Lots of parking and the ambiance is nice and clean. Service was okay. Not sure if they were off their game, but we got water but was not asked if we wanted a drink or something else. My friend had to get up and asked for a coke. We started with Tom Yum Shrimp. Soup was nice and hot, great start to the dinner. Since it was a bit nippy outside. The shrink could have been de-veined a bit more thoroughly. The Orange chicken was nicely cooked but the Orange flavor didn't come through as we would like. The chicken cashew was good. Lots of Thai and Vietnamese food available, but we decided to try something new. I wanted Thai, she wanted Vietnamese, so this seemed to be a good solution. It was empty at noon on a Saturday, but had filled up by the time we left. Service was great. Lunch menu was a wide variety. Although I would usually have gone for Pad Thai, I was drawn to the BBQ pork over rice. My wife got the Bun. All of that was great, but the amazing new thing for us was the Vietnamese Grape Leaves Rolled with Beef. It's a wonderful "roll your own" kind of thing with seasoned beef wrapped in grape leaves, along with basil, cilantro and vegetables. You have to soak the rice paper first, then wrap it all up. Fun! So...for Pho it's still Pho of The Desert, for Banh Mi it's still La Baguette, and for Pad Thai it's still Thai Smile, but...when you can't decide, this is the place to go. read more

This place was amazing!!! The staff was helpful and the restaurant had a nice ambiance. The place was about half full for the lunch crowd on Friday. We ordered the beef wrapped in grape leaves and it was a great tasting adventure. My husband and I tried Curry, chicken sauté, and mango with sticky rice for dinner. Everything was tasty , especially the mango rice was excellent! Service was good and nice atmosphere. The only negatives are the peanut sauce for the chicken tasted more like cream instead of peanut, the curry sauce was thicker than we have had in the past, more like gravy, and the noodles were a different texture then we are used to but still all in all very tasty. My opinion the cross between Vietnamese and Thai may be why it's a little different than Thai but I'm just guessing . The first three pictures was lunch mom and I had awhile back. My fiancé and I dined here on Thursday night and it was a sweet Thai surprise. For starters the Thai tea was yummy. The money bag was our appetizer and 5/5 would recommend, great crunch and soft rice inside. My fiancé had the yellow curry at spice level of 5/10 and it was creamy with a kick. I had the Pad See You with beef and it was appetizing. The service was quick and our server had great recommendations. The ambiance is nice and quaint, the artwork and fixtures on the wall are epic. The proportions look small but very filling and we took leftovers home. I would recommend this place and can't wait to be back to try more dishes! read more

We were craving Thai, and luckily Le Basil was open for take out! We ordered a number of items including orange chicken, pad see ew, and shrimp fried rice. It was all made to order. I am most pleasantly surprised about the orange chicken! Breaded and not so heavy with the sauce and delicious. Definitely a fun twist! I wished the shrimp fried rice had more shrimp. Pad see ew was good, definitely just a different color than I am used to. Finally bbq pork was a great! It was my dad's order so I only snuck in one bite unfortunately (but fortunately for him). We went there for lunch looking forward to a delicious Thai meal, as we frequent Thai restaurants quite often. We placed our order, had never experienced that rice was supposed to be a separate order, oh well. We waited for our lunch which was served very quickly, we requested our order to be spicy as the waiter did not even ask about a spice level, strange we thought. Once we started eating we noticed immediately that both dishes had no spice at all. The chicken in both dishes tasted very odd, almost hard to bite. Visiting family out here and wanted to treat the family to a good meal. Problem is, we're vegan and we don't want them to be iffy on any food as they are not. Treated them to Thai food for the first time as we aren't rookies over here. Inside is nice, nothing crazy, but was real surprised with the full bar that they have front and center which really made me raise my expectation for this Thai joint. Staff was super friendly, while it seemed like it was a two person job running the front and delivering plates. They were solid. Staff was more than accommodating us when it came to vegan dishes. Plenty of selection and the family absolutely loved all the dishes. Food was plated very nicely, quality looked a bit more upscale. And their dishes looked absolutely delicious. I really enjoyed the curry dish and the spicy noodles, which had a great char to it. Drinks came out fast and delicious, and I wasn't even mad for treating them all to a nice dinner even looking at the price tag. With two hungry kids we walked into the restaurant little before 6pm. It took several attempts to flag the staffs to order food. Unbelievable, it took them one hour and 15 minutes for food to be delivered to table. They kept taking phone orders but customers inside the store were neglected. Every table had long wait for food. After I flagged down the server, he was about to take my order but another server said take the other table order first. The service here sucks. I'm sorry, it really does. Overall, price of food was expensive. Not sure, in general it's this expensive because food portion was so little. After waiting that long, I was scared to order anything extra. We ordered pho ( soup was warm instead of hot), Asian shrimp egg plant, fried rice. Seriously, quantity was so little for each dinner entree. We were still hungry since quantity was little. Fried rice was good enough for one small Child. If you going to charge $20 something, it should have little more rice. I wanted Thai chillies, they told me not today. We're busy. Highly recommend the wonton soup to start and the diner salad. Amazing dressing. For main course, we did traditional family style so tried noodles, beef and chicken options. Delicious! But oh so so overpriced Dinner for two without drinks comes out to over $81 before tip! However, what I have tried is just spectacular! The Tom Yum Soup Hot Pot with Chicken serves as a wonderful appetizer with a generous mix of veggies, mushrooms and chicken in a delicious broth. The Pad See Ew makes me wish I had an endless appetite but makes just as wonderful of a leftover meal heated up at home. The Green Curry Chicken however is a little blander than experienced at other Thai restaurants but still yummy, just not a repeat order since the first time. The Egg Rolls were better than the Fresh Spring Rolls but both hit the spot if that's what you're in the mood for! Very cute interior with a dim setting. This restaurant is neighboring to smart and final, a bit of a random location but they've been around for a bit and they have great fresh tasting food. I came here for an appetizer and ordered the tofu spring rolls, the tofu is cooked to perfection. The peanut sauce is to die for!! We loved this restaurant. It was our first visit and we were very impressed. Extremely clean, Covid extra safe, lovely outdoor dining patio. The flavors are light and simple yet very complex in taste. Their chef certainly knows what sauces compliment the dishes. We ordered crispy rolls, shrimp and snow peas, and bo lulac. The bo lulac is to die for. We were very pleased and looking forward to returning. Be sure and ask for a sample plate of hot sauces. The "green" hot sauce was amazing. read more

We came in on Christmas Eve because we are on our way to the Living Desert Zoo. It's in a fairly convenient spot, right off the main road on the way, and it was very easy to find parking. Okay Vietnamese food. Perhaps I'm spoiled having grown up with Vietnamese food from OC/LA areas, but the food here was *just* okay. My party and I shared goi cuon (spring roll) and cha gio (eggroll) appetizers, both of which had the same flavors I knew from home. I ordered their pho bo vien (beef meatball) and the flavor of the broth was slightly bland. However, they provided the traditional plate of bean sprouts, Thai basil, sliced jalapeño, and lime for toppings. My biggest qualm is that everything is on the pricier side, but this may be because of location and lack of local Asian markets or grocers to purchase ingredients. Staff was otherwise very kind, and the restaurant itself was clean. If you're truly craving Vietnamese and Thai flavors while in the area, this is an okay spot to eat at. read more

If you follow my reviews by now you've learned that we have purchased a weekend crash pad in the desert and we're exploring all the desert has to offer! Today, while driving around we came upon Le Basil. If you were not looking for it chances are you'd never come upon it as it is set back off Hwy 111. We found a spot on the cute patio and we were promptly greeted by the server. We ordered our drinks, and discussed the menu as we didn't see Drunken Noodles on the menu. The server said they'd be happy to accommodate us! Yay! We ordered the Tom Ka Soup, Egg Rolls, Drunken Noodles, and Green Curry with chicken. It was ALL amazing! We asked about desert and of course, they offered the Mango Sticky Rice and Friend Bananas and Coconut Ice Cream. One of each please! Both deserts were fantastic. The Friend Bananas were very special. They were cut into chunks, then battered and tossed in coconut flakes, then fried. They were sweet, and warm, and had the coconut crunch on the exterior! Paired with the coconut ice cream they were THE best! Probably one of the best Thai meals we've ever had... and that's saying a lot as in Los Angeles there are plenty of great Thai eateries. We're glad we stumbled upon Le Basil and look forward to returning soon! read more

It takes a lot for me to complain or write a bad review. Service was terrible here. Started with our appetizer being dropped all over the table without an offer to replace. Next, we we're served the wrong entrée... Took 10 minutes for the manager to come confirm it was the wrong dish and put in our correct order. Was ready to leave by this point but stuck it out through the mediocre food and terrible service. Wasn't looking for a comped meal or any sort of discount but the lack of accountability from management was pathetic. If you're in the mood for Thai I would highly recommend avoiding this place and go to Blue Orchid down the street for better quality food and MUCH better service. read more

This place is SOOOO delicious. We were going to Dragon Sushi but then changed our minds because of how busy it was but we are so happy we did. Every dish we had was to die for. The seating was comfortable and romantic. Plus the ambiance was casual but high class and that's what we dressed for, so the evening turned out perfectly. We had the Tom Yum Soup Hot Pot with chicken and the spicy level 9. We should have done 8 because it was one level too much for me but it was so good. The mushrooms were quality in there and every bite was exciting. We then got the thai chicken and shrimp salad and that dressing is so perfect. I wish I could bottle up and take it home with me. After we had the mango and sticky rice which we were too full for and only had a few bites and had to take the rest home for later tonight. But we are glad we got it!
