Jersey... I've been here twice so far. The first time was with a friend in 2017 and more recently with my boyfriend. The first time I went to Le Bain, I was told to go through the hotel elevators. During my recent visit, we had to go through the side entrance. Once you enter, you see the indoor bar and the hot tub to the right. You go up a flight of stairs to get to the rooftop bar. The view is beautiful and sunsets are gorgeous here. The music has been great both times I've been here. Drinks were ($14) regardless of what you got. I remember the cocktail list being different last year but I love the one I chose from this year's list. I got Just One Kiss and a Jameson and Ginger Ale. I've seen it more expensive at other places and the drinks here are stronger. This place is great for date nights or just hanging out with friends. read more

Nice views, solid dance floor, good music... After finally having on "proper" shoes to enter this venue on a Wednesday night I was able to give this place a try recently. I was not disappointed. Previous times that I have hopped over here after sweating it out at another dance club down the street I was turned away for having a more athletic style shoe and hoody, without a nicer overcoat on as I did this time. I honestly can't say what the requirements are for entering this place or whether there is a cover. A young lady ahead of me wasn't allowed entry after a brief interrogation, but my friend and I just walked right in on this occasion. *shrug* Nevertheless, once you're inside it's a pretty good vibe (again speaking for Wednesday nights). The music is more concentrated with beats and hip hop with top 40 sprinkled in a bit. It's a proper club with people coming to actually dance as opposed to simply standing around. There's also some space around to relax by the windows and take in the view. The venue is not too large and the windows help open the space up a bit. I'd return here. read more

As a woman I had a coat on alongside men who had had on sports coats and jackets. I was told that I had to check my coat which was a part of my outift but the men didnt have to .. they were able to wear there coats. In 2020 i hope enough women have a stance and stand strong against the policies that only effect women and not men. On top of the entire experience they embarrassed us and called us out in front of everyone and made the elevator bully us. read more

I and my group of friends came here to celebrate my birthday. After waiting an hour in line in freezing temperatures, when it was finally our turn to enter, the doorman rudely turned us away. Our group comprised of 30+ year old, well dressed ladies and gents of mixed (non-Caucasian) race. They attributed it to 'doorman discretion,. At the same time, the doorman was letting under-age Caucasian kids in without IDs into the club. Not only is this place abhorrently racist, lacks class and engages in illegal behavior promoting under age drinking; it turned down amongst its highest paying customers. RUDEST STAFF IN THE CITY-never go here. There are plenty of better views in the city with WAY nicer staff. The staff is sexist and only has "mandatory coat check" for women. Men are never asked to remove their coats. Only women in revealing tops are asked to remove their coats. Beyond that, when the bar transitions from lounge to club they kindly ask their patrons to leave or buy a table-which our server was extremely kind about. When I tried to use the bathroom once we were told this, I was told the bathrooms were closed and had to put up quite the fight just to be allowed to use the bathroom. If you are going to ask patrons to leave, you should at the very least allow them to use the bathroom while they pay their bill. My biggest complaint was the EXTREMELY misogynistic bouncer who DISGUSTINGLY kept requiring women to check their coats. I will never go back to this sexist and extremely rude establishment ever again. read more

I've been here a handful of times, both day and night, and I can definitely say it has one of the best views out of all the rooftops I've been to in NYC! It's beautiful. and they serve yummy crepes on the rooftop When I have friends, I love bringing them here for the view, I usually have a promoter help get us in so I haven't had too many issues. The wait can be long though depending on the time and which day you go. On the times, I have been here at night and on the dance floor, I wasnt the biggest fan of the music since I like a good mix and variety of genres, but it seems primarily disco and edm so this place is my go-to for a lovely view but not really for when I want to dance. read more

The rooftop was amazing!!! Came just in time for the sunset and had the most beautiful view of the Hudson and the sunset. The drinks were a typical price for NYC but definitely worth it, heavy pours!! :) One thing I will say is that It get CROWDED. We ended up shoulder to shoulder with people, it got so packed! Came with some friends during the day, which apparently is easier to get into from what I hear from my Asian friends...the scene at night sounds more exclusive but I can't speak to that from personal experience. Loved our server Rachel, super sweet and fun gal that only works weekends. She came around with her water gun and liked to squirt random people, she also had some nice moves and liked to dance when serving us. The weather was great and the view was amazing from the rooftop. I'd definitely bring sunscreen because everyone and their mama was getting sunburnt except my friends and I who brought sunscreen! We got 4 pitchers of some cocktails...two of the cucumber lemonade and I can't remember what the red one was because I didn't like it...anyway, spent like $300, which okay is paying for the drinks and view. Nice as a once in a while experience or if you have money to blow, but not a place I'd regular at considering that price point. Oh yeah, the bathroom is unisex. I'm from out of town and thought the employee was messing with me. There is a nice view of the pier from the window, but there were weird bird noises on the stalls like you'd hear white noise...but with birds chirping. I've come to Le Bain and Standard for many years. I'm not a fancy person. I drive an ambulance. It's always a special occasion to come to Le Bain. I've come since 2015 for birthdays, anniversaries, and such. Last night was my 38th Birthday. My girlfriend drank too much and security treated her and me like criminals. They were aggressive, demeaning, unprofessional, and ridiculous. My girlfriend didn't hurt anyone, break anything or make a scene. She didn't fall down and didn't throw up. She was never unaccompanied. I came with a small party, had a reservation for 10 people, and was sober the whole time. This club treated us like this because my girlfriend isn't white. She did nothing to deserve the commotion they created. Security threatened and mocked me. They tried to get me to pay a bill for drinks that weren't even delivered. We were made to feel like scum by an establishment that no matter what is pretended, is a hang out for white models. The way we're treated would never have occurred if we were white models or artists, this was truly inappropriate. The fact that I was a guest at the hotel, am a precious patron and my girlfriend was not being a disruption should all be considered, more importantly, this was my birthday and I work my ass off as a New York City Paramedic. This is a great spot for Saturday and Sunday afternoons during the summer. They normally accommodate your group and the drinks are awesome. They have a solid champagne list, but it's more overpriced than other lists. The cocktail menu is great and shows why this place is a summer spot. Get a few pitchers to try them, they're unique but sometimes the menu changes. I think their best drink is the Frozen Grapefruit Gimlet... and it's the one that's normally on the menu. Dressed pretty dapper we decided to get our dance on while having a couple of additional cocktails before returning to The Boom Boom Room. UNPROFESSIONAL STUUF MEMBERS . Sunday July 2nd, stuff member (bar-back) came over the sofa area around 1:00 - 1:30 am telling 2 other couples , my friends and I to leave the sofa with an impolite and homophonic actitud saying that party was about to finish. Cool rooftop bar near The High Line! We waited about 10 minutes to go up the elevator and was able to find a seat outside quickly. We ordered a pitcher for the 4 of us and it was so tasty! Those fruity drinks are always a creeper though and it was obvious the group next to us was pretty drunk... We finished 2 pitchers while enjoying the gorgeous New York views. There is a indoor jacuzzi on the floor right below the main rooftop area. We did almost get into a fight with a group of girls who thought they were entitled to form their own line and cut everyone getting into the elevators to exit the hotel. I realllllly love this place! It's always packed, they play great music, and I can usually put my toes in a lil hot tub (seasonal). After dancing inside for a while, we head upstairs! It's very packed but it has amazing views of the city. People smoke up there because it's the outdoor component of the place. You can also grab seat and relax while you take it all in. Drinks aren't too pricey, and they're potent enough. Cover: I've been a few times; we did not need to wait long at all, and I have never paid a cover.
